  • Kiyoteru... is in China, apparently.

    I. I don't know. I've never had a package go from Japan to China before coming here. Anyone else had that happen?

Well he's still slated for delivery on the 5th, so here's hoping there's a method to the madness...
    Broke: Act1 vs. Act2 discourse

    Woke:
Acknowledging that Append was the first good Kagamine release

Bingo! They're both capable of producing excellent results in the right hands, and each one had their own strengths and weaknesses, but they perform pretty evenly overall; their Appends took the best of both Acts and removed the worst of the issues, while V4x added more overall stability, at least in my opinion, a wider range.

I don't even know why this is such a huge argument for people. Like, their first two banks were both shit, and I say this as a Kagamine stan. :clara_ani_lili:

Honestly v2 append power makes their original banks irrelevant. I honestly wish we got new recordings for v4x Japanese

I’m a little unnerved by how proud I am of this cover. Like, there’s bits and pieces I’m still trying to change as I work out the mix, but as it is now? I think it’s a perfect blend of controlled yet no-holds-barred. I have Kiyoteru hit a ridiculously high note (for him anyway) near the end, and I somehow made it sound solid, without any loss in power. (By default the note sounds weak and a bit strained.) The rest of the song flaunts his gorgeous mid-to-low range, and it’s just beautiful. I really feel like I’ve brought out the best of it.

My choir director in middle school always said that a disastrous rehearsal gives way to the best performances, and a rehearsal that goes well damns the final show. So applying that logic here, this could, just my luck, be my most hated cover yet. I’m not used to being so proud of my work, and it scares me. :yohioloid_lili:

I think I have a similar “problem” tbh😅, the exact moment I kinda feel proud about something I’ve done I tend to feel somewhat uncomfortable, and fall into thinking that there necessarily might be something that could be improved/or doesn’t work rip; yet, I think that giving credits to the effort you surely put is really important, hence there’s nothing wrong in being proud for something you worked hard for, and which ended up being great as well!😄
(Also, I’m looking forward to it now 🙈🙈🙈)

Oooh this is too relatable I usually feel quite confident with my covers but I'm always asking myself "wait is this actually good tuning or are my ears just dumb" when the majority of my covers get like, 3 hearts and 30 plays lol. However I'm happy that you're proud and you better get rid of those doubts because I can already sense this'll be a banger!!!!
Why, oh WHY does Piapro decide to delete ALL OF MY V4S when I install a new bank or trial?? I found a work-around in uninstalling and then re-installing and re-updating it, but even then, after all that's done, I have to reinstall all of my V4s. Every. Single. Time.

At least I can run multiple V4 installers at one time. And at least, for them anyway, I have V5.
One thing cooler than eating mud is my gf Patuk.

One of these days we're going to use your computer, and I'm going to hack your account while you're getting a drink.

oh no, the big bad hacker peaches2217 is out there to get me!
Man... Tora can really get away with anything and not face any repercussions, save a brief slap on the wrist. They openly pirated and used Kafu and 80% of the comments are just congratulating them and commenting on the cover itself rather than, y'know, the fact that they're apparently monetizing on a cover using a pirated, unreleased voicebank.

And they're well aware they're going to get off scot-free too. Already they're very flippant about the whole thing.

Man, imagine being so good that you can just be all-around awful and acknowledge it and still have a dedicated fanbase.

EDIT: Beyond that, they're deleting comments that are calling them out! A quick refresh and they were all gone, leaving only a trail of mindless praise.

I'm mostly neutral on piracy issues with vocal synths (mainly in relation to VBs being discontinued), but pirating unreleased banks and showing off results online is the pinnacle of shitty.

(Which begs the question, how did that person get the unreleased CeVIO AI banks anyway? I'm sorta confused because they aren't released yet?)

I saw Tora explaining how and I really don't think the info on how to do it should be spread any further. I'm hoping that Techno-Speech is aware of the vulnerability now and can patch things up so it can't be replicated for much longer.

