To be honest, having been watching from afar the past several months... I don't think you're wrong. SVS has such a devoted and intense fanbase that it seems Dreamtonics has gotten lax, expecting that fanbase to just go with the flow of whatever they put out. The quality drops just marginally with each new update, to the point that I just keep re-installing an older build I have saved to my external hard drive. This update, however, is just... hmm. How sure of themselves were they to think it would be okay to release in such a state? 
Take that with a grain of salt, I might just be tinfoil hatting, but I really do think they're putting forth less and less effort without regard for their users.
