  • Is there a way to insert breaths into CeVIO (the song editor, not the speech editor)? Or should I do what I do with SynthV and just use the breath WAVs from my Vocaloids in FL?

Right click on a note -> Property -> breath
Then tweak the breath volume using VOL parameter, timing using TMG parameter.

When doing that, is there any to adjust where a breath will be? I can't add a breath unless it's at the very end of a note, and even when tweaking the volume and timing, it sounds... clumsy. Maybe I'm just stupid and don't know what I'm doing. I'll probably just stick with using Vocaloid breaths.

    Thank you!!

Yeah, breathing is not a strong point for CeVIO, so if you need some realistic breath sounds you have to use some recorded clips.
The breathing is also a "pronunciation" in CeVIO, however they didn't make it editable like other pronunciations. You can only add breath behind a note. If you really want to add breath before a note, you can add a note at before (with breath) and set its VOL to 0. And If a note has no previous note for a distance, a breath is automatically added before it.

For me, I seldom use or emphasize breath sounds.
It's happening. There's already been three knocks on the door. The porch light is off and there's nothing to suggest that we're giving out candy, yet they come in droves, Karens and their Braxxtyns and Kaietlynns who think that, if someone is in their house, they MUST have candy to give out.

LET ME BINGE MY TRUE CRIME SHOWS AND MESS WITH CEVIO IN PEACE, YOU HEATHENS.

Darn wish you could have sent them my way, I was so excited to give out stuff to trick or treaters this year- I bought a ton of the good kinda candy, I made goody bags full of fun party favours like stickers and tattoos, I put out those fun jumping and noise making decorations- and we hardly had any!! Someone in the neighborhood started setting off fireworks which I think scared a lot of the kids because we only had two people come after that started.

That sucks!! I'm so sorry. Who the crap sets off fireworks on Halloween?

I dont know but it made me really sad!!! More candy for me, i guess!
CeVIO doesn't have a mixer, right? You can't add reverb from the editor, you have to do it once you've exported the track? This song is very reverb-heavy (it's trance-rock), so I'm wanting to make sure. It's no trouble to add it after the fact, just double-checking.

I now have CeVIO, Minato, and Yuudai! I'm so excited!

Now I can't buy any new voicebanks until Christmas, but hey, worth it.

The Color Voice Series weren't part of that CeVIO sale, were they? You bought them at normal price, right? (I've been eyeing Minato for a long time but haven't gotten him yet.)

My CeVIO song voicebank rank based only on voice quality:
ONE > Sasara > Airi > Minato (the only fully acceptable choice for male voice) > IA English > Yoko (not available for common users) > Kasumi > others

ONE is the best voice in CeVIO family, with the widest vocal range and the highest voice quality. However her voice is also most like Sasara - you can call her "Sasara Pro".

@uncreepy Right. Still, their prices aren't bad at all, especially in comparison to Vocaloid: I got a package deal and got Minato, Yuudai, and the editor for about $116. Minato alone is I wanna say $40ish dollars? I'd say he's worth it.
Vector was perfectly fine letting me use my email address to register, but wouldn't let me use that email to purchase. I just kept getting "携帯電話のメールアドレスはご利用になれません。携帯電話のメールアドレスはご利用になれません。携帯電話のメール--" YES, I GET IT, WHAT THE HELL IS A MOBILE PHONE EMAIL ANYWAY.

So I used my school email and they seemed more satisfied with that. Now to see if I've done this right!
Welp. I've fallen in love. I'm gettin' CeVIO.

