  • Going back to work next week. It's a good thing I get to do work I like, but it's also a little sad knowing I'll have very little time for hobbies. I guess being unemployed for a little while has made me too attached to the "free" life... But work is mostly fun too.
Not sure if it was a good idea to start playing an online crane game. I won't say how much I spent to win just one Snow Miku watch and a Sakura Miku plushie... I do get easily addicted :/ Now I promise to take a break from those damned money eating machines for a while (unless there's cool new prizes... which in the end are usually cheaper to just buy second hand, but the chance of getting something with just a couple of plays is so tempting...)

Feeling your pain. :) I only played one of those (a real one though) once, and it worked so poorly I thought it was rigged. I wouldn't mind trying a real one again sometime, though, just to see if it goes better.

Maybe if you think you'll get weak and have to play again, it would be good to have a limited budget for playing per paycheck. Or just delete the app (or link or whatever) and don't look back, getting addicted to online "gambling" games (gacha type games/lootbox style prizes) is so hard to get out of. I think the Japanese games don't have to disclose the probability you have of winning (yet), so the chances are probably purposely low. 😓

Everytime I've been to Japan I've had the same problem with real arcades, I always went just looking and ended up spending. But yeah, I have some balance on my account left in case they will stock the Sakura Miku figures, but other than that I'll try not to play.
I've been feeling very unenergetic over the past couple of days, I wonder why. I just feel like slacking off today.

Maybe you're burned out? Or going to catch a cold? Probably best to let your energy recharge for a day or two.
I intended to get my first digital drawing done by today, but definitely not happening. Maybe next week. Looking at Clip Studio Paint tutorials would've been best done before starting, now I've just been experimenting... I feel there would often have been easier ways to do things.

Meh, I'll never discourage reading the manual, but just goofing around and experimenting can be really valuable, too. Sometimes you end up coming up with solutions to problems you haven't had yet (i.e., the manual method works most of the time, but later some circumstance arises in which your experimented approach works better). Anyway, you got some practice in using your tablet. Most experience doesn't really go to waste, regardless of if it's successful.
I feel like today I've rediscovered the joy of drawing. I spent hours sketching and doing lineart and it was incredibly fun!
Yesterday I felt like going back to traditional drawing, but tonight I was actually amazed how good-looking lineart I managed to create (well, on my standards). I guess I'm slowly getting accustomed to digital drawing. I hope to finish at least one of my works by Friday.
I got my Clip Studio Paint! Yay! Seems uninstalling the Wacom driver and Setup Wizard and re-downloading them did the trick. Now I can practice digital drawing! It will take time to learn the coordination and functions though.
The frustration... my Wacom tablet came with bundled software, but despite all the attempts I can't register my tablet on their site in order to redeem the software. As if their site is down, I just get a message "service unavailable". Just emailed customer support. Would be nice to actually use the tablet...

That's cruddy. : / Maybe you could practice using the tablet in a free software like Artweaver of GIMP while you wait for a reply?

I was thinking about that, or maybe downloading the Clip Studio Paint trial (since Clip Studio Paint is the bundled software I'm after).
My fixed-term contract ended a little while ago so I'm unemployed once again. I'm actually happy I have some time off for a change, but I'll have to start job hunting after Christmas.
Back home again after my visit to Germany. Good to see that my Miku Expo preorder goods had arrived to my home while I was at Miku Expo in Germany. Better late than never I guess.
Accidentally found myself appearing briefly in a Magical Mirai video, haha

(During the very first seconds I'm walking in the line on the right) I was also seen queuing in one MM2017 vid, so if I go next year, I wonder if I'll happen to photobomb someone's video again?
Monday, and so much stuff went wrong at work. General chaos over work distribution, forgetting things, a flat tire, unwanted extra hours etc. Hope tomorrow will be better.
