Tbh, I'm not really upset about Ruby not getting the supposed japanese vb. I think of her as this american-pop vocalist and I dont think that really worked with her japanese VB ( from what I've heard from the demos ).
Lately I've been torturing myself with engrish, even tho the results will never be as good as the ones made with actual english vb there's something satisfying about making it as close to actual english as possible.
So after gaining soooome experience with vocaloid tuning I came to this conclusion: in Vocaloid you use less pitchbends, when you do they're put more strategically vs in UTAU while you can't make a pitchbend wherever ofc you can get away with crazier pitchbends. Agree or disagree?
Tbh, I wanna put more energy into original artwork cuz I need it for portfolio and stuff and I'll post quicker fanarts....when I'll decide to be active on other social media lol. I think this will allow me to engage myself in the community while also being able to focus on important work.
I absolutely love Ruby and I'm little surprised she isn't more popular honestly. I think her enunciation is amazing and she has a lot less tension in her voice comapred to other engloids. I will admit she has issues but so does Gumi and people use her regardless. Maybe I underestimate her issues, maybe I don't hear something in her voice that causes people to not like her that much? Maybe the Ruby fiasco was a lot worse than I thought? Btw it's 100% okay if you dislike Ruby.
eng Nana might have quirky pronunciation but I absolutely love her tone, there's something to it, it's more than just cutesy moe voice to me. I especially love her mid-range, she seems to be most understandable at that range too
