  • In MMD, how can I make the model lip sync?
Gunna trying making a short MMD! First one ever. Any tips?

Lesee… a few of my tips would be to find shaders that you like, but never leave the lighting and effects at default! Leaving’em at default will make your video over saturated and destroy the quality!
Uh… all my advice is currently slipping my mind so I suggest checking out LearnMMD.com for some good tutorials!

Could someone help me? I have got the Melodyne demo to try to make a vsqx for Mai Mai Mai but every time I go to import the music and see the notes, it just displays the music.
I'm doing a song with Macne Nana English V4 and was curious could someone give me a better way to say 'suffer' to make her sound more natural?

Meaning other words that mean something similar to "suffer?" Or better phonemes for "suffer?"

In the first case, you might consider "bear" or "endure," maybe. A book called a thesaurus can be helpful with this sort of thing; if you don't have access to one of those, you could even look up "synonym for suffer" on Google, or look for "online dictionary" or "online thesaurus" and search there. For a quick option, there's always Dictionary.com.

In the second case, you could always make a thread in the Studio to share what phonemes you're currently using and ask for alternatives!

Better phonemes is what I meant.
Another song on Soundcloud :D Miku English V4X- Romeo and Cinderella

It sounds good! A few tips for you it really helps with English vocals off the top of my head is that it helps to use - a lot like say you are having them sing the word Okay you could go [@U] [-] [k eI] [-] instead of just a big note you could even avoid using the @U or eI and use the other vowel phonemes for a more natural sound :) Sadly I can't offer many tips on this method because I mainly use Sweet Ann for English... and she does not handle vowels following vowels well at all :x

Can anyone recommend good parameters to use to make English vocaloids more human? Of course, I tune the song and change the velocity but what else can I do? I’m doing Romeo and Cinderella with Miku’s English voicebank btw.

Brightness can really help with the tone, of course pitch is always helpful (tho English can really do well with note bends just gotta work with the phonemes) and of course breaking up the word into smaller notes and messing with the phonemes can help a lot with pronunciation with English vocaloids! :)

Okay, since the word ‘dreams’ sounds weird when typed into a vocaloid English voice bank isn’t the best. Any tips to make it sound more human? I’m doing a Romeo and Cinderella cover but in English with Miku. You can tell she says the word ‘dreams’ but it sounds just weird.
I want to create a vsqx but don’t want to use Melodyne since it is supposed to be expensive. Is there another program I could use which is free?

Do you have Piapro? If you do, you should be able to export vsqxs from there. If you want to make a midi file and then import it into a Vocaloid editor, I’m pretty sure Reaper can do that and it’s a free DAW. You wouldn’t be able to enter lyrics until you bring the midi file into Piapro or a Vocaloid editor, though.

Edit: Utau users please correct me if I’m wrong, but I think you can create a UST in Utau and then use Utaformatix to convert it to a Vsqx: sdercolin/utaformatix3

I have Piapro :) it’s just, I want to make a vsqx for Mitchie M’s song Mai Mai Mai since I haven’t seen any online
Macne Nana’s V4 English voice bank can be so hard to tune. Any tips?

i find her h phoneme to be incredible. sometimes swap v sounds for f (i forget the phoneme soz). i use tS instead of t sometimes (e.g. for true she says turuu which is weird). also swap I for e sometimes

thanks. Her voice is beautiful but difficult to tune even compared to Miku’s English voice.
Does anyone know where to find a good vsqx/vsq for Sadistic Music Factory? All the ones I find have the part where Miku says “Welcome to my Music Factory” isn’t there.
Okay, so I’m almost done tuning Portrait of Pirate F. Roles:

    Len V4X- Peter Pan
    Rin V4X-Tinkerbell
    Rana V4-Native American
    Fukase- Hook
    Una4 Sugar- Mermaid

I don’t want it to sound bad and take more time on it. How can I make them sound human? I find Una and Rana easy to tune same as Fukase but I still want them to sound human. Any tips?
Has Covid gotten you interested in any new activities? Mine is vocaloid. I have always found it interesting how people make covers and music and I hope to make music someday

@vocaloidcreatornoob Restrictions have been easing in the UK since lockdown was imposed in March, but masks in public will be mandatory from tomorrow. England is still getting the brunt of Covid cases and deaths because it's the largest and most urbanised nation, however.

in Canada (in Ontario where I’m from) people have to wear masks inside a store. People still complain and I think, “Just wear it.” We just entered stage 3 last week. I’d honestly never thought I’d need to wear a mask inside a store, I don’t mind though. It’s easy to follow the rules.
What programs do you guys use to make your Vocaloid songs in?

I’ve been using Logic lately, but I’ve also used Studio One and FL Studio. Of course I haven’t finished anything, mainly just getting ideas out of my head and into some form of music. Logic is by far my favorite of the three because it doesn’t rely on loops/patterns like FL and (imo) has better default VSTs than Studio One. I also like that you can view the midi in a music staff, but I rarely use that feature.

I think most vocal synth original song makers use FL Studio or Studio One. Personally, I write my songs on guitar, write the parts in Guitar Pro, then import the MIDI from that into Studio One. FL Studio is supposed to be easier than Studio One (I've tried both, but used Studio One for like a year before trying FL Studio, so it was frustrating trying to get it to do the same stuff). Learning a DAW is just a big learning curve, honestly. There are free DAWs, too, like Reaper and Cakewalk, but I haven't tried them.
