  • I've never been one for stanning the Kagamines, but the prospect of their V2 banks being reworked for Piapro... not only do they have a lovely timbre, but it'll also be a long overdue voicebank - we'll finally get a neutral bank for them and not power & two soft banks with no in-between kfgfg.
I recall someone saying the NT samples were edited to be shorter for clarity/pronunciation and likeness reasons, Which makes me think that's why she sounds slightly static/buzzy. Since shortening an UTAU sample pretty much gives a similar-ish result. The only reason this came to mind is because I remembered Macne Nana Petit's sample looping in one of her notes (which is probably an occurrence in multiple voicebanks) whereas Miku NT's notes sound completely straight - likely due to how short the sample actually is. Of course they use different methods of synthesizing but my mind just went straight to that haha.
as someone who is so used to hearing singers actually breathe between notes, I find myself occasionally holding my own breath when I can't hear breaths in vocaloid songs. sometimes my brain is hyper aware of breaths in songs and then it sounds unnatural, when other times I don't even notice. flip you, brain 😬
Whilst waiting for my ipad to be repaired I've started brainstorming ideas for a Vocaloid story that I'll eventually draw (a doujin if you will). burnout from tuning is a frequent thing for me, so it's a nice outlet for unspent creativity. I'll eventually expand in a journal post when I get round to it!
I remember a long time ago I made a WIP featuring SeeU covering Dope... I'm by no means a fan of BTS but I feel a sudden compulsion to cover it again. Hopefully there's a clearer instrumental available!
