    it is so interesting to me how flower's popularity as a vocal has really exploded. like i think it just feels normal now how much shes being used but as someone whos been a fan since her release, it was really a slow build, and almost feels like it just exploded after some interesting unique takes on songs w her voice started to catch people's attention. i cant be the only one seeing this lol.... shes definitely had more popularity in time but im quite shocked by how many *popular* original songs i see coming up with her.

    For almost every Vocaloid, I can think of another they could be mistaken for, even by an enthusiast. And for every Vocaloid there's at least one other that could sing the same VSQ without changing how the song 'feels'. But there's nothing that sounds like Flower - and the Vocaloid fandom has always been full to bursting with the rock songs she suits best. I think the slow build is a case of a product that didn't necessarily have the most marketing, but was genuinely in demand!

    I think it took a while for people to really understand how to use Flower because she has a unique voice by Vocaloid standards. Her V4 release probably helped a lot within the Western fandom in particular, because I know some people really vibed with the more masculine/genderfluid design when it dropped.

    i am quite content in this little space of just opening vocaloid when i please, messing with some files and listening to voices, and just closing it after. like im just listening to things for me, cuz i like the voices, and i like that! maybe ill mix a cover, but i dont rly have the guilt to post it. maybe ill share some soon, but its quite nice to just being in my own bubble again.

    you dont have to! if you run custom isntallation u can install just her and not the editor/vsti thats the cauze of messing V2s up:)

    ahh i tried custom install when i did prima a while back and it didnt work, but perhaps i didnt uncheck all the right things! so i will def try that! @patuk

    ummm would anyone with japanese knowledge be willing to help me understand the password for a person's USTs..? idk if thats bad to ask;; i think i understand what it should be, but i dont have the knowledge on kanji to convert the password correctly....

    decided i would make my own status for the tier list patuk made!! i definitely recognize a number of the lowest tier ones but i dont have enough of an impression so.

    also disclaimer but my feelings on IA and ONE are definitely more on their previous banks, and not actually the newest samples we have had of them.... if i was purely thinking of the newest ones theyd be on F/D probably.

    also i will add i dont really listen to the Cevios that much BUT my overall opinion on Cevio is its like. D-F tier anyways so i cant say any of them indivdually would score higher than that. i also just realized i put Bones on C when he was mean to be D oops

    curious what twitter recommends to me.... tweets from the japanese vocaloid side of twitter on the topic of like... popular artists who use miku all the time? whether or not they have or will use someone other than miku?

    always interesting to get a peek into the topics of of the fandom that i wouldnt really look at, mostly because its not in english. i think the topic spawned due to pinnochiop's new song using rin

    i cant tell if the conversations were really against or for using miku or not (i was missing much context as i only clicked through reccomended tweets and replies)-- i kinda felt the tweets i saw were more about feeling if the artist is a 'capable' artist because they are willing to use another vocaloid. additionally saw some good points about how the popular artists being referred to (in this acse, pinocchiop and later deco27) obviously get attention for using miku, so it makes sense they wont deviate, or havent had the same success when they do deviate. though there were some less tasteful tweets insulting the artists for not trying to use another vocaloid....

    so it was less about these people being upset they use a different voice, it was actually judging them for not trying to use other voices at all.

    i do get a lil sad abt the physical vocas i sold a bit ago lol but i had to .... had to do it to them. rip fukase whomstt i did not use that boy at all and the amount of ppl who wanted him just made it worth it in the end. (tho i really just loved the look of his physical box)

    not really saying this to create discussion about anyone specific but just having some thoughts on the vocaloid music i used to listen to. kind of downer thoughts lol but im not trying to be sad, just thinking about how much has changed since i was 16. ive always loved the english vocaloid scene, and the years back with lots of 'small' budding artists, i pretty much purely listened to english artists in vocaloid and flower originals are the only japanese artists i seek out. i remember all the artists i used to listen to a lot and now i dont listen to them at all, not talking about New songs but just replaying in general. used to play the hell outta a lot of 'popular' eng artists 4-5 years ago now but ive since just not played most of them at all and sadly its bc the way they act (and sometimes their fans) have kinda soured their music. more so the artists themselves and not the fans as much tbh, but sometimes they come hand in hand it seems. its a shame how some people present themselves on the internet and i do not doubt that popularity affected it. i think the only english voca artist i still listen too (bc i also just love his sound is oddeeo but even so i see myself listening to vocaloid less and less (it also doesnt help i primarily use spotify and what i do listen to on YT isnt on spotify)

    this isnt rly a sad moment for me, just a calm acceptance that ive really moved on in a lot of ways and i want to be okay with that. i like vocal synths, i like the tech. theyre cool! but ive definitely moved away from the community/fandom a ton in the last few years. and thats fine.

    this doesnt mean u have to absolutely LOVE everything you make. but if you got to a job interview would you constantly self depricate? tell them youre bad at the job youre applying for? of course not. stop putting yourself down for creativity you supposedly do for fun. its ok that not everything is perfect. but i can promise you people do not like hearing you shit on your own work before they even get to see it

    man remember a bit ago i mentioned some kid was trying to get me to hand over my Shadow/Sonic utaus by bribing me with Vivi??? im still seeing them around and its so weird bc theyre bragging about having 'physical boxes' for Vivi and like. yeah there was in fact artwork for her. and you just....printed it on paper haphazardly cut it out to put it in a box, literally printer paper. ok. and i am seeing people going nuts for this. i am so confused....like for one idk why people are looking this thinking it means anything??? i could print out whoever the heck i want and throw them on the box. this kid is really trying to get so much attention for a unreleased vocaloid they cant even use (this person literally bragged to me about having vivi files but 'oh well i cant show you because i can use the dev editor actually' which is odd to say bc its didnt help convince me they were telling the truth lol)

    but its also a shame people keeping dragging Vivi up because theres like. nothing to do with it, if you have it. you cant (really) use it at all. while online talk about vivi isnt very surface level it seems the 'underground' part of vocaloid fans who pirate and pass around dead voicebanks are still obsessed with acquiring her and i do not understand why.

    @morryillusion the reason you can't find anything about her anymore is bc iirc they announced her through Twitter (deleted) and VO (no longer exists) Vocaloid Wiki simply doesn't seem to bother a lot of these "announced with no backing followed by disappearing" vocaloids, probably because there's simply nothing to document.

    yeah i think i saw one discussion thread on vocaloid wikia about her when she got announced but it didnt go much further than that it seems. i noticed as well a ton of deleted tweets. it is probably best there isnt much on her because it (hopefully) means less people will try to seek her out and any other leaked things

    Yeah the only hint found on the Vocaloid wikia is when you go to the cancelled/misc/private projects list (in which you can also find projects that were suposed to be done on vocaloid and ended up on other engines such as H/Hippi and REV)

    Then once somebody posted a re-uploaded leak of her demo song on Sc but not sure if it's safe to share it here otl


    Edit: Ah, seems it got deleted too, but it was up around two months or so ago... Anyway, to add to the story she sounded like a popular UTAU since they shared the same VA
