Even master chefs slip up sometimes! Last week I was making a pizza and half of it melted and fell into the bottom of the oven. You're doing great!

Never be embarrassed about mistakes in a language class. You learn more by being wrong and correcting it that you do being right all the time. Also, no one cares if you get things wrong. It's better than sitting there being silent.

At home try and describe aloud what you're doing and seeing. "This is a book." "I am using my computer." "I am writing on paper." "People walk through doors." "Airplanes fly in the sky." Stuff like that. If you don't know a word just substitute the English word, so you'll say sentences with a mix of Japanese and English words. Sometimes practicing the sentence structure is more important than knowing the vocabulary.

The only way to really learn a language is to keep spouting nonsense until you figure it out. It's about training your brain to think in the other language as much as you can.

Try involving yourself in japanese communities and watching shows and playing games in japanese:) That's how I, and all the people I know became fluent in english and most would tell you that the english classes they took at their schools didn't play a big role in that at all.

Actually, iirc, I heard that my classmate would use this app, where you'd find a person who speaks in a language you wanna learn and they in return want to learn the language you speak and the two of you would communicate and tech each other?? Something like that, it sounds pretty helpful so if you wanna give it a shot I can perhaps ask around?

    edit: it's called hellotalk :)
i never cook, i dont know anything about cooking, i grew up in poverty where we couldnt really afford food so cooking was never like a part of my life, but today i made homemade breakfast crunchwraps and even though i burnt them (i got distracted while cream cheesing my bagel lol) im really proud of myself for making something so "elaborate". usually my extent of cooking is throwing a frozen pizza in the oven so making eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and then putting them all together and frying them was kind of a big feat for me
decided im probably for sure gonna sell cyman since i need to pay rent but kinda wanna use him for something first so i can say i used him at least once lol...whats a good eng song to cover hmmmmm
my job sucks but the free unlimited baja blast almost makes it worth it

mtv cribs at my apartment where on every single surface there's at least 2 half drank baja blasts
i need to listen to japanese content to improve my listening comprehension, but i have a hard time committing to anything with plot so im not really in the mood for anime....anyone know any good japanese reality tv or slice of life kinda shows that dont have much plot? maybe i'll just watch the jpn dub of king of the hill :clara_ani_lili:
I think cevio is my least favorite synth, the engine noise is so shrill and grating i hate almost verything i hear

I think IA and ONE would have likely sounded much better on SynthV--while SynthV's engine needs some work still, it's better than CeVIO and also I feel like it's better for more "realistic" vocals like IA.
(Also, yeah. I don't like CeVIO either. I like Sasara a lot in terms of voice, but the engine noise in all the vocals really kills my enjoyment. The only one who doesn't have it, or it at least isn't as noticeable for me is ironically Kafu.)

Literally the only vocal to be released on CeVIO AI that I’ve liked is Sasara, but the way the engine warbles everything ruins even her for me. It’s sad because the original CeVIO had so much promise, and they’ve just run it into the ground.

The only cevio vb that I genuinely enjoy is Sasara. admittedly there are a lot i just havent listened to (like the color series) but so much of what i have listened to i dont like. Ia english was probably my biggest synth disappointment ever, when i heard she was getting an eng vb i was HYPED but the second i heard it was on cevio my heart broke lol. And sure enough it came out and I thought it sucked. Any synth would have been better...vocaloid, synth v, utau, fucking make ia english an alter/ego and i would have liked it more </3 siiiigh....at least people can always make ia's japanese voice bank sing in english, it's not very understandable but hey, neither is the actual ia english voicebank so
my japanese class this semester is intermediate now so we arent allowed to speak english and the teacher doesnt speak it either, so the entire class shes talking in japanese, which i do not understand because i got a c- last semester, i just keep nodding my head and pretending i know whats going on
i found a website listing all the ghost towns in my state and now i want to go on a road trip to some hehe

actually i really just wanted to vacation in the northern part of my state but every single city i googled had a population of 100 or less so...:ring_ani_lili: ghost town hunting vaycay it is instead...

I'd love to visit a ghost town! There's only one I know of in the UK, and not only is it in southern England (so it would be like a three hour drive to even get there), it also opens just once a year because it's actually owned by the Ministry of Defence.

My state is covered in ghost towns, but as far as it goes most of them either have absolutely no remains or only a few shells of buildings left up, there is very few preserved ones lol. But you can go to them anytime. Technically they're probably federally owned since 80% of land in my state is federally owned, but as long as the ghost town isn't in like Area 51 or a military bombing site I really don't think they care when you're going there :clara_ani_lili:
I went to one that had a few dilapidated buildings still up and that was cool, and I went to one that still currently has a population of like 200 but 90% of the buildings in the town are all abandoned and boarded up, it was super cool! I'm a history nerd so that stuff is fun for me. :clara_ani_lili:
im tired of having bad days at work why is everyone at the place i work so angry and mean

Oh hell no--that's really not cool! You should be making more than minimum--who are these upper management people? I just wanna talk! :cul_lili:
Best of luck in your job search!!

Do you have an Office Depot nearby? Our starting wage is $10.50 or something around that, and I believe that's true of all of our American location. At the very least, if you're gonna make minimum wage, you deserve a job that doesn't push you to your absolute breaking point over pocket change. I'll be praying you find something better!

I dont think one within walking distance, no :( I cant drive so I'm confined to a small area. Thats why I'm really desperate for a job on campus but the company i work for now is in charge of like 90% of the jobs on campus T___T
today at work, i go to refill a sauce bottle.
i pour and pour the sauce into the bottle, but then i see there's no sauce in the bottle.
instead, the sauce is all in the sink
i never put the cap on the bottle.

my boss saw it and i just said "i forgot to put the cap on the bottle. i dont want to talk about it, but thats what happened."
and then later i walk by the sink and go "omg!! who made this mess in the sink?!?!"

honestly sonika v4 would have been the fucking shock of the century, not even tone rion v4 could live up to the disbelief id have over sonika v4 if it released

i feel like theres so much negativity about the western side of the fandom, its vocaloids, and people involved in the western side of the fandom in this community...so im not gonna say anything negative about the situation. it was a project that didnt come to life but it was interesting and i love sonika.

I didn't know "Sonika V4" was ever a project until today--now I'm also disappointed because I think it could have been interesting! Plus, I think it's sweet that although Sonika is a bit of a hot mess, people loved her enough to try and make their own version of her! Maybe one day we'll get a vocal similar to Sonika, or even an actual Sonika on a different engine!! Who knows?:sonika_ani_lili:
