I can still remember a time when the internet was chill with people being homophobic. Namely just using "gay" as an insult, but still. Crazy how much things have changed over the last ten years or so, but for the better.

I'll get little specific but also homophobia in fandom spaces ( I was kid on the internet that's what I engaged with loool ) is really crazy to look back on, in 2012/3 is when it started getting better but I was in a fandom as a kid that has roots in early-mid 2000s and it was kinda crazy looking at old content from that era of the fandom and seeing that behavior

@Legally Pipp Petals You've just reminded me of the random homophobia within the SpongeBob fandom of all places back in the 2000s and early 2010s. (Mainly just in the shipping communities, but still. Let's just say there were some crazy slapfights between SpongeBob/Sandy and SpongeBob/Patrick or Squidward shippers, and leave it at that lol).