@uncreepy I totally understand not sharing the info here, but based on your mention of a vulnerability, I think I've figured out what might have happened.
Sweetwater got my headphones to me in three days AND gave me candy in thanks for my order, on top of a vinyl sticker to put on my laptop. I'm never ordering from a different company ever again.
It seems I never realize just how much I rely on note bends until I work with a VB who reacts poorly to them.

Xingchen, please... please work with me, sweetie.

Oof if you ever want another Mandarin vocaloid Yan He works extremely well with them! Tho it is a weird language to note bend in general in Vocaloid :<
Of all the things to make an emotionally-sapped peach feel something, it's this.

This video brings me such an indescribable joy and I don't quite know why.

For those who have ordered from AHS to a proxy: how long after they ship it out does it usually take to reach the proxy? The shipping info they gave me "completed" two days ago, but Tenso has no packages or info.

It usually takes a couple of days, but Tenso has to actually log it as well - this can take a day or two after it arrives at their warehouse, longer if it arrived over the weekend or during a holiday.

Alrighty! I think I’ll give it til Monday before I start panicking and sending emails. Thank you!
I'm excited! My headphones, after four years of dedicated service, have finally gone kaput. I went to reorder them, only to find thread after thread of "Y'all still use DT 770 Pros? Ha! They're shit! Here's much better options at compearable prices!"

So now I've got a pair of K371s on their way! I'm eager to see how they compare, and I hope they help me produce even better covers and mixes.
Maybe it’s just because I headcanon her as brash and and a bit crude (but still girly AF) and him as more gentle, but I always found it funny how Crypton tends to portray Rin and Len together; it’s like they wanna make ABSOLUTE CERTAIN you know that Len is cool and masculine and Rin is girly and sweet.

Their V4X designs ditch the mirrored pose in favor of Len looking grounded and confident and Rin looking dainty; half the dance for BRING IT ON is just them striking poses to remind everyone of the fact that they’re a boy and a girl; when talking in official material, Len’s voice tends to get tuned down and Rin’s tuned almost painfully up; their Snow Miku designs this year consist of blue pants and a pink dress (don’t get me wrong, I ADORE Rin’s dress, but nonetheless)...
And Kiyoteru V4 Complete has left the building! (The AHS warehouse building, specifically. They just shipped him out today.)

I was absent-minded and forgot to fill out my complete forwarding address, which I only realized right after placing the order; I promptly emailed them about it and gave the rest of the address. The next day I got two emails from AHS, one pointing out that I had entered an incomplete address and asking for the rest of it, and one that, in essence, said "Oh, crap, you already sent it. Sorry for that last email! We're on it!" I don't know why but it made my day!

I love AHS!!! People were giving Ogata-san (the CEO) crap on Twitter for retweeting a pro-Trump tweet but honestly I've followed him for years and I think it was an honest mistake because once Western fans started tweeting at him about it he deleted it (from what I heard anyway). I mean, the man loves Yuri on Ice so much when he went to Barcelona he took a picture of Sagrada Familia, I don't think he REALLY likes Trump. :teto_lili:(Well i could be wrong but... idk I just don't want to believe it was malicious)
A bit of an embarrassing confession: I got Kiyoteru's Rock bank on an impulse. It was just after Christmas 2018. I got a $100 gift card from my sister's grandparents and was browsing eBay, seeing what I could nab for that much. Kiyo Rock, lo and behold, was right there, his physical bank for $80 ($90ish after tax and shipping).

I didn't particularly care for Kiyoteru. To this day I love Jewelfish and Guilty Verse, but other than that there weren't many uses of him that stood out to me.

So why did I get him?

Because I had just gotten Gakupo for Christmas, who I ship him with, and I felt they deserved to be together.

...even if the reasoning is embarrassing, I'm still very glad I did it, because this cover is one of my best so far, I think.
Y'know? Years ago, I loaned my copy of A Clockwork Orange (the book, not the movie) to a friend. We split ways when we went to separate high schools and I never got it back. So I got another one, but my sister's father threw it out alongside my extensive secondhand book collection.

It's time it found its way back into my arsenal. For how many times I've watched the movie, it's been years since I actually read it.
