  • Ok so I’ve recently discovered Vocaloid 6 yesterday (yes I know I’m behind my vocaloid stuff) and hopefully I’d be able to get another Vocaloid software but there’s a problem I’m having a hard time deciding between Piapro Studio and Vocaloid 6. Vocaloid 6 KINDA looks the same as Vocaloid 5 (please don’t murder me everyone!!!!) besides adding more features. With Piapro Studio I had a lot more fun with it!, and was sad when my trial ended. but I want to know everyone’s opinions on both softwares before I make any purchases!.

It's depends what you like but v6 is now support AI, if you would like to take advantage of it.
If you don't have any editor yet, i recommend the v6 since its more advanced than piapro counterpart, something you might find it useful in the future, but the cost is a little bit pricey, though they come with 4 vbs as stock singer.

I say go with your heart! They’re both great programs. V6 has a month-long trial available on the Vocaloid website so you can try it for yourself first. Ultimately, there’s no right or wrong. Go with what you enjoy most!

I have Piapro Studio for V4x and I'm currently using the V6 trial, and I've used the V5 trial. V6 is the kind of similarity to V5 that makes V5 seem like just V6 beta now. Like how V4 is the Game Boy Color to V3's Game Boy, V6 is the Switch to V5's Wii U. So, if you didn't like V5, you may not like V6, unless it addressed your problems with V5. If you want any V5s and V6s, you're gonna need V6 (for that matter, V6 comes with the V5 and V6 starters all at once. Great value, but not a good deal if you like absolutely none of them).
If you're just gonna use up to V4s, I can't recommend Piapro Studio enough it's very fun to use. Besides, one thing that Piapro has that V6 won't is V2 support. Sure all the Japanese vocals but Piko got updates after V2, but all the English vocals who are not Luka didn't.
Piapro Studio also has that simplicity vibe that V6 sacrifices for fancy high tech (worth it imo, but I see the appeal of either way).
Well look who remembered her Vocaverse password!, all jokes aside I’m sorry for dying on here. I’ve been struggling to make Vocaloid covers, not to mention trying to get the courage to post covers on here!. Sooo that’s been fun anyways how’s everyone’s day going?
Can anybody give me some tuning tips?, I’ve watched so many YouTube videos about how to tune vocaloid’s and other stuff but there’ll all for Vocaloid 4 and not 5, I would be putting out a lot of Vocaloid covers if I was more confident. I know that nobody starts out as a professional starting off, but any help is very welcome! (Sorry if none of this makes any sense, my Brain is currently melting at the moment)

It all relies on you practicing really but it's easy to develop unhealthy and unappropiate habits, that's why I recommend you reference off of people singing instead of voice synths, because it's easy to pick up bad habits from others' tuning.

edit: or are there any V5-related features you may need help utilizing?

You might try to download an existing project file (vsq, vsqx) that's has been already programmed (western commu call tunned) and take a look inside, how it's actually made.

This is a very broad subject though, it's depend on the song itself, key of the song, how fast the song is, the vbs you choose for the song, they all require different treatment.

For the starting point, i suggest you to start with one vb that you like (at time).
Can someone give me a walkthrough of Vocaverse, I’m new and I’m kinda lost any help is welcome!

    Welcome! :sonika_ani_lili:

The Vocal Synth Lounge is the main hub where we discuss vocal synths. There's sections for news, general discussion, and fanclubs.

The Stage is for posting your creations using or inspired by vocal synths! Music, fanart, and fanfiction go here.

Off Topic is for any discussion that isn't related to vocal synths. Threads relating to music featuring human singers, games, anime and more can be posted here.

Scroll right to the bottom, and you'll find a VVN button on the left of the footer for changing themes. This alters the appearance of the forum.

Any specific questions, feel free to ask!

The profile posts section is very active. People just talking about what they have going on, reactions to news, posting pictures of stuff. Lots of things that might not have enough material for their own long-term thread.

Beyond that, it's great if you can share or discuss any stuff going on in news or media about Vocaloid, CeVio, Synth V, and all the other vocal synths. There are lots of things that fly under the radar that are worth bringing attention to. Plus, discussing the software itself is always interesting. (Don't feel too bad about sometimes necro-ing a thread from the past year or two. We're often happy to pick up old discussions where they left off.)

Feel free to share you music and creative works. And share anything you find that's worth a look.

The site's Discord server is worth checking out. Some days are slow and others are really, really active. But there's always at least someone on there. It's great for shooting the breeze or getting quick answers to small questions.

Also, never be afraid to reach out to members directly should you need anything! Hovering over their profile pic will bring up an option to Start Conversation. We're an open and friendly bunch here and will always be happy to help.

As Nokone has brought up, the profile posts section can be used for both on- and off-topic stuff. It's like a more lowkey Twitter, in a way, so have fun with it!
