  • I wonder if you can bounce the FX of movement output in Studio one. I feel it's probably going to use up alot of CPU with all those LFO's and modulations.

You can! I think it's call freeze rendering or something similar, it freeze the track after you render it and if you want to change something you can unfreeze the track, just to remind you that it may cause a audio dropout and potentially crash your DAW due to excessive CPU spike so after you unfreeze it remember to bypassed some of the plugins or instrument to free up your resources "Before" hit play button.
DJ'ing from a core 2 duo is going to be a trip.
I don't really want to link my accounts on that laptop, I'm not sure I want to use a USB, I might just want to grab my tracks from my server or something.

try to use VLC video player, it should be fine ^^
and for audio tracks, just use mp3, not flac or any other formats. a fresh install of windows 10 might be a good thing too (use the official media creation tool to make a bootable usb stick install), since it will auto install any missing drivers from windows update. I also recommend to use an external usb keyboard and mouse :haiyi_ani_lili:
(or if you want to use linux, then lubuntu or kubuntu might be good)

Software and resources management can help to some degree, but if it too old to keep up, i think it's a good idea to upgrade your machine.

It doesn't need to be up to date "top shelf" machine. Something like gen 2-4 cpu is perfectly fine. Your meal probably more expensive than theses CPUs couple with 16GB of ddr3 ram and maybe a standard ssd is enough to keep you going for a decade to come.

Fairly certain the problem is the graphics driver itself. That laptop is just too old. I can play [one] track just fine when dj, but I'm too unfamilier with mixxx over serato to say I'll be fine when trying to add in fx and loops into the other track. The turn tables doesn't seem to rewind while playing and I can't seem to cue it without the sound outputting it in main (maybe I've forgot how to preview the track or it might be a different method in the new software).
Combine that with the keyboard mapping being all over the place, I thnk I'll upgrade it to one of those tsukumo miku branded laptops when it's convenient. It was a pain having to copy the @ and = signs from online to register for accounts and setting up eviroment settings because they were misplaced on the keyboard. I could try going back and fixing the whole keyboard one by one but I don't want to waste my time and there's apparently errors in the settings about ficxit ibus or something after I intalled a IME (the ime works but I think that prevented me from configuring the keyboard).
Good news, I've set up the speaker system correctly and it all works.
When did piapro get a new UI? I kind of like it. Is there a way to fallback to the legacy one for old times sake.

piapro.jp Is the english one different? I just realized the toolbar of sonicwire also looks different. Maybe it's language specific.
Now that I checked, sonicwire has Scalar 2 and Serum on the Japanese website. I had to get scalar from plugin boutique, that's a shame, I could've had them registered all on my favorite site with Miku. SCALER 2の詳細情報ページ

piapro.jp got updated about 1 week ago and it was an important update in terms of web platform (latest update was I think around 2017), it is a bit faster and at same time offers the preview images at higher quality ^^ I miss too the previous interface, and I hope in the future it'll be possible to choose various skins from the past ^-^
I have a bunch of 4.2mm speaker connectors connected to speakers from a sony home audio system that was given away and I kind of want to use a reciever (?) system where I input two RCA L+R jacks as input from my DJ board, the reciver system should act as a sort of amp (or power input for all the speakers) as well. The speakers are really nice, it included a subwoofer. I just don't know what the thing is called but I heard that it's usually connected by bannana plugs and not these types of jacks, don't want to cut them and screw any of them up. I could use this for venues where they don't have a speaker system or wherever, the speaker set could fit all in one plastic bin which makes it pretty portable. So yeah, this reciever (?) thing needs to be portable as well.
there's like 6-7 speakers (front, left, right, back, center, sub, left front, right front) so there's need of alot of jacks for output
It could be a AUX or a 3.5mm input, I have some weird connectors so RCA jacks are not absolutely needed. Are these things simple enough you can do it with a breadboard/arduino and Jacks? not that I really want to but that's always a option. (I looked around and I think the speakers were from a BDV-E3100, but I just need it small cheaper and analog input a must (DJ board only has that output, no wireless).

the banana :len_smile_lili:plugs are usually for the home receiver and speaker amplifier (those are not portable hehe), and since it seems you need something portable, I would recommend a mini pc/notebook+usb sound card (or a mini ITX pc with sound card) or some products from Creative Sound Blaster, for example:

How would these interfaces plug in from my partymix and go into the BDV speaker set? I don't see the jacks for that.
I wanted it be lighter and happy in E major but it came out emotional. My Drum fills are terrible. Not very proud of it, mixing was very minimally done and it felt way too intense without a buildup and release. Maybe I should structure it better like the ABACBCB phrase. The thing is just looped four chord progression with different variations, no attention to any breakdown, hook, or drop just transitions and different instruments to keep interest. could've added a delay at the end of the vocals but I didn't automate it, had little time to. Originally wanted to do eurobeat mix but couldn't finish the brass riff in a satisfactory way so I settled on this cocophony of rhythms and melody. There isn't a overarching rhythm and it sounds like noise.

