  • Was ready to buy AI VOICE for the Kotonohas and Yuzuru, but now that they're up for preorder, I'm... having second thoughts orz. Going by their site demos, they don't sound too much different or better than their Voiceroid versions which I already own, but buying them now would be $200 vs if I change my mind and want them later, they'll be over $300.... I think the smart move here would be to save my money for Maki's release later this year, and just hope I don't change my mind and suddenly start desperately wanting AI VOICE orz

    It feels like they might just be... ports of their voiceroids for the most part? apparently yuzuru still has an issue from his voiceroid version regarding his anger parameter. his dark voicebank sounds amazing however

    Yeah, I'm just not sure if it's worth paying $200 for them both when I already own their Voiceroids orz. The new banks are nice, but they have less features than the normal ones so it's just.... ehhh. Problem is if I wait and want them later they'll be much more expensive, but if I can't justify them now I think I'll have even less justification for them later... so I feel like I'm better off waiting for Maki who'll be expensive no matter what ;;

    Yeah if I was in your situation I would be saving for Maki LOL... like I'm tempted to get Yuzuru because I don't have his VOICEROID and it's relatively cheap as a preorder, but also I want Rikka's SynthV more...
    Galaco physical auction went up to $200... ehh as much as I want her box, I don't want it enough to pay $100+ more than it'd cost to just buy her digitally kjndskfjnds

    She ended up going for over $400, so I'm glad I didn't try to go for her after all fskjnfdksjfn

    This is why I try to catch 'loids on digital even though it's riskier because it's cheaper and there are less chances all DLs get sold out

    Yeah, I get the appeal completely! For me I just like having the physical box, and honestly Galaco for me is more of a "just to have her" thing since she comes with Talk and that's really all I'm interested in. I have every single Voiceroid (+Meika Talk) physically, so to me it'd feel weird if I had Galaco and she was the only one I didn't have a box for orz. But I don't need her so badly that I'm willing to drop $400 on her ;;
    AHS' international shipping went up to $105... nooooo thank you

    Holy FUCK.

    Heard about it on the Discord just now - apparently, the shipping hike might have something to do with Japanese postal services still not doing international shipping because of Covid?

    I've heard you can still buy AHS products on Amazon JP, but you won't get any of the bonuses that are usually offered to customers who buy directly from AHS's site.

    Yeah, there's a notice on the page saying it's due to COVID (although... they waited kind of a long time for this, aha) and it's only temporary.

    I'm just glad I was able to get an order in for the plushies before the price hike ;; Even the usual shipping price is too expensive for me, so I only do it for group orders. Otherwise I just use forwarding services or buy from Amazon JP.
    Seika's crowdfunding campaign's been live for a couple of days now and there's only 13 backers... it's 16% funded and the goal isn't that high compared to other crowdfund synth projects, but it's kinda worrying. I feel like she barely got any attention too, and with all the new announcements that just happened she's just gonna get buried even more orz

    I'm sure she'll reach her goal by the end, but seeing this is kinda sad (Tsuina's campaign hit its goal in less than 24 hours). Seika deserves better than that

    Part of it's probably because it wasn't really... advertised by AHS? Like yeah they did retweet her tweets about it, but Tsuina talked her campaign up for a few months before it finally launched, and Seika just kind of did it out of nowhere. Tsuina also got a whole livestream dedicated to her campaign, but Seika won't get that opportunity (today's stream is about Maki, Rikka, and Recotte Studio -- there may be a mention of Seika somewhere in there but it won't be focused on her at all, so I'm not sure if it'll help); next livestream will be in January probably and Seika's campaign will almost be over at that point

    It's just.... aah.

    It's really sad to see... I guess another problem is the rewards are kinda... terrible? Like if you don't live in Seika itself the tax deductible doesn't mean anything, and to get any sort of return you have to pledge 35,000JPY (~$340), which is just a clear file set and acrylic panel. To actually get her SynthV VB out of it you'd have to donate 55,000JPY (~$530), so I guess it makes sense why nobody is pledging.
    Kyomachi Seika plans on starting a new crowdfunding campaign soon. No details on what it'll be yet, but she gave a hint in that she wants to be on "another tool aside from Voiceroid" so it's a probability that she'll be trying for a singing bank.

    Source is at the end of this video (), but if you have time the whole thing is cute as she tries to imitate her Voiceroid's tone.
    Tsuina-chan apparently plans on making three 3D models if her Synth V crowdfunding is successful:

    It's a huge thread about crowdfunding in general and the breakdown of costs and fees and sales tax; I'd make a post about it but it's not really about Synth V in general (besides the part that talks about how recording for two different Synth V banks is crazy expensive) and there's no dedicated Tsuina thread aside from her Voiceroid one, but... eh. I think it's an interesting thread; the expenses add up and she seems worried about how much she should make the goal, but she'll delete the thread soon probably so it's not even worth posting about orz

    I just thought this was interesting, since... uh, I didn't know she planned on making three models.
    As expected, there's a popular tweet going around asking AHS/TOKYO6 to reconsider the Rikka CeVIO decision. People aren't upset so much about the idea of moving to CeVIO, but that it isn't what they paid for and were expecting, which I think is entirely reasonable. I think the best method would've been to release Rikka as a VOICEROID first, then used the profits from that to expand her to CeVIO orz.
    wait I. didn't expect Rikka to be announced to no longer be being developed for voiceroid
    I wonder if Rikka Synth V will be AI?
    I think Rikka's release date will be announced on Thursday, along with her boxart and demo. (Could be Voiceroid or Synth V, I feel like it's the former but it could very well be the latter. Maybe both?? ... Probably just one or the other)

    Reasoning: AHS' press releases about new products Usually are announced Thursday nights (Friday in Japan), Kiritan's CeVIO AI announcement was no exception. We already know the livestream on the 30th will be about Rikka, which doesn't make sense if there's nothing new to talk about her, so... probably Thursday we'll get the official confirmation.

    Only thing is they said they'd be talking about Synth V too, so... maybe her Synth V really is done. Though iirc it took much longer for Tsuina-chan's Voiceroid to release after her fundraiser (Tsuina-chan has two banks but Rikka's supposed to be getting three emotions which I would assume takes the same amount of time to record as an entire bank each)... but I also feel like it'd be weird for Rikka's Synth V to be finished before her Voiceroid when her entire fundraiser was for her Voiceroid. Ahhh I dunno, I just know we'll get something about a final Rikka product on Thursday.

    I just like making these prediction posts bc I guessed the Exact date Kiyoteru V4's press release would be on weeks in advance back in 2015 and people thought I was psychic haha, but it's not too hard to predict once you learn AHS' patterns.

    (This is where AHS comes in to prove me wrong this week)
