  • I'm surprised no one is really talking about how you can't buy seeu anymore
Got Tonio working he uses zero g's classic vocals male as his data.

I've working hard on making unofficial ai updates to the lost v2s and finally got prima (female from classic vocals) working
I was thinking about Teto for Synth v and how they called her another Teto. I hope with her success other companies feel more open with putting their characters on other software. I know development of a vocal synths can be expensive but if the character is getting appends why don't try another software in another synthesis style. I feel like people get set in how a character sounds on an engine anything out of it is out of character. Like yes synth V Teto doesn't sound exactly like Utau Teto but why should it what's the point in having a voice update that sounds exactly the same. You can have different flavors of the same character it doesn't lesson the other. I feel weird with the idea of NT. Like they made a whole engine because Miku didn't sound like Miku on V5 but she doesn't sound any more like Miku on NT. I feel like in a world we can have Miku on vocaloid, NT, and an ai synth like synth V they are hitting different niches and if one of them doesn't sell well then the market has spoken.
What happened to twintails Twitter? Does anyone know why Teto's company's Twitter account is banned?

there have been new measures implemented against bots on twitter but they affect basically any account that has some kind of automated tweets or does any one thing too much (liking, retweeting, posting, answering, etc...). Many official accounts have been banned because of that.

they used the Q&A thingy called Marshmallow and that's the suspected reason, a lot of other japanese vtubers and creators have been getting suspended due to using it.

Who wants the new 5 year old akari like what situation do you need that for
Going to post a wip cover that I'm working on. Tried a new tuning style with the goals of giving her a synthetic sound. Feed back would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar enough with how Anri normally sounds to really comment on the tuning, but the track sounds very nice!

definitely has that slight robotic sound to it! sounds nice. the way voice flows definitely gives me that vibe.
Did you know you can open up Synth v project files in note pad and control f to find the vocal modes then you can boost them past 150. It's a game changer for Anri. My personal favorite combo is 500 charm 200 emotional.

Ooh, I like that! In the future I'm probably gonna start being clueless about SynthV lingo because my heart lies with Vocaloid/Piapro Studio, lol

I actually found out how to do this from a YouTube comment of all places yesterday. Maki sounds amazing with it but Kevin, I can't decide if I was testing the wrong svps or if he just sounds bad with that function or at 300% (Solid gets WAY too quiet for one thing so I had to turn up the loudness a lot)
I was just wondering if anyone had an example with Anri so thank you very much for linking that.
Just think about it Bruno :bruno_lili:ai.

    That is all

Given that his and Maika’s voices were reused for Voctro’s own privatized AI synth… I don’t think it’s out of the question. 👀 (I won’t get my hopes up because piracy pretty much took them out of the commercial synth game, but STILL, it could happen!)

I think with all ai banks having cross lingual. I think it's probably the best chance of success for them. I hope voctro labs get a discount/ no licensing fee since they are the ones making the technology.
With a day of knowing v6 I'm generally positive about I do have some concerns. My biggest concern and what turns me off of it is that vocaloid 6 is still using it's modified xsampa for English. This system leads to English vocaloids sounding off or less clear compared to something like arpabet. I was hoping the ai would fill in the gaps but they sound as muffed as regular native English vocaloid in v5. I am excited for the cross lingual feature v3 era me would of been blown away by that feature and it sounds really good in my opinion. Another concern I have is that all of these features only work with the new ai banks. I do wish they ported them to ai or something like what synth V is doing with ai plus (if they ever release it). It just feels weird that all these older banks are stuck in a side version of the editor that's basically v5. The reason why it's a concern is that there wasn't that many releases in v5. A lot of the companies have left vocaloid and found success on other softwares which makes me question what will 3rd parties look on vocaloid. Vocaloid 6 is extremely exciting and hopefully we actually get major functional updates like parameters in the future.
Was using gumi v4 and anri in a song together and I forgot how choppy standard synthesis can sound. I think that is something over looked in the conversation about ai vs non ai vocalsynths. Is that ai can fill in the gaps and resample in a way that it can sound less choppy and more natural.

In all seriousness, I think this one is heavily dependent on both the engine and the vocal. Standard synths can be choppier overall, a problem exaggerated by certau vocals, but can often be smoothed out. AI synths can be smoother out of the box, but react poorly to things like tests or glottals, resulting in a choppy sound.

And then there’s whatever’s going on with CeVIO AI, because good LORD that engine loves glottal stops. Perhaps it’s safest to say that CeVIO AI is an outlier and should not be counted. 😆

Honestly, I don’t think either choppiness or smoothness should be looked down upon or elevated over the other. For some people, that smooth realism is the end goal, and for others, the more synthesized sound of standard engines is a key part of the charm. It’s all a matter of preference!

I think some voice types work better in standard voice synths over AI, and vice versa. For example, an unrealistic or characterised voice like Miku is more likely to sound better in a traditional synth because realism isn't the end goal of the voice, and any issues like choppiness can sometimes be part of the charm. (In hindsight, Miku V2 is choppy compared to later versions, but noticing that now makes me oddly nostalgic for V2's engine quirks). On the other hand, voices like Saki will sound better in AI because a realistic result was always the intended goal.

(Er, why is this scenario here...?)

If Rin broke into my house at 4am and drank all my diet Coke, I'd stop her before she left and be like, "Ok, here's what you do. Call up all your friends and tell them to come over and bring their drink orders with. I'm going to order us some pizzas, too, so get their topping preferences."

Regarding the real conversation, I agree with @peaches2217 and @Blue Of Mind. Sorry, I just wanted to dwell in my pizza party daydream for awhile....

I don't know if it's just weird exchange rates or are synth Vs getting more expensive? I understand inflation is a thing but it is a lot to go from 80 to 120 but I hope these companies are more stable from it and can make enough to make new voices
