As much as I stan Benbu, he's honest-to-God the most inconsistent VB I've ever used. You hear all those volume jumps? Every note above a B4 had either G3 Soft or F4 Falsetto attached, whichever sounded the best, and other than that and a bit of fiddling with Tension I didn't touch anything.
Why must he be like this.
(His Engrish really isn't bad though! SVS's phoneme editing makes this stuff a breeze.)
To save myself some grief and a little money, I've been temperature training! I'm very, very hot-natured, and springs/summers here are awful. But y'all know how much it costs to run air conditioners. So each day I've been turning the air up a little more and a little more, and just running a fan in my room when I can't handle it.
The recommended temperature is 78F, and so far I'm on I think 74? So far so good!
Ah~ my subscription to my VPN had expired, but I have the money for a yearly plan now, and I was super, super satisfied with it. Unlimited access to Chinese sites is now in my hands once more~

I took and completed an order for someone whose website was glossbabeofficial.com. I was like "Gloss Babe. Gloss + a play on the term Boss Babe. She shills Lipsense, bet." A solid 30% of my customer base are MLM pushers but this one got points for creativity, so looked it up out of curiosity.
Turns out, nope, she actually runs a legit business, selling homemade lip and skin and body products! I'm gonna place an order soon. Her stuff is so colorful and looks so good, AND she operates right out of my town. Talk about supporting local!
But also y'all should check her out because she seems nice and her products seem nice too.
Apple can suck it. It turns out my device is one in a line of defective products, and if it suddenly drops your cellular data no matter what you try, you can have it fixed for free!
Provided it's within a four-year timeframe. If your device you bought in March 2017 worked perfectly until May 2021, and that issue is KNOWN to be a result of a defective line and nothing within your control, well, that's just too damn bad. Dish out $500 for another old model and sell the defective one for $20 worth of scraps.
Thankfully it won't be too terrible because it's part of my dad's phone plan, and since I've had it for so long the upgrade won't cost too much. But like... really? Fucking really?
I'm a little disappointed that Solaris will be primarily an AI bank with a Standard as merely a stretch goal. AI produces better realism when done correctly, but it also limits the VB so badly... I adore Rikka's AI but it's so, I dunno, stiff? compared to her Standard, and that's a trait that's true across all AI/Standard synths I've heard.
That said, I'm still very happy, and I'm excited to see her future and how she'll grow! Plus I'm almost confident she'll meet that stretch goal. I just... the reason I love Eleanor so much is because she's one of the most flexible native English banks we have. And I'll take flexibility over realism any day. -
