I think there's likely a lot of unpolished yet compelling material in the Japanese userbase too, only the space is too crowded and now it's pretty hard to get recognition for those producers. I can't see a lot of classic JP producers managing to get the reach they did if they started today

Sorry it took me a couple days, but I would recommend just downloading the import tool from Zero-G's old FAQ rather than go through Sonicwire's system. It's the same tool (Piapro import is a seperate, more automated system)
Preserving miki's tone gets a little strange because miki was also intended to be a realistic capture of Miki Furukawa's voice (which it was, probably the closest V2 to their VP by a large margin), so they could go a lot of directions there.

Speaking terms doesn't imply that they are willing or able to rerecord to be fair. If they were open to recording new samples, I find it pretty unlikely they would have gone with this method instead.
