God, Kafu's the textbook definition of a trainwreck VB development. She almost makes DDR look competent.

I agree about Kafu's development being odd, but I'm out of the loop on Dex and Daina (Ruby, on the other hand, I'm very well aware of). Would someone mind informing what Dex and Daina's deal is/was?

Dex and Daina's engineer was, iirc, underpaid, the VBs themselves were poorly recorded in an inadequate environment, and their VPs are reeeeeaaally unprofessional, which is the part that bothers me most (A*i made a comment about Len's "little shota panty shot", regarding a portrayal of him that was blatantly underage, on top of some concerning portrayals of LGBT people as little more than fetish bait (being a WLW myself, I'm beyond uncomfortable knowing a Vocaloid VP refers to WLW as "yuris"), and L*pin's known to lash out in response to criticism - when he expressed interest in recording Dex for SynthV, a fan asked if he planned on recording the samples in a better environment for optimal results, and he responded with a hateful status saying that, if he was ever asked that again, he'd record Dex on a phone just to spite the fans). Their initial development wasn't as rough as Ruby's but their ongoing development and publicity is definitely tarnishing. And that's not even getting into the Vocamerica fiasco, and how shady and even outright scummy their usages of DDR are...

Ouch--that's... yeah. None of that is very good. Also, yeah, I remember Aki's comment about Len, though I didn't realize A*i was like that about LGBT people... that's a MASSIVE yikes. Do you have the source for this? I'm not entirely surprised, but I always like to be able to see the source of information for myself when possible (you can just PM it to me, as I presume it may not be suitable to share publicly on the forum). Also I remember following Lupin for a very short time on Twitter because he was previously on Vocalounge and behaved pretty decently there, but I distinctly remember unfollowing him the instant he made that status and I got sick of him saying some other stuff that came off as hateful and toxic, tbh. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be annoyed just a bit by being asked a lot of repetitive questions, but... professionalism, y'know? It's not good to lash out on social media in response to something like that. Seems they're both incredibly unprofessional.
Also, do tell about Vocamerica, because I like to be in the know on these things so I'm not totally out of the loop, haha. The most I know is Daina's VP did a kickstarter for Vocamerica and supposedly hasn't delivered on the rewards for the backers or something along those lines, plus uses the kickstarter page to promote her own stuff or something? I don't keep up much with DDR, so this is only the bits of information I've heard in passing.

Not only did they not deliver on the rewards, but there were only a handful of poorly-animated concerts, and the worst part: it turns out that every last penny of the money fans gave was spent, and not at all exclusively on Vocamerica-related things. It was a huge clusterfuck of poor planning and financial irresponsibility.
