i have never used synth v very consistently since i never owned a full vb until now, so since i am now, i have been able to really see what i do/dont like...
goods:
- i do like, for the most part, how notes can be carried. the ease of switching between "-" and "+" becomes very easy, not causing me to have to stop and do advanced edits just tab, enter the character, tab, enter the character, etc. however some words just did not work how i expected them to when i used "-" which is a little annoying, the way synth v carried some words when entered is not at all like what i want (oddly vocaloid gets it right for some of those words).
- the sorta 'curve' tool for drawing on parameters is nicer than the lines imo, mostly with how it creates the nodes
- the interface is sleek and nice to look at, easy to read really. its not a huge pro over like, vocaloid, its just nice to look at lol :P
- i do like there is a default "hum" sound if you dont have a voice in. kinda nice to at least hear, and it reminds me i didnt select a voice- instead of silence where it might confuse me if my sound is off- just a nice lil detail
bads:
- the sidebar on the right. i didnt like it before and i still dont. 99% of the time i forget what the symbols mean so i just click on them over and over and then i have multiple open again i forget which is which, so i close the wrong ones.... it aint good. theres good information in there! but i forget it exists all the time!!
- in relation, the way it exports the vocal tracks did confuse me quite a bit coming from programs like vocaloid where its under export > export as wav.... its worded in a way i have never heard and the fact its hidden in the right sidebar makes me forget where it is
- again has some issues with the automatic phonemes/dictionary and the way words where carried. often times words ending in N or "n't" would not carry properly when i used "-" and it was very annoying. a few other words straight up did not work ("choir" was one i recall)
- it seems you cannot use + if the notes aren't connected??? if im mistaken let me know but every time, it did not work. which is.... very annoying
aside take this mini review as, i think it has some nice parts! and its easy to use. but i wouldnt say its any easier to me than vocaloid- theyre both technically the same imo with a few things missing or added. that fuckin sidebar tho....
