  • Ah! I really think I can have this cover up by tomorrow! Gonna get a good night's sleep, get through my shift, and see if I still have the same mindset when I come back to it.
I don't think I'm going to touch Rin Warm for a good long while after this I finish this cover. She seems to passionately hate the thought of connecting her vowels without a sudden audio/pitch spike, and I've yet to find a single work-around. It's been three days.

Oh, my beloved Rin Sweet, why can't you carry this song as well? :kaito_lili:

Hey, don't worry! She's just tricky. Anyway, it's just one spot I'm having issues with; I'm quite happy with the rest!
I always feel weirded out when people try to make Pete look like a pretty anime boy. Like... Bokumono has been filled with pretty anime boys since at least 2009, yet even Pete's 2019 redesign, while shinier and more modernized, retains a sort of plain feel. I remember being very happy the first time I saw it, because it's extremely faithful to his usual design.

The thing is, it's only him. Every other character in the series pre-2009? Pretty 'em up, give 'em big eyes and flowey clothes. But Pete? Nnnnnnnn it just feels so wrong.
Thank you, Zoom, for deciding to crash and refusing to create a new room right as we reach the climax of a THREE-HOUR-LONG HORROR MOVIE. Real nice timing y'got there.

i wanted to write witty comment while were listening but couldnt think of anything :C
Throwback to that time I thought saying "Hey, if anyone has a previous Vocaloid editor and doesn't plan to get V5, can I have your serial so I can get the V5 discount uwu~" was a good idea, and Patuk had to gently explain why that was a horrible idea.

I tend to mock customers who do stupid things in the hopes of saving a buck, yet I can hardly say I haven't done the same. :yohioloid_lili:
    *ahem*

Does anyone have Miku's V3 installers? I've wanted her V3 English for quite some time, and I've been kicking around getting her Japanese, since you can find her quite easily and cheaply second-hand. I wanna try them out to see for sure; like, I've got her Appends and her V4X+English, but at the same time... I'd love to try her out for the trial period, just to see.

I think I'm good at not sounding too overbearingly American! The only problem is, the only accents I can mimic well are Japanese and French (well, Romance languages in general, but French is the one I have the most experience with), and neither quiiiiiiiite translate over into Slavic languages...

Well slavic languages come from very different "category" of langauages than french or jp! It is it's own can of worms and you haven't had contact w them beforehand! As you learn it will come naturally~
Though I've recently become deeply ashamed of my lack of skill in the area, I'm remembering how much I love the French language. I only took two years in high school and didn't retain much, but it was enough to make me adore it. (Truth be told, it's my dream to cover this song with any VB that can pull it off, though given how my last attempt at faux-French went, I'm... too scared to try. :yohioloid_lili:)

Actually, I'd really love to publish that Cangqiong French cover I attempted a while back! Even if the French itself is no good, I'm still very proud of the tuning. I wonder how it'd sound in the new engine...
My goal is to have this cover published by my next day off next week (which would be next Friday). I think I'll be able to chip my way through the fine-tuning, polishing, and mixing by then. My current dilemma is that I feel it's not enough... it's a V2-era song, so my first thought was to keep the tuning similarly simple and straightforward, but now I can't help but wonder if the end result just sounds lazy. But I don't wanna overdo it, y'know? Do I want this cover to sound lazy-bad or pitchy-bad?

On the bright side, I finally got my first raise and a shiny new title at work! Just in time to buy presents. My top priority are a pair of packages that need to ship internationally; after that, I wanna get something small for everyone at work (I'm thinking a big order of Great American Cookies, because who doesn't love Great American Cookies?), then stuff for my family. Nnnnnnnnn, I really hope this paycheck covers all of it, because my next one isn't until after Christmas.
I wanted it to be (mostly) a surprise, but I'm really super satisfied with how it's turning out so far, so! Have a sneak peak at my next cover, featuring a Vocaloid I'm finally using after two years!!

Me, about a week ago: "I'm so excited! I'm gonna have so much fun with this cover!"

Me, now, trying to time no less than five tempo changes to the backing track: "Art is suffering."
What mature male English vocal and cutesy female Japanese vocal would y'all wanna hear duet a bilingual metal song? Asking for... reasons.

So we're unanimous on Big Al. Now just to choose a female vocal! Unfortunately I need one that's both cute AND powerful, so that eliminates several of my options... but I've got a few in my sights~
    Jisenku
    Jisenku
OK yes on that Big Al...

    What about...

Luka? She can be VERY powerful but also be very soft, has a deeper tone & more mature tone which can work well for both soft and hard vocals, so i say mature all around kween

Miku can also be VERY powerful but has higher pitched vocals, and works better as a softy, but can be good as hard vocals, so she's your softer kween IMO (I mean unless you do a Pinocchio P/Omoi)

Otomachi Una is REALLY nice for powerful vocals, but I'm not to sure about softer vocals :p so she is your hard vocal kween

Rin is also really nice for powerful vocals and nice and s o f t vocals, she's your younger all around kween
I’m gonna bite the bullet and ask that person if I can have my V5 serials back. Shot in the dark, but I won’t know unless I try...
Ever since the McDonalds by our store got razed, I’ve developed an addiction to the pretzel shop in the mall. It’s become something of a joke amongst my coworkers and managers: when I take my lunches, there’s a 75% chance I’ll come back with soft pretzels in tow, and “Y’all want a pretzel bite?” has become a part of my routine language. As the head manager puts it, I’m jonesing for them.

The drawback is that they’re quite expensive. A Dr. Pepper and an order of pretzel bites runs me the same as a large 10-piece meal at McDonalds, with substantially less product. But my God, I can’t quit them. They’re heavenly. Salty and soft and just the slightest bit garlicky...
