  • Does anyone know a good program to make instrumentals for Vocaloid? Any recommendations?

If you have an iOS device or a Mac, I'd recommend trying Garageband first. For Windows there's LMMS (there's a tutorial for making songs in it here). Both of those are free and imo pretty good, especially Garageband. If you can/want to buy a program, FL Studio is a good one and it's pretty popular with a number of producers. (It has an unlimited trial period too but iirc you can't save your work in the trial version) If you're interested in working with a Crypton Vocaloid they come with a DAW, Studio One, when you buy them. I don't really know how good it is for making instrumentals but it seems decent enough.

... There's a bunch more but those are my main recommendations :'D

I was gonna recommend LMMS for a free program, too.

I own both FL Studio and Studio One. I prefer Studio One, but there are some cool things about FL Studio (such as the Patterns you can use for things like drums, plus a lot of beatmakers on YouTube share their process of making cool instrumentals). Studio One has a sale for every Black Friday where everything on the site is 50% off (so I used that opportunity to upgrade Studio One Artist to Professional, since Artist is what comes with Crypton Vocaloids).

Thanks, I've never made an actual song before other than 8-bit. I'm so used to it, getting out of it and trying to include drums and guitar is driving me crazy. It always sounds chaotic.
