  • Whenever I see a random popular account with thousands of followers post about the miku made x meme out of nowhere it strikes fear into my heart
    I've been listening to koyori for years but somehow I never knew they made Hitorinbo envy, another Miku song I really like
    When you see a bunch of people compare a hip hop project with real life voice actors singing to Vocaloid thats how u know there's still a lot of confusion about what it is (or is vocaloid music just so absorbed into internet culture that people will compare it to anything? idk)
    The Miku made x meme is now starting discourse all over the internet...this isn't how I wanted Vocaloid to be relevant in 2019
    People say vocaloid is dead but we literally find out new things about it all the time
    Even though I was a vocaloid fan when I was a young teen, I cannot relate to people who are like "wow I loved Vocaloid when I was a 12 year old!" whenever someone brings up story of evil/alice human sacrifice/other iconic older songs...i'm just totally over most of those songs/producers and they're like...the last thing I think of when I think of vocaloid now

    Even mothy doesn't think Daughter/Servant are very good now (although he's grateful they let him continue making music)

    Idk Vocaloid is still about the creative spirit/community collaboration and mothys songs are definitely that, I guess I just...moved on

    I can remember Daughter/Servant of Evil and Alice Human Sacrifice being big, but the instrumentals and tuning in those songs don't hold up now. ^^;
    Now that I think about it, Ruby kind of reminds me of the tone most feminine english utaus have

    Hm, I see what you mean although I feel like Ruby sounds little more juvenile, when someone says typical feminine english utau I think voice like Al!ce16 ( and this isn't me insulting Al!ce16 I'm pretty fond of her :p ).

    Yeah you're right but Ruby is the closest of the Vocaloids we have

    There's actually a few similarities between idol series and seiyuu projects like hypmic or paradox live and vocaloid. The difference is that vocaloids are digital voices and the content is user generated instead of being made by a company
    Am I the only person who didn't go through a phase where they thought 96neko was a vocaloid...? I was introduced to her through people saying she was an utaite.

    I never thought she was a Vocaloid, but i definitely got confused on whether she was an UTAU or an utaite at first.

    I never thought she was a Vocaloid. But I did think Reol and Kradness were Vocaloids at one point when I was really new to the scene! XD
    The big difference between Western/Japanese vocaloid community is that Japanese producers and artists have way more of a presence in pop culture ...emon and Yuyoyuppe made music for A3 and Akiakane(artist of the fanmade rolling girl PV and Butterfly on your right shoulder) designed the characters in paradox live 🤩

    Memai's voice reminds me of one of my favorite utaus, I think they'll make a pretty decent duet. ZRO is pretty interesting. Thanks for sharing them!
