It reminds me of the phase some girls go through where they pretend to hate pink.

Luckily I haven't seen that at all. People will ironically shit on Vocaloid only bc Yamaha's been pretty quiet while SV and CeVIO are busy, but people still openly listen to, draw, and talk about Vocaloids in my corner of fandom. That sounds annoying to hear 😩

Lucky you, once you're integrated in it's not as bad but I feel like it's especially noticeable when you're a newbie nowadays as there's active attempt at gatekeeping newbies from Vocaloid, at least that was my experience. I expressd interest in Vocaloid and was staright up told to not even bother cuz it sucks and they hate it and to just stick to SV, not exaggerating I was staright up told that.......while the same person and people like them continue to actively enjoy and buy vocaloids...and I don't think that's right...also while I get ironical clowning on Vocaloid it creates really hostile environment for newcomers :C

I wish the community would be..more helpful...I could've been directed to Piapro, I could've been directed to Mercari or other sites I could get second hand editors from that I otherwise wouldn't have known about as a newcomer, I could've been informed about crossgrade campaign but no....it's been decided that Vocaloid sucks now and since you came at the wrong time you don't get to enjoy the huge library of vociebanks it has to offer..."but we do tee-hee :3c" This is the only place I've been to where people actually attempt that and don't straight up say "Don't BUy vOcAloiD"

And sorry I pulled "wiki mod 10 paragraphs" on yall but it's topic that's pretty personal and it's something that's big issue in this community imo

And yeah Yamaha's active with Vocaloid but not in the traditional sense, they're doing more private projects currently.
