    new pc is technically built! i just....need to install everything all over again. and move 3TB of data. @_@ .... so itll probably be a moment until i get all my vocal synth stuff sorted lol. but my old pc is still available to me (im keeping it for server stuff) so i can easily access stuff somewhere in some form if i need to..........once i have an extra monitor for it, that is.

    perfect specs! you have a PC that is more than good for production, editing and also gaming, and it will last many years (5years+) ^-^
    since you mentioned 3 TB of data, and backup is always important, I recommend (in case you don't already have) to buy also a 3.5" hard drive, you could go with Western Digital Red of 6TB or 8TB ^-^

    luckily for me i do have loads of hard drives sitting around! i will likely be keeping two 3-4TB hdds in my pc while i boot from the 1TB SSD! (this case has room for.... 8 hdds, if i need it LOL) very excited to have this thing, knowing it will last me a good while. im not really the type to want to upgrade all too often so i decided getting some real current, good stuff would be the best bet.

    this is adjacently related to vocaloid but i heard how bee and puppycat was finally getting its release for netflix coming out, i only just watched the trailer namely to find out if they kept Oliver for puppycat's voice.(i watched BP ages ago but never watched it all) honestly i kind of thought they'd change it- not to say theres a problem with it, but considering i heard it in the trailer i guess id have to assume theres no issues using him?

    im sure vocaloid TOS's account for uses like this (i havent read Oliver's tho). im just surprised to see them keeping the vocaloid voice for puppycat in an actual netflix release tbh! its neat to see. i never really see any recognition from the vocal synth community that Oliver is being used for such a project and see it go all the way to Netflix is certainly cool milestone even though the software isn't often regarded when talking about the show.

    might be a little absent, but excited to say im building my own pc! ive been living w prebuilts for ages and now im building one to really suit my needs... but ill be off as i get parts in the mail and backup some files. but i will def have some new utau related things to share- been finalizing mez's design and i think ive got something im not gonna change anymore :P i waqs gonna try and share before i did this pc stuff buuut i need to tweak the art a bit...

    i do hope ACE gets english support and potentially english cross language function- at least from what i have heard i think its cross language with japanese is really really good compared to synth v so id be curious to see what the outcome of english would sound like in ACE... it would be cool to have another AI focused synth with similar abilities to synth v, that is also accessible to western users

    The devs have said in the discord they are working on an English cross language function ! Won't be out for a while though and they'd ideally need to make an English version of the interface first

    i remember when solaria's vocal modes came out and i was a lil annoyed i couldnt really tell the difference with some modes like "light" or "clear" but then we got anri's vocal modes and i was like. oh ok, yeah. no solaria's are fine actually

    at least she has numerous vocal modes...and out of all of them, enough of them are actually worth using because they sound different lol

    i also heard weina's vocal modes and they also seem to be super similar??? part of me is starting to wonder if the hdvm update is actually muddying the results for anri and weina's new vocal modes, but i dont think that would change them enough. (regardless anri's complete lack of vocal modes at all, and the company not sharing any demos prior to release seemed to be a bad sign anyways)

    at first i was only having issues with synth v crashing when using hdvm or whatever in specific ways (clicking too many things) but i have been having it crash soooo many times today for seemingly random reasons...

    i need to seek out some utau artists to potentially commission for art when i finish Mez's design but man i havent properly been Around the vocal synth community at all in years so i really dont have exposure to artists in the community anymore... gotta go search i guess

    it is... such an annoyance having held out for anri's vocal modes only for them to sound practically identical (minus Chill but thats only cuz its a bit whispery)...she could have been such an interesting, versatile voice with vocal modes. part of me almost wants to think its a bug that she doesnt sound any different lmao... but yeah no wonder i havent heard any chatter about her vocal modes, theres nothing to say other than they sound the same. honestly dont really wan tto own Anri at this point at all tbh, as it feels like shes become far more useless to me. and after seeing so little talk from her company, and so little effort put into her vocal modes.... i cant expect much for her going forward

    Considering Audiologie's handling of this situation, like failing to address the problems with the update at all, I can only think they are either as shady as Dreamtonics, or afraid of the top dog kicking them out. Industry is catty like that.
    And Eleanor on the other hand, Volor still having not addressed the Eleanor boxes or acknowledging she got updated makes me think that Eleanor vocal modes are not happening.

    yeah, my hopes for Eleanor at this point are also low, with how they have been so silent on the physical box and any potential vocal modes... its a shame, and it sure makes me appreciate eclipse sounds' communication. but makes me sad we are so lacking on english companies in the vocal synth scene at all and the ones as do see are so... absent.

    @Prism: Do you mean Eleanor's original, non-AI VB? Ellie AI comes with a text document that has parameter setting suggestions that make her sound pretty much like her original VB.

    damn. when did status posts get 1k word character limit.... i dont remember that lol. i guess this is too long so i will break it up

    most of my vocal synth use has become a leisure as i find enjoyment in simply listening to voices, mixing songs, using praat, and overall just thinking "damn they sound so real"- which means im not exactly trying to get better at tuning or mixing, or trying to churn out incredible covers. but the leisure angle does mean i use shortcuts and want to not be stressed out or annoyed by the process, and its leaving me to be using vocaloid way less now. i havent genuinely done a cover with vocaloid in quite a while, and even when i did i actually tuned in synth v before converting it.

    while synth v's tools make tuning far more easy, i think the fact synth v has had *consistent* updates and voices makes me more interested overall. new voices left and right! vocaloid? uh.......................... yeah i think we all know how vocaloid is doing on that front. (seriously, where tf has yamaha gone?? new voices when?)

    its a shame becasue in many ways i miss hearing flower, and using her. but my ears have been spoiled by the ability of these AI voices tbh. and its not to say vocaloids cant sound good at all, but i feel they take *far* more effort. new abilities with AI like "retakes" is a wild concept that i absolutely love and wanted to acheive certain things. the ease of cross language is something i never imagined. its a shame vocaloid didnt jump into the AI scene like many others, and has faded into the background, because i honestly think yamaha could do something great with their money and resources.

    actaully i think its worth realizing too its not even a "syn th v better" situation. its just that vocaloid has.... fallen behind. if other synths like cevio AI and ace were more accessible to me as a western user, i bet id be all over them too.

    i would really love to know how much dreamtonics bug test things before they release them because i really feel like its been.. a consistent issue to get new updates that have issues (whether its the new feature, or just crashes or glitches in general) along with their own VBs having issues as well?? and i dont feel like there are ever frequent enough bug fixes that come after either in order to actually tackle the problems (mostly with individual VBs)

    all that is to say, synth v has sure put down some great new features. i just wish there was more regard to bug fixes, testing, and also not forcing something to be turned on be default (instant mode) or in effect all the way (timbre being so high when its causing the weird results)

    hmmm almost considering buying another female synth v... my female AI library consists of Solaria, Anri, Eleanor, and Feng Yi. and with Anri and Eleanor lacking vocal modes i really have no interest in them.... like im sure they will come eventually but Anri and Ele have both been sitting here for a bit with no news on them (ele even more so)... and i do like Feng Yi, but she doesn't get the same 'oomph' from a deeper toned voice like ele (if ele got vocal modes i would be so happy because i really would use her more).

    Qing Su was a voice i was considering because i actually like her tone more than feng yi's but i got feng yi out of curiousity for her vocal mode styles. but im kinda considering Stardust because i have loved her voice for some time now, and she has a huge selection of vocal modes

    im very good at cleaning up and organizing my files but i havent done it at all with my vocaloid folder and it is a mess. purely because its been this way since 2016 and i never used vocaloid enough to open that folder enough to want to actually fix it....

    mostly once i get past my initial folders, it becomes a mess and the issue is that i just basically hold onto EVERY file i ever download just in case it gets taken down. which is great but my god. so many vsq files. but hey it pays off, i have already opened up a few only to go searching online to see its no longer around so!

    going to see if there is a way to submit feedback/bugs about solaria's vocal modes to eclipse sounds, since i used her a lot yesterday and had some issues.... for one, airy and soft are a looot louder in volume than say, power. there is a significant volume change for some reason. additionally i had some Weird sound results when using the vocal modes and having the tension low on high notes... like, it got unnaturally raspy and quiet. very strange, and ill have to see if its consistent with other files.

    otherwise they all sound lovely, and especially like higher Solid with low/mid power for the strong sounds. i havent used Clear or Light much though.
