So I've been binging Sakura Trick again, and I really wanna make a Talkloid of this scene. It's always cracked me up. I'm thinking Miku as Haruka, Rin as Yuu, Luka as Kotone, Gumi as Kaede, and Iroha as Yuzu.

Confession: I desperately wish a full version of this song existed, as well as an off-vocal, because I'd love to cover it with Gumi. Gumi Native would sound perfect with it.
This anime's whole soundtrack is so good. I've got a cover of the ending theme using Miku and Rin in developmental hell.
Seattle Story's gotten a surprising amount of attention on Nico, considering it's a cover of a Chinese song (albeit in Japanese)... it's already pushing 50 views and has 2 MyLists. I'm happy!

Aaah, I'm really happy with my synth productivity lately. Seattle Story II went up a few hours ago, which makes three covers finished in under a week. This is exciting!
Ozzy's new album... I was expecting to rock out, not bawl my eyes out. The whole thing reads like a dying man's lament as he struggles to come to terms with his mortality, and it's so heartfelt and passionate, plus it just sounds great (and it's not ALL melancholy - It's a Raid is such a fun track). Being a metalhead, it's not hard to get caught up in anything heavy, but it's been a long time since anything's actually moved me to tears.
Today is the End is probably my favorite track. It's so underrated, but the chorus is orgasmic.

Fun fact: the off-vocal I've been using is 4 BPM slower than the original song. So I've spent the past hour trying to rectify that so it'll match to the video, and, after much wailing and gnashing of teeth, I figured out how to change the tempo of all files in Studio One! That'll come in handy in the future, I'm sure.

How do you get rid of an upper hissing noise? That's the one real issue I'm having with this. There's a lot of what sounds like hissing engine noise, and this is after noise reduction, compression, and EQ.
I don't say this very often, so listen up motherfuckers.
I fucking love the way this cover sounds. It's already one of the most tender and adorable songs I've ever heard, and the way it sounds when I play it all back really emphasizes that. I can't wait to post it!
Nemu hit the States six hours ago! She shipped to Chicago rather than California... that hasn't happened since I ordered Meiko and Kaito last October. Odd. Anyway, I'm hoping I'll get her by Monday. I'm so excited!

I'm really happy. Our local Target just underwent a major remodel, and they've got so many great new products in their beauty section. They've got palm-free shampoo bars (I'm considering picking one up, though I've already got a full one from Chagrin Valley to use after I get through my current one), and they stocked some new stuff from my favorite brands.
They now carry Shea Moisture's Cannibis Sativa line, including a facial oil that's perfectly pocket-sized and doesn't require refrigeration (unlike regular hemp seed oil), and I just couldn't resist that. I just applied it and my skin feels so soft~
One day I'll be able to make Oliver sound good... one day...

So a song I've been obsessed with lately, "All From Me" by Angela Chang, DOES have an off-vocal... that can only be accessed through a website that requires a Chinese phone number and a Chinese-issued bank card. Of fucking course.
HOWEVER! Some kind soul uploaded an off-vocal of another of her songs to Bili, and I'm currently in the process of extracting it. I either wanna cover it with Cangqiong, whose mature vocals will fit perfectly, or Haiyi, whose more sweet vocals will be an equally good fit, and maybe I could mess with her gender parameters a bit and try to make her sound more mature.
Y'all really need to check out Angela Chang. She's like a goddess of Mandopop.
Yesterday was ridiculously busy, but so much fun. I drove back up to my last college to help one of my former professors/supervisors with a project (and brought my Sin Bin with me and let the ladies in the office have their pick - no more Sin Bin! For now). To thank me for my help, she treated me to dinner, read some of the things I've written since leaving and gave me feedback (that one poem I wrote that I was lamenting over because no one had anything to say about it: she said there was really nothing to say, because it was a professional-level work that conveyed its message and emotions deeply. I really hope she's right), and then she gave me an extra $10 for gas, since the commute is 30 minutes each way.
Class was canceled today, so I slept in, drove to Target, perused Ulta, got some new skincare recs, then had a relaxing lunch at Western Sizzlin.
This has been a good couple of days.
Dammit! Nemu hit the Buyee warehouse today. I ain't waitin' a whole week for that free shipping coupon.
I managed to upload two covers today, one of which has been sitting in my computer for like a year! I wanted to do the same with This is a Love Song, but there's really no saving it... I might see if I can revive it once Meiko NT comes out!
Now which one to do next?
After going through my Soundcloud, I've figured out that I have at least two covers I could knock out and get done in one or two nights if I just sit and work on them. I wanna finish Mist Missing Love first, then This is a Love Song, and then from there... we'll see.
I wanna finish Shoot Him Down, but I can't figure out decent chorus effects, and I'd like to cover Morning Call with Kiyoteru since I still haven't used him, but I'd have to set extra time aside since that one would be from scratch, and then I've got Exile Love Song to complete as well... -
