  • Has anyone received their Eleanor Forte AI physical copies? It's past both March and April and I haven't heard of anyone receiving them. *I'm not one of the people who preordered, I'm just curious
I wonder if there's any restrictions on which voicebanks can use the new English feature. Like, we see Sasara can and I see no reason why it wouldn't work for Yukari, ONE, or the Tohoku Sisters, and then there's the musical isotope series. Kafu is already alpha-locked so I can't be sure.
Also this means Flower English is finally happening in some capacity, so much for those who complain about English Flower producers XD

Also note that they specify only Song Voices, but as of right now, the only Talk Voices without Song Voices are Fee and Rosa (and the latter is getting a SynthV anyway)

The English feature is more of a dictionary than like SV's cross-lingual function, I believe, so there shouldn't really be a reason the other JP voices can't use it! It's basically just making the manual input of JP phonetics you could already do into an easier to use function.
The irony that I posted here the news on SynthV 1.6.1, but I'm still using 1.5.0 (first because Norton blocked some of the files for trying to replace trusted files, but then SynthV itself still showed up as 1.6.0 anyway so I wonder if that step I was taking was ever necessary to update. But then upon also hearing about the excess noise that comes from the update, I didn't want to risk not being able to roll back versions on my voicebanks so)
Even if CeVIO AI Song Editor and IA AI English turn out to be the only CeVIO products I ever buy, it's totally worth it!
*Note, I've bought IA, but a physical copy from a forwarder so it's gonna be a while before I get her. The editor on the other hand, I haven't signed up for DLSite yet so guess who's gonna get 30% off it :3

Yep, there's even currently a banner for it on the website!
About the Vocal Mode update: it sounds more like SynthV now has a feature that's like their own version of Vocaloid 5 presets. When it comes to eliminating the need for appends, Vocaloid did it first. Although, it is cool that SynthV has caught up.

Edit: I originally mentioned Piapro EVEC and aliased Utau appends, but those were extra human recordings so

It also reminds me of how they made appends for VY1 from her full vb ( as in, using existing data ).

    Pretty cool overall.

We don't know how it actually works. How I think it works is that it takes the recordings in original bank and separates them based on tone and train mini banks based on those tones. Hence why they all sound different and why saki's sound so Minor because she wasn't recorded with this in mind and why stardust is so varied. I don't think this uses parameters like v5. If anything it's like vy1v4 natural or Luka v4x evec.

It might be a problem with the training which would be understandable since we have appends

Having used it on Saki AI, I don't find that it has very substantial effects on the end results. I shared some clips with my gf, talking about the new update together, and she said had I not told her I used vocal modes, she wouldn't have been able to tell and even then she had to listen very closely ( I had some maxed out ). Since each vb has tailored vocal modes, I wonder whether the rest have more drastic changes when applied.

I guess it's a good thing it is there cuz it's not like it does nothing at all, but since the difference it makes isn't very big, such tool I can only see being most useful for fine tuning purposes but since its a slider that is applied to the whole track and not dynamic, it's more gimmicky than anything.

Originally the release date was said to be after the crowdfunders got their rewards, but now that they have, the release date is set for late March.
I really wish we knew for sure how Quadimension is going to distribute the Medium5 updates. I haven't bought any vocals yet because I'm still deciding between Cangqiong and Minus (I will decide once Minus has English demos), and if I pick Cangqiong I would buy her from Anicute, but are Anicute buyers getting the update to begin with?
Not to be that "SynthV master race" guy but, it would have been interesting to see what cross-lingual synthesis on Vocaloid would have been like (and I say it like that because I doubt they are gonna do it when 1, Vocaloids come in 5 languages and 2, Vocaloid AI is not public*), and my thoughts and ramblings on the idea:
    1. Their English would be similar to existing Engloids but with accents. Gumi would sound similar to her English voicebank but the Cryptonloids would sound very different.
    2. oh shit they have appends too would they get language updates too?
    3. Oh wow, finally more Korean and Spanish Vocaloids since they never made more than 2-3 :D
    4. More westerners would use the Vsingers
    5. We would get voices in languages that don't have any alternatives (e.g. Sachiko! also Wil, I wish there was an English alternative to him so bad (but it seems like the only soft male English Vocaloid is Kaito. Though all 3 members of Zola Project have been compared to Hio who really just sounds more like Kyo or a higher-pitched Dex to me))

Edit: * 3, there's a lot of Vocaloids to begin with so it would be too much to program now and 4, assuming it would be V5, V5 is huge to begin with.
The gender factor in Vocaloid doesn't really change the gender sound of the Vocaloid. A better way to describe it would be that it makes a Vocaloid sound older or younger, or more accurately, happier or sadder. People speak in higher pitches when they are happier and deeper ones when sadder, and the gender factor reflects that better instead.

Sakine Meiko is one example where the gender factor can make a Vocaloid sound younger, and Haku's configurations are a really good example of the mood explanation, since she's Miku with the gender factor turned up, and accordingly she sounds more depressed.
Before I even got Sonika, for some time I considered buying Miku but so I could use Haku. In fact, I even used the 39 day demos for her Japanese and English last summer and most of what I made using it was Haku content (and some Neru content and I think I did a thing using Miku herself, but really, the majority of it was Haku)
Okay but like hearing about how Anicute isn't automatic (and even right now I'm waiting for them to give me Yamine Renri), I'm relieved that Dreamtonics got back with my stuff right away, especially for the prices we're paying here (I know it's typical of vocal synths but still)
Shitposting amateur who just bought SynthV Pro, that's me 👍

I've only had it and Kevin for a few minutes and I regret nothing