Now that you mention it, this isn't the first time I've heard someone say Airi sounds like Meiko but I dunno....I just don't hear it :gackpo_lili:

It's mostly in the higher ranges, where she sounds a lot like V1 Meiko. Apparently, not a lot of people hear it: someone mentioned it on the CeVIO wikia, and they were promptly dogpiled by people saying "SHE SOUNDS NOTHING LIKE MEIKO, SHUT YOUR IDIOT MOUTH" (er, not those words exactly, but a lot harsher than necessary for sure). I'd definitely like to add her to my library, because she has a wonderful, powerful voice! I'm just gonna have to give her a few more listens to separate her from Meiko.

ah, comparing vocals to one another kinda became a touchy subject i feel like, people get way too worked up over it for their own good sometimes
I got my cast off, I got to drive and type and write and shower again, my only class for the day got cancelled, I'm actually making headway on a chapter, I got a review on my most labor-intensive fic (it was for an old chapter, but still!), and now I just got an email saying my first class is cancelled tomorrow, meaning I won't have to be at school until 9:45.

Is it too early to call this a perfect day? Because this day's been pretty dang good.
I'm typing this with two hands! At long last, I have my right hand back! I joy-rode around town (or at least to Target to get some deodorant), washed the dishes, and pet two cats at the same time. It's so good to be back!

Aaaaaaand I'm having this done all over again to the other hand as soon as I get the all-clear, so I've only got a month to enjoy my autonomy again, heh.
I tried contacting Internet Co regarding V2 import codes, but their response was that you can download V2s from their page. They didn't even address the question of an import code. I'm terrified of asking again because they already think I'm a stupid gaijin who can't figure things out on her own. I'd hate to be persistent on top of that.

Sooooo my attempt at helping guide people to the right contacts has fallen flat less than 12 hours after putting forth the initial effort. Oh well I guess?

Don't worry too much. It's a business; an hour or two later, and they probably won't remember you, or you'll get someone different. Plus, it's their role as professionals to be cordial and help their customers. Obviously try not to do things that will absolutely annoy them, but if you have legitimate further questions, go for it and (politely) ask. That's what customer support is for!
I'm getting my cast off tomorrow! I'm praying they don't replace it, or at the very least that they give me one that can be removed. I haven't driven or extensively used Vocaloid or taken a true and proper shower since my surgery. I'm not sure which one excites me more.

I do the same. I think what they're suggesting is more people claiming the whole VSQ as theirs, not so much retuning it. (After all, if you didn't do SOME tuning on VSQs, they'd sound weird with other voicebanks.)

i think this is directed at people who just plug and play a vsq and take credit for the tuning!

I was guessing they meant something like that but I wasn't too sure. Thanks for the clarification!
I didn't finish a chapter this week, but I DID finish a script for a group project, where I was assigned project head! (It's for Media Communication; in honor of Orson Welles' adaptation of The World of the Wars, we have to come up with and perform a radio broadcast about a modern-day alien invasion. Our aliens inexplicably blare top hits from 2012.) So I'm gonna call this weekend a success writing-wise.
So is Tianyi's hair supposed to be grey or dull blue or black? It's different every time I see it.

I see her with grey hair most often, I think that's how she's drawn in her more recent official pics nowadays. That's what I think. Btw that dull blue might just grey with a tint of blue, with more realistic redering you usually don't go with pure grey/white/black, it always has some tint of a color.
I finally found a good song to use Tonio for! "What Power Art Thou." It's a very straightforward song for entering into a synth, but with enough variation that it'll be a nice challenge to tune well. I'm excited!

Also, Zero G sent me a really sweet email thanking me for being a return customer. It was automated, sure, but I still thought it was cool.
Zero G: "Here's our opera Vocaloids! They're specialized for use in opera. Their voices, therefore, have an operatic quality."

Half the Reviews: "I tried making them sing pop and rock and they still sounded operatic. Three stars."
Me: Man it's so slow tonight, no one's on VV or Facebook, mom's out with friends, sister's asleep, cats are grooming each other.

Me to Me: You know what'd break the monotony? another Vocaloid.

    Me: Sh*t man, you're right.

Anyway, welcome to my laptop, Prima!
I've made good ground on a chapter! When I write, I'll write bits and pieces that I've got a clear picture of and then make it more linear as I get a feel for the rest of it. I managed to bridge a lot of the gaps I had in the first half of the chapter. I'm gonna work hard and try to have it up by tomorrow!