You might take a song structure as "suggestions" no need to be serious about it. Although it is very important. Keep focused on overall how your song should sound like and paint a big picture, maybe you just cramp everything into single 2BUSS. It's much easier to balance the entire song this way. Then if you think you got everything right, you can take time to revisit every single track.

It's just, so bad.. but if you find something else that I missed to critique it be my guest. Better or worst than karmaK I'm electric? (it's worst (╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻)
@IO+ I think I did try and fiddle with the effects on the master channel, there is a couple of effects on the vocals and one or two intruments, The main problem was the song structure itself, I just slapped 4 some intruments playing at any one time past bar 8 and there wasn't any letup until the last 8 bars, it was interesting I guess and I did want it small and short in case they did want to fit it on a CD I wouldn't feel too guilty about it.
The positives, I like the melodies that I made to accompany the remix by themselves (together they don't quite mesh well), the only reused samples are the vocals and the drum loop. Had to delete bunch of notes around third bar of the cresendo because after I put it in the intrument it sounded bad, the third Chord just didn't sound right with the melody so it sounded alot more better than it was after the edits.
Learning from this I should start with the chorus's "hook" and establish a common rhythm for whole song that complements the original before working at other parts and focus on deriving phrases from that motif in particular. I remember I wanted to take the scale from a C# minor then back again with help of scalar 2 but time constraints, I think I could try those scale changes for the bridge of the song next time.
After doing the remix contest a thought came up in my head when I was using some oneshot samples using the stems. I think I might want to look for other stems from my favorite albums for learning. I don't know where to look for them, I remember somone said to look on YT which just has master file. ZeroKyori, utsu, suzuki, etc. Do I just try and look on thier personal webpages for them?
I forgot I can do audio subtraction.. need to study more. . .
I wonder if there's a place to look for people who share my interests and have a large Vital preset pack with all these intruments that Key studios and oneoneone used. I think I'm deficient on plucks and strings and bell pads generally speaking but I can just use what I have and make them offhand with time but this hobby doesn't have to be so lonely.
    Opinions on these plugins?
I havn't used them and not sure how useful any of these are or how much space and download bandwith they use up and extra software it requires (some VST's demand a installation program like UVI workstation and ilok with uvi).

I mostly use keyboards but sometime i use software synths like Spire, MASSIVE, Dune3, FM8 and free synths like Surge, obxd.

Deelay is really good and you can use it as reverb too, even paid plugin can't even do this.
Surge is simply amazing, eventhough it's a great design synths but UI may look like you are inside Boeing 747 cockpit.
Modulation section is great, you even have multi-segment envelope generator up to 128 node if you enjoy modulate sounds, Filter block is amazing. One of the very few synths that actually get the filter topology right.

PaulXStretch is great for sound design, not effect. You can use it to explore new thing you can put a simple sound and stretch, select a part that you like and turn them into samples.

EngineersFilter as the name suggested, i don't think this is a necessary plugins, these filter are usually use in science and engineering, not really used in music production. Although the fillter like Inflasonic, ultrasonic and Elliptical can give you a "brickwall like" filter but this plugin are IIR filters base design (not FIR) so it can "really" skewed the phase response so it's mostly use for technical purpose.

I just heard that engineers filter is nessesary if you want to play on big concert speakers or clubs that pick up 20Hz and below. It might not be needed but idk, maybe I might want to play whatever I make in the future on sound systems like that, maybe I'll ignore it until it's actually needed but then again wouldn't want to be turned down outright a oportunity to play on something like that.

I do have some expierence with live sound systems, most of these issue should be addressed while do track prepairing or mixing stage so it's not a problem and to be hornest it's quite difficult to find a sounds system that setup for a frequency as low as 20Hz and below. For a Home Theater it is possible, but for a big concert. If you're lucky enough you can find subs that can produce as low as 25-30Hz and those subwoofers that can produce 20Hz and below is already have massive high pass (like -30dB) to pervent speaker cone distortion.

Generally speaking, a larger subwoofers will provide lower frequencies but that doesn't mean it will give a good bass quality.
35-40Hz subs is usually enough in most setup and after that. Psychoacoustics will do the trick.

My summery is don't overthinking too much about problem that doesn't really exist in real world. These very low frequency usually not a problem and if you somehow have problem with inflasonic, an ordinary filter like 6-12dB/oct HPF will do the job perfectly fine.
Why the playback ruler for studio one and Piapro studio not work and sync to each other again? I had to stop working on vocals for this annoying reason, the vocal didn't seem to play when I play the Daw track and only on piapro track.
Offhand note: FM Stringly 120 ae.musicloop in studio one in studio one music loops strings music, the intrument playing the tonal note sounds so good, I think Key used it in Kanon ost or something, orido shinji shiinari sounds similar but maybe tuned differently or in same key?
Is there any clubs, theaters, radio stations, venues in the DMV area that likes Vocaloid out there or is the scene just a bunch of Amirican pop, rap, and country fans? Need to start getting my name out there, I think I'll start with wheatpasting QR codes in public around appropiate areas for now. Just want to be in good company.

I would personally suggest seeking out anime events or anime-themed conventions for a vocaloid-positive audience, that's most likely to appreciate your content.

