    wellll now im back to square one with what to do for a new drawing tablet. i really dont want to deal with apple again after the shit they put me through today but i really dont know what other tablet to get hmmm

    sadly where i live the soonest they can deliver is february and i kinda wanted it before then :( but that might be what it comes too if i cant find something else that works for me.

    Wacom has a cheaper (maybe entry level? I’m not sure) pen display called wacom one and I’ve heard some good things about huion’s tablets, but if you want portability I believe that your best bet would be an ipad. Have you tried looking for the ipad at target or best buy online? Usually the apple store is the fastest, but sometimes other stores will have stock.

    the last time i was at target they had the ipad but not the pencils! :( i can check again the next time i go up to the city though. thanks for the advice yall.

    In another sad twist of my drawing tablet saga, i drove an hour to the apple store today for them to tell me "whoops somethings wrong and we dont know what lol come back some other day to hopefully get the items youve already paid for". So i just got a refund because i cant keep driving to the city and back. Sad :(

    im gonna go pick up my ipad tomorrow yay! im SO excited, i struggle with my relationship with digital art but ive heard from a lot of people drawing on an ipad helped them learn to like digital art again.
    back in the day my favorite way to do digital art was on this like little android tablet i had and i had to draw with my finger cause i didnt have a stylus lol...when i switch to a drawing tablet, it was really awkward for me to use and i never fully got used to it. so im hoping this new ipad will be fun for me like my old android tablet was....plus this time ill have a pen and not just use my fingers :teto_lili:

    it seems like in recent years on tumblr its now cool to like ace/aro people, i remember back in the day when i used tumblr a lot it seemed like everyone was REALLY acephobic

    i had to block so many blogs that seemed perfectly fine until one day they posted something really acephobic and i was like oh this is how it is huh. crazy to see how different the atmosphere on tumblr is now where this kind of stuff wouldnt fly anymore, but it used to be the norm. glad tumblr finally did something right lol

    im looking at the regular ipad (idk what gen it is, its the one apple has currently up on their site) and im ordering it from apple themselves, but the nearest apple store is in a city thats an hour drive away

    since i have to get a new tablet...*sob* ive done a lot of research and decided that i think instead of buying a new drawing tablet im going to get an ipad for art. the question now though is do i went to shell out the extra cash now for the more powerful ipad pro, or stay cheap with a regular ipad although i may need to upgrade in the future. hmm

    i think i decided on just getting the cheaper one now and if i eventually decide to upgrade, i can just sell my first ipad to get a little monies back. :avanna_lili: im kind of excited, not just for drawing but also ipads have nice cameras and my phone has an awful camera and im just thrilled to also be able to take nice pics--

    it kind of bothers me when people mention crypton characters as their fav vocaloid or whatever and someones like "well theyre technically not vocaloids anymore" like...yeah they moved editors now, but its not like that means all their old vocaloid voicebanks are going to disintegrate now lol. macne nana can still be your favorite utau because she WAS an utau, its not like her utau voicebank and all songs with it burst into flames the day her vocaloid voicebank was released.

    does anyone remember a long time ago there was an announced "potential vocaloid" that like immediately fell apart and never happened (used to happen a lot) and her design was purple clothes with orange glowing accents and a brown ponytail and people criticized the art a lot on VO?? i briefly remembered that this was a thing but i cant remember her name and found nothing about it when i googled. i dont think she ever even had demos or anything

    i was on vo up until close too and i remember she was a brief incident and wasnt really brought up in passing afterwards, definitely not stella haha shes too infamous to forget

    we did a bottle return extravaganza today because we havent returned our bottles/cans in over a year because they were closed for a long time do to covid, so we kept throwing bags of them in our storage shed lol...so finally got rid of all those. there were nearly 800 of them. it took several trips since they didnt all fit in the car >_<

    (for those who dont live in states with bottle return deposits, in some us states you pay an extra fee (here in michigan its 10 cents) for recyclable glass bottles, aluminum cans and plastic bottles, and then you return them at stores to their recycling program for your deposit back. i heard the main purpose is to deter littering. we dont have this in nevada where i normally live so when im with my family in michigan it's quite the nuisance tbh, though i understand it has good intent)

    I just started using an iPad for art! You can look up iPads compatible with Apple Pencil (should be all current releases now), I'm using the iPad Air 4th Gen. I personally like using an iPad because it's so easy to just pick it up and start drawing when I'm in the mood, rather than getting my laptop. Plus, I found the app Procreate is EXTENSIVE and competes with computer art software for sure, while also being way more affordable.

    thank you for sharing! i am definitely feeling persuaded to get an ipad lol. a lot of people have told me it makes art more fun for them.
