From experience, many people don't research ANYthing unless it's in a very accessible place, and sometimes even then they'll just overlook things. I'm a little sad Hippi won't be a synth since I thought she'd have a unique voice and concept, but 1st place has put more focus on non synth projects for the past, 6 years or so, so not a surprise :')

@TheStarPalace oh yes, definitely true. in all contexts many people just wont research the fact on something- even if something they read seems fake they still might not decide to go and see if its actually true or not. mostly when it comes to such things not being in english (or being poorly translated by machine- but even then if the page doesnt *let* someone translate it right there, many skip that part) its no surprise people just sit around theorizing instead of reading even one article of information to see what the situation is... its probably the most annoying part about the western vocal synth fanbase because so much of it isnt in english and it just leaves people to assuming things or reading other people's opinions and not questioning if theyre factual or not, just because its convenient.

The V4 thingy involving her possibly also leads into that misconception, but that is no excuse to not do any research.

also jumping to the conclusion that its synthv is such western fan thing to do

Ah, god. I've dealt with those kinds of people before, and not to sound like a cynic, but they're usually a lost cause. I've tried correcting misinformation spread by people who jump to conclusions (and provide accurate sources) but then people will still claim that they're right??? No? You're not?? Then they continue to try and tell me why I'm wrong and they're right. Homie, it's not a debate. :teto_lili:

Also, for the love of god, can people stop forcing stuff to happen for/with SynthV? It's a pretty good engine, but I find myself feeling more and more detached from/uninterested in it because of how much people shove it down your throat (esp. when you're like me and you like UTAU/Vocaloid more than SynthV and people constantly try to tell you that SynthV is superior, lol. If you think SynthV is better, that's fine. But don't force me to agree with your opinion and don't tell me to switch to using it--I can use whatever synth I'd like whether you think it's good or not, lol.)

Not to sound like one of those people who think everything about the western fandom sucks/blames them for stuff, but I really wish they'd stop complaining about stuff they either a) didn't bother to research or b) wasn't intended for them in the first place. (Like the person who complained Miku's JPN installer was in--you guessed it--Japanese! Because why on earth would the installer for Japanese language software be in Japanese??)

Whew. That was a lot.

@Kazumimi I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels that way, I was there around the release of the 1st editor and I remember the hype around it and Eleanor and I was there cheering it on but now the toxicity of the SynthV community has sucked all the fun out of it, it's exhausting having everyhting I like trashed by them, why would I wanna involve myself in such community if that's all they do.

No, no I agree... the western community tends to upset itself due to it's lack of self awareness of it's place in this industry. Not that it doesn't have it's place, it absolutely does, but I feel like we try to talk into the japanese side of things more than is our place...or feel like we're entitled to.