Generally, those events have "dance parties"/room parties (hotel clubbing) at night & during the day, there's usually panels/you can apply or pay to host a "concert" panel for exposure. If you get in touch with the organization hosting the con, you also might be able to get them/(or be able to pay) for them to advertise in their pamphlets & formally during the event.

Also depending on the convention, you can sometimes put up flyers, so you might be able to advertise yourself (depends!)

My local con does the first day as indie performer's night- where they have "free" concerts for drag shows and small EDM artists ect.

In terms of traditional clubbing venues, you might be able to find dance clubs that play indie music/indie artists or have themed/gimmick nights- but you'd probably need to seek them out/do research on some that will be open to listening! The only clubs I know that are like that are usually lgbtqia bars? So that might be a spot to look.
2024 GSR miku is Mage/witch style... why? Not that I mind but it doesn't seem to fit. Anyone planning on releasing a Mage themed cover song for gsr?

that's because its Mogumo style ^^ (some of the artist artworks and figures have that same kind of hat) every Racing Miku has in fact a style that you can tell from which artist is made ^-^/
What's your workflow when dealing with this problem.
I'm trying to get a vocal and work my way back into the vocal synth in order to remaster it, change tuning.
    I see three methods
    1. pull midi from melodyne and try and edit it to make it less muddy
    2. hum a simple/clean tune that matches vocal and hope melodyne picks up the notes better
    3. skip audio and midi completely and use your keybord to record the vocal notes on a synth with a pure sound or a chorus effect all by ear.

How does the professionals do it? Do they use a combination therof?

I make midis by ear using a mouse (click and drag) in a piano roll with the vocal audio on another track. Sometimes I have to play the sample back tons of times to get it right

The Link works right? It's the same image.
I'm nowhere near musically inclined to match midi notes to vocal tone, that would be alot of trial and error on my part and I would still be uncertain if I got it right even if it was perfect.

I think i understand what you are trying to do.
The most convenient method is to extract midi from melodyne, so you have a solid starting point. After that you can edit by hand, note by note, fortunately we can easily detect when it sound out of keys, even you have zero experience. However, the hard part is timing, it may cost you a lot of time and sanity to get it right, i recommend to set a grid snap to 1/16 to save you sometime.

You can use keyboard to records midi yourself, i do that too. If you already have experience, it can be done really fast.
I was dumb and impulse brought a wireless headphone (had problems with my interface) and just realized it's the bass boosted version. It's a OneOdio studio wireless c y80b and need some equalizer presets for equalizer APO to make it sound flat for music. Where do I find them?
I'm looking at intergalactic bound on melodyne. Looking at bass ATM and it says C # minor 140 (93) using Polyphonic Sustain algorithim. Is this correct? what's the thing in prenthese, is it actually 93bpm?
    InstallGentoo
    InstallGentoo
Switching the midi notes to different intrument I can realize it doesn't even pick up alot of the notes (or the bass sound is just too complicated to generate correct note).

Single bass are monophonic and BPM is count base around constant transients, so it might be inaccurate, you can use it as suggestions however.

If frequency range are too close to each others it might be difficult for the program to detected the fundamentals.
Having this question about kickstarter status for the VR expo. It still says not provided as notified by creator. should I patiently wait for them to update it. I think the last bullet not checked in the list is the music file in my pledge but that's not really that important for me and I rather not give too much stress on crypton and want the pledge to be processed as given/complete. Don't know how to contact the manager of the campaign directly for those questions. Just don't want kickstarter to do any refunds when they already did so much.
When we should expect the creator to start updating the pledge details? The 2021 expo kickstarter is still listed as not provided as well even though everything was given on that fundraiser. Does anyone else have this technical problem?

It hasn't been too long since the show (only a week). I'd wait for at least another week before worrying too much. CFM's always been really good about making sure people get the rewards they're expecting, even if the issue is that those people haven't provided their addresses correctly. So I'm sure you'll get the digital rewards that you signed up for, or that they'll help out if there was some issue.

If I've understood correctly, Kickstarter charges backers at the time that the project has been declared to be funded, which should've happened already for everyone (It's not really an individual thing.). After that, I could be mistaken, but I don't think there's even a refund option--the merch is a promise made by the people running the project, but they're not obligated to provide it in the same way that a store is obligated to provide goods that they've sold to you. The only time I can remember a refund being discussed was actually something that CFM themselves said, which was basically as a contingency for if someone hadn't filled out their address properly on the backer survey or something--if an address ultimately couldn't be acquired for a particular backer, I believe CFM said they would refund them. So I don't think the refund is something that Kickstarter will do on its own, and I think it's more manual than automatic.

I'm pretty sure there is an option to contact the person running the project, though--probably if you're logged in to Kickstarter and click the name of the person running the project, there will be an option to contact them. So if you want to contact them to ask about rewards status at some point, you could use that.

if I remember well, in the last email to backers they wrote that the rewards are being prepared and it'll take a while (some weeks), and as mobius correctly said, you can contact them without worries using same email address of the kickstarter or from the page (faq-contact) ^-^

edit: here is the message regarding the rewards :miku_ani_lili:
