Hello Everyone,

This is the second track from my EP "Prologue", released last month. It loosely fits into the Symphonic Metal/Rock genre. The first track on the EP is an instrumental. The third track is an instrumental of the second.

Thank you very much for anyone who chooses to listen. I plan on releasing several more full length albums in the coming months, all using GUMI and instrumental versions of the vocaloid tracks.

Cool! I'd be interested to know more about the world you're building with this song, if the other songs you're planning deal with it.

Yes, the next album I release (hopefully in a few months) will be a full length concept album. The plot will be somewhat reminiscent of a high fantasy, ala Lord of the Rings, or a JRPG. Everything has been written...I just need to finish recording the guitars . Thanks for listening, my friend.

Hello again! I have a new song for everyone. It is the 3rd track from my upcoming self-titled epic/symphonic metal concept album featuring Megpoid Gumi. It is set to be released on Sept. 18th in all major online music stores and streaming services (Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple, iTunes, Amazon, etc.). I will also be uploading every track from the album (including instrumentals) on my youtube channel.

The album tells a high fantasy story through the lyrics and video. I hope you enjoy this song. I plan on uploading two more videos, one per week until the release date (Sept. 18th), then they all go up on my channel.

Wow!!! This sounds so good, Megpoid is such a good fit for this song! Although metal and rock aren't my favorite genres anymore, I can always appreciate how talented people who make this kind of music are. The guitar in here is seriously incredible, and I'm really amazed by how well Megpoid's vocals work with it because I usually feel like voice synths sound out of place in this genre.

Thank you very much! The guitars were really hard for me to record for this album. It's the main reason why it took me so long to make this album (also the production).

I think the key for vocal synths to sound good in rock and metal is all in the mixing. I have a string of devices a mile long in my DAW just for vocal, and all are necessary. Plus volume and eq automation every now and then. There's still some spots where I could have done more, but I decided to just leave it as is mostly, with little automation. I could drive myself crazy with that aspect. Thanks for listening!

I agree, that guitar sounds seriously amazing! Where did you come up with the idea to make an album that tells a story like this? It's a neat idea!

You've referred to this as a concept album a few times--does that mean that's a genre of music that does this kind of storytelling?

Thanks! I think "concept album" is a general phrase used for any music album that tells a story throughout, or has all the tracks around one unifying idea. I just use that phrase to let people know that the album isn't just a collection of songs, but one that tells a singular story through the music and lyrics.

I remember writing the lyrics for a few songs as I went along, and it just happened spontaneously. I wrote the instrumental music first in most cases, even the lyrical melody, and actual lyrics second. I think of the lyrics as there to just enhance the music, as well as to have a female vocal sound, which I like Gumi a lot.

After I wrote the lyrics, and was making the videos and preparing the track summaries for Bandcamp, I decided to flesh out the plot more with narration so it made more sense. It was difficult to have a complete plot with detail in the lyrics without being too wordy and distracting. I just wanted the lyrics to enhance the music already there.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

A new week, and the 4th track from my upcoming album is up on Youtube. It is an ambient piano piece featuring Megpoid Gumi, of course. The heavy stuff doesn't kick in until near the end. It's more akin to rock than metal at that point, so hopefully anyone will be able to enjoy it!

Thanks a bunch, peaches. Hopefully when all my videos are uploaded for all the tracks, I'll get some traction. If it wasn't for this forum and reddit, I don't think I would have a single view.

The 5th track from my upcoming album. This will be the last unique track to go live on Youtube before the release date (Sept. 18th). I will make the instrumental versions of "The Journey", "Time", and "The Battle" live on Thursday, if anyone's interested in those. Hope you enjoy!
