Today I got to play one of my favorite games ever, Taiko no Tatsujin, for the second time.
The first time I played Taiko was early in high school when my friends and I decided to go to the major comics convention in our city on a whim. It was a mix of mostly kitchy manga stuff, and american comics stuff. Honestly, it was pretty bad. For me, I mean. I dressed like the high school girl version of the otaku stereotype, with the buttoned up plaid shirt, and old glasses, and jeans... and a backpack with can pins on it... my hair was probably frizzy too, so there was that. Lol. Those were the days.
Anyway, I I was already addicted to the 3DS version I hacked onto my system after watching some crazy gameplay videos on YouTube, and I figured the arcade version would be about the same. We ended up standing line for, like, 30 minutes, several times. It was SO MUCH FUN, and I was
instantly addicted. The 3DS version paled in comparison. We drove home, and it suddenly made me so sad realizing that I probably wouldn't be able to play my new favorite game again for years. Which was true!
But then the impossible happened!! Bandai picked a location outside the city for a location test, testing the waters for a full American release in arcades!! During the precise week I'm off of school! I made the trek and played it today!!
If Taiko no Tatsujin gets picked up for real and you're in America, you guys
need to try it. It is so much fun and easy for beginners to pick up, too.
I'm so happy right now :'D
