realizing one of the issues of moving out on my own is...video game consoles.... i have a twin brother and so all out life we have always shared consoles (we have our own handhelds tho). and while we have gotten into collecting our own old games (i have my own ps2 and ps3, he has his own) the newer ones??? well, theyre shared of course. like the switch, ps4, and ps5. and now im like. fuck. i dont have a switch to take with me when i move.... i think above all i need to get my own switch because i use ring fit a lot for exercise but its annoying because i honestly dont use the switch... like ever? so it feels like a waste :/ idk maybe ill have more of a use with YT and such when im out alone. but i also definitely cannot get my own ps5... price wise. luckily i have finished all the games i got on it so i am not in a hurry to use it again, but still, sucks. maybe ill get a ps4 eventually because those are starting to get older now.
i forgot that i still get emvoice emails...........
i may have been too eager for solaria lol. but like, i had a lotta files prepared and got a friend to render stuff of her in order to know what she'd sound like, lots of different settings i felt would be good with her and i really had no hesitance in buying her- i kinda knew i was going to but getting some renders before hand at least helped me justify it a little bit more kjdhfgldfg
collecting all of my old utau stuff into one place so i can set up a site to host all the old VB downloads and *then* i will probably make a thread for my present day utau development!
not gonna answer much in the way of messages right now so sorry abt that! in the depths of house hunting and its very stressful again but i may be making some good progress this week
just some flower thoughts most on her mysterious fate
i think the thing that is on my mind most when it comes to "flower should be on [engine]!" or even "flower should still come out for cevio!" its not really that one place is better or worse. it would be neat if flower was on synth v and got all those new tools synth v has to offer- i would not at all expect it to happen tho, and even so it doesnt mean the engine is a good fit for her. but i cant agree at all that cevio would "fit" her, i like many others dont think cevio sounds good in many cases.... and sure, its likely to happen due to what was set up earlier, but it would still be a lack luster release from my perspective due to all the issues i have with cevio. all in all in kind of okay with her being in limbo because i dont really have a lot of hope for where ever her voice may pop up unless we get some huge miracle. and while its mostly theory, after the release of her Talk voice, i always got the idea that they were likely to change flower's intention a lot. i like her talk voice, but i wouldnt have been shocked if the cevio stuff came out and she was not the same exact kinda voice as before (in terms of being potentially more cutsey/losing all the 'rock' themes... i mean her talk design is alright but it is very very different).
whenever i listen to flower content that really pushes the boundaries of her voice i kinda feel like im living in a very detached world from whatever could come next. i love her a lot and ill always love that we can keep using her as we please as it keeps that image of her alive. but theres something comfortable about the sorta standstill its come to instead of seeing whatever it was that was planned that could ultimately change a lot about her. havent heard anything notable from gynoid in a long time and while that is a little saddening im kinda...not of an opinion that i Need to see new flower stuff pop up any time soon.

boy, the variation of Circus's usage of Solaria is a treat. it is exactly what i want to hear in order to come to a decision on whather or not i will buy her, and im quite liking the japanese use of her voice too.
man. i keep forgetting some of the vocaloids i *do* own bc i did sell like all my physicals, but in terms of digital? its not really possible to sell them unless you lower it below market price or theyre not available anymore. which is fine i have no issue holding onto the digital ones, but i just.. really dont use them ever. i probably forget i own Bruno the most. i do like his voice a lot tbh, but i have little use for him... oliver, miku eng, sonika, and maika are up on that list too- but i think my lack of usage for them all is more just about the fact i realized way later on that i was never really gonna have a use for them in my music. it was certainly fun when i was making covers but outside of that :/ i have no use for them.
the AI chinese options are still small but Man do they sound good in english. and its definitely making my next potential usage voice hard.... there arent many AI chinese banks but i do think a lotta the chinese banks in general are very high quality compared to some of the others on synth v and the way chinese works, i feel their english capabilities are just a little better than the japanese AI banks. wew. dreamtonics really did a lot w this update, its hard considering what kinda banks i want from the current selection as before i never would consider them due to language, because i only look for voices i feel i have a potential to consistently use with original works.
part of me wants to create a thread for my utauloid bc i want incentive to like, start updating him. but also dont want to pressure myself by making a thread exist cuz i havent even redesigned him... i could prob take the thread slow and update it as real progress happens? maybe. keep the first post as the most up to date info and make new posts to update the design reveal and vb reveals....
i wish the resources of making your own tts were more widely known/available, or at least options that were more available were catered towards ease of use. idk if anyone remembers/used lyrebird.ai before it completely changed and wiped all voices but, even something like that was nice to have even with its limits on being stuck to a website. it took no time at all to record and it did all the work ya know?
im hoping making your own tts becomes more of a thing with stuff like coefont so that ease of use starts to be prioritized. its great theres some small software out there for english use but a lot of the time its not /easy/ to use and getting good results can be hard on your own. i think we're in a phase of early development with people realizing there may be a interest in it, so heres to hoping once the basis is down we'll maybe get some proper software with easy use for making your own tts.
still sitting here wondering if im gonna try and buy a chinese synth v or not... really wish they could make the digital purchases for them easier for non-chinese users... heres to hoping that changes with the cross language interest...? as much as i will follow the guides, still. hope the sites become more accessible for foreign users
its midnight so that means more Thoughts from me and for some reason im scrolling through my previous soundcloud account and man. surprised to realize even my last account ("morryv3") even has tracks all the way back to 5 years ago. really shows how much i was making stuff to need 3 new accounts from 2015 to 2016 and i slowed down immensely since then. understandably 2015-16 i was in highschool still and 2017 marked not being in high school lol.
admittedly i removed a lot of smaller posts from my current SC since 2017, but even so my current accoutn spans 2017-present and is way less stuff. idk if id say im sad about that? im obviously happy w where i am now. but part of me wishes i was able to even feel like i had that same energy w vocaloid/covers in the sense that i wish i hadnt been run into the ground w it once i got caught up in making so many videos out of pressure. i think in reality the image i have looking back of all these cool fun covers wasnt void of issues- so its ok. im just looking back w a sense of nostalgia i wish i could have
wew. boy. just finished writing a 7k word fic that i chipped away at for the last 2-3 weeks.... i like writing a lot too, and this is definitely the longest oneshot i have written in a while. even tho i know some people who write more, the way i handled writing this makes me really happy. because i realized i rush a lot of the creative work i do-- art, writing, tuning, etc... i rush it all the time.
and writing it one that is technically the hardest to rush- bc doing it quickly means cutting out a lotta obvious content, so its one thing i am forced to take my time on. even so i may have fics i force to end a little too fast, or i feel myself getting bored with a scene bc i wanna jump to the next part. but i had a vision for this and i didnt want to ruin it, and with holidays and stuff to distract me along w other shit, i realized it was a nice break from all that and so i savored the moments where i had that inspiration and sat down to write.
i really gotta get on the mindset that its ok to take my time and i end up with a product im much more happy with in general if i do. i gotta do it with art and tuning and editting really badly- bc i want to do those things but i just know its not gonna get me anywhere if i jus continue to rush it to completion. i know full well i have no reason to rush but it just become to automatic that the end is all that matters, not matter the process.
i was recording a video for something today and i havent recorded anything in. a very long time. and its made me more apparent to how much my voice has changed on T since July 2021.... might record a quic CV utau just for the heck of it to really see the difference from my old utau. i hope to record utau stuff again but i cannot tell if i should wait a bit more for my voice to drop (it hasnt been cracking much luckily)
the crashing of synth v is getting to me.... i may just throw down lyrics in vocaloid 4/5 as i find it to be the most efficient but i did like the convenience of just being able to put + in and hearing it (and the way it breaks up words by default is better). but admittedly i hate entering chunks of lyrics in synth v. itll be easier tweaking a few words in synth v after vocaloid, versus the random crash. backup or not, its obnoxious
update to synthv crashing: for some reason auto tuning worked fine if i did the version where you can tweak the settings? alright -
