  • Trying out lineless art while waiting for my IEMs to arrive on sunday. So far so good. (Also had a faint pink line on a covid home test today so going to get a pcr test done on sunday too.)
My mom gave me a little bit more to spend so I ordered a set of in-ear monitors instead of fussing with earbuds anymore. They should arrive on Sunday! The msrp is 300, but amazon currently has them for 230 and they get very very good reviews across the board so hopefully they fit ok and sound good. (I feel weird going into the pro side of things when I’m really just a hobbyist, but I have so many sensitivities and get migraines very easily that it’s hard to find audio equipment that works. :/)
Gumi's AI Voice design is so cute! I wonder who did the artwork for her.
Back to the drawing board with earbuds. The airpods were great, but now they won’t connect to my pc at all and that was the point. :(
So I used to think tuning in vocaloid was harder than tuning in utau, but now it’s the opposite. Even only using pitch bends and fiddling with portamento timing, it’s still easier than utau tuning now.

I feel like what most people perceive as easier depends on what they start with. UTAU users will say that UTAU tuning is easier, and Vocaloid users will say Vocaloid is easier. I do think that sinking proper time into both will help you decide which is easier, though.

Yeah I started in 2012 with utau and 2016 with vocaloid, so probably enough time has passed that I’m able to more objectively compare the two.

Why is it so hard to find wired earbuds that are not bass attenuated??

Though, AFAIK, Airpods are wireless, now that I think about it.... You might get good results from other, wired, Apple headphones, though.

I feel the wired Sony XB (extra bass) lineup pretty good in terms of bass, for example the MDR-XB55, they give a very warm sound but not overwhelming bass and still have the Sony signature "club" sound, very balanced and pleasant to listen for hours :miku_ani_lili:
also the MDR-EX lineup is very good, a bit less bass but still incredible, especially when the base models have prices of 2000-4000yen (in Japan you can find a bigger lineup of headphones)

Thank you so much for your suggestions, but I think I didn’t word my original post correctly. I was looking for balanced/natural sounding earbuds, which it turns out are very pricey and end up being aimed at professionals. I was gifted a pair of balanced open back headphones a while back and normally I use those for mixing and casual listening, but the right speaker is not behaving properly lately.(Ultrasone 2990i‘s. They are amazing headphones, but I’ve found the company very hard to deal with.)

I ended up getting Airpods Pro since I’m on ios and they’ll only be used for listening and tuning. The bass isn’t too bad actually and using them on ios is pretty seamless.
It feels like Dreamtonics is making the users the beta testers.

There was conspiracies that this is all to make Weina look better in the long run, but honestly I don't believe it. But I am concerned about the quality issue like they have a growing cast that can have nuances so I can understand that they can have quality control issues. I hope this is a sign for them to take more care about the quality of synthesis

I'm wondering if Dreamtonics should have official beta testers so this kind of thing stops happening so frequently.

@Blue Of Mind honestly that would probably be wise. They’re not a tiny startup anymore; surely they can afford official beta testers, and if not, I know plenty of people would happily apply for such a task.
I just literally downloaded all of the lite Synth V vbs. I'm so glad they did lite vers instead of free trials, it makes it so much more accessible.

And very capable too, i don't like the UI of it but definitely a good free synth to start with and their free vbs sound great out of the box.

tbh i personally disagree, they're nice free alternatives to the full thing but give you awful idea of what the full thing is like and are subjected to go digging for more information or p much asking someone for the full vb to give u proper idea:/ but that's just my 🧅

It's also ultimately a great marketing strategy; using Eleanor and Maki as lite versions for a long while made me more enticed to upgrade them, and more confident that upgrading them was a good investment.
I'd love to see some of the AHSloids on SynthV. Most likely not going to happen though. :/
I heard Rolling Girl today and it made me so sad. It's been a few hours and I still feel heartbroken. Never been like this before.
There's nothing like covering something with tempo changes and having to jump through hoops in multiple programs to get work done. :/

    That's sound fun.
    maybe.
So Hippi is a vsinger now. Her latest cover includes IA and One as backing vocals.
The steam release of Project Diva is so much cheaper than the switch release. I feel cheated somehow. :(

it's the same price as the switch release was for me. how much was the switch release for you?

The switch release was usd $60 plus there’s a $30 dlc bundle I haven’t gotten yet. The steam release has all of that for $40 and the $35 dlc are all songs not in mega mix for switch.

oh, for me the switch release for me was only 40! i wonder why it was different for us.
