  • Personal mission: Finding ordinary songs that sound close to a stereotypical Vocaloid songs
In another universe I think this could have been a Gumi English original:

hmu if you have any contributions for this genre

Since it got launched and revealed, this song Guetta made really screams Vocaloidish for me and I can't even explain why.... Perhaps because it shares some chord progression with some many songs I've heard through those years maybe ? =o I can't get it out of my head whenever it is aired on the radio ù_ù (as a result I can't help it, but I'd see well Miku or even any of the Native Engloids being used to cover it but m'well I should keep it to myself orz )

Please do not criticise Hajime Sorayama. I am actually a disconcertingly attractive robot in real life so this is Representation for me
When I was a beginner, I liked being told 'You don't need to learn music theory', because what I heard was, 'You don't need to do this extra work'. In reality, music theory turned out to be a cheat sheet. You can use trial and error to figure composition out on your own, or you can ask other people what techniques they've learned. Their knowledge is music theory. Rather than being extra work, it saved me time.

Sometimes I think when we tell beginners 'You don't need to learn music theory', we unintentionally make their journey more challenging. Music theory isn't a walled path that forces you in one direction, music theory is the map that tells you where you are. I think it's pretty handy.
It's interesting to see how much love and appreciation the vocal synth community has for vocal fry, despite it being widely considered a flaw - so much so that women with vocal fry used to receive significant backlash in certain industries. I think it demonstrates how the things we treat as negatives are very dependant on our perspective and culture.

I knew women with vocal fry would get backlash for having it but, wow. I always thought the people who strongly disliked vocal fry were in the minority--seeing this now makes me appreciate the vocal synth community's love for vocal fry a little more!

I think it's because a lot of pop singers use it so they are glad they can use that effect to give flavor to their songs

Well, singers like Britney Spears popularized it... Then you had the same phenomenon with voicebanks like Renri and Meiji

To be honest, i heavily vocal fry against my will when getting sick/being utterly tired/under a particular stress may it be internal anger, timidity reaching a ne peak or trying to not fangirl (or also when I shouted/sang at the top of my lungs too hard and on too much of a long time lap like I did Saturday night when I finally went to a rock concert OTL )
The VSingers currently have a total of: 4 major design controversies

    1. Backlash to the significant changes made by Ideolo to the contest winner's Tianyi design
    2. Qingxian's winning design being traced
    3. Tianyi's V4 design being so poorly received the company was forced to change literally every aspect
    4. The V5s being ratioed
My two braincells fighting over whether they should give me serotonin because Hippi is both bilingual (yay!) and cute (a personal attack on me).

Same, since her oooooooooooooold VOCALOID4 preoject's mascot, I've always imagined her with a very cool, detached voice (like ONE but cooler and deeper) or even that one typical tone some mature ladies have in anime (I don't know how to describe it, but you know, the kind of voice you'd find with either seductive, mature kuudere or even some villains)

But still happy she has a very nice, understandbale English and her voice is still cute

lili movie reviews: I must report that Cruella slaps. Disney's 12th first gay character was a delight, every outfit was gorgeous, the dumb scenes turned out to be deliberately campy dark humour, and no puppies were harmed.
