  • I've spent all night laying out the s5p for The Past is Like a Dream, so all I'll have to do once Haiyi gets here is plug her in, enter the lyrics, then get to tuning! Fun fact: Renri actually sounds gorgeous singing it, even though she's just saying "la" over and over again.
So since transferring for my bachelor's program, I've been living with my mom, sleeping either on the couch or in the spare room (which doubles as the cats' litter box room, and since one of my cats likes to LOUDLY announce his presence before using the bathroom, no matter what time of night it is, I usually sleep on the couch). But my baby sister's trying to gradually start sleeping in her own room (she usually just hangs out in it and then sleeps in my mom's room), so I've been given permission to start moving my stuff in!

I hung up my clothes in the closet and then ran to Lowe's to grab a bookshelf. I put my DIY skincare products on the bottom shelf, since they weigh like 50lbs all together, then I put my books on the next two shelves and my Vocaloid collection on the top shelf. Then to tie my new corner of the room together, I hung up a canvas painting of Bold and Brash.

I'm really happy. I'd like to be able to get my own bedding soon too!
I did it! I finished up my first UST!

I did the fine-tuning using the VB the person wanted, and they mentioned wanting to release it for her anniversary, so I won't post the end result (though dang it I want to, I'm pretty proud of it!). But I'm happy I was able to help someone out!

...why can't I get VSQs done that fast when I'm just doing them for fun?
So can Mercari Japan access your IP address? Because it won't let me sign up no matter what I try. It always manages to pin me as an international user and refuses me access.

On the bright side, I've got a Japanese name to use in the future if I ever need it. If a site that doesn't have access to my location ever asks, I'm Fujimori Daika.
Caihongtang has been my go-to for making outfits when I'm stressed or bored. I threw this one together in half an hour while convincing myself I just didn't have the time to run an errand.
I wanna thank @patuk and @RoboCheatsyTM and literally everyone else who encouraged and educated me regarding my UTAU ignorance. I think I'm getting the hang of it, and I'm really starting to have fun with it!

Yea no problem! :kaito_move: there are some things about UTAU that if somebody didn't tell you to do them/how to do them you'd be lost :gackpo_lili: so I'm happy to help!

Hey, no problem! Always happy to lend a hand! :kaito2_move:
Y'know? Considering this is my first shot at a UST, and considering I haven't even tuned it yet... it doesn't sound awful. (Except for that one section where I completely forgot to put in the lyrics, but I fixed that pretty quickly. )
Oh my God. I'm actually doing it. I'm making something in UTAU.

Now to figure out how to tune...

its ok! hmm I have no issues with her ka on her cv vb, is the note pretty short? also are you using the default resampler? there other resamplers that will help with clarity.

Yeah, I forgot about using another sampler. Resampler is the default, so I tried Moresampler. It sounds a little clearer overall, but it did nothing to That One Note. It's an eight note, but the song itself isn't too fast, and none of the other notes have that issue.
    ___
    ___
that's odd, if you want to I can look at that ust to see what the issue is.
Since I'm done with my surgeries, I think I can risk taking a driving-heavy job. So... I signed up as an Instacart shopper. I read and signed all the contracts and sent in my info, and now I just need to pass a background inspection. Wish me luck! I desperately need this.

God, yes. I've been lucky most of my adult life: I qualified for Work Study at my first college and loved my job (right up until the end, long story, but it was mostly good). Then after I dropped out and moved home, I took a semester off before starting over, and my Comp 2 professor fought tooth and nail to get me to work in the Communications department (which I think will always be the best job I've ever had, and I miss my ladies every day). But then I transferred after getting my associate, and my new school's Work Study program heavily prioritizes students who have been there from the beginning, and then I had all my surgeries, so neither WS or anything else I could qualify for would take me.

I got a job in high school pretty easy, I worked at a Mcdonalds for over a year, but getting a job since I got to college has been hard af. I finally got hired at another fast food job and Ill be starting in a week or so....but theyre not open on weekends so Im not getting good hours. sob. But a job is a job.
@Leon @xuu how long did it take between your packages being shipped out and you being notified that they'd arrived? It's been well over three days since the last update I got on Haiyi and I'm getting seriously scared.

USPS is notorious for not updating often -- unlike other carriers here, the tracking does not update live. Your package is most likely fine; what shipping method did you go with? EMS/DHL are the fastest services and even then I usually don't get updates for them over the weekend -- SAL I usually have to wait a week or two before any update at all.

Okay so I got the notif that Moke was sent out from the warehouse on Jan 2nd, and then that he was ready to be sent to the airport on the 5th. On the 6th it says he was ready for boarding, and then he arrived in LA and cleared customs on Jan 7. It took until the 10th for FedEX to say they got the package, and then it was sent out on the 11th, and he's somewhere in transit.

Yeah, I chose EMS. Someone on Mastodon pointed out that, with the time it takes a flight to reach SanFran from Guangdong, she probably arrived late Friday, and if all’s well I’ll be updated within the next week. I’m hoping that’s the case!!

    I FIGURED IT OUT!

Chapter 23 of TBBC was on indefinite hiatus because the plot kicked off with with a trip to the mall to buy New Year's presents and led up to a discussion about Christmas Eve, and I missed that deadline. I can change that to "They're buying presents for Kaito's birthday" (which is February 17th), and it'll have the same general hilarity without so much filler before getting to the core of the chapter. (Basically, Oliver, Rin, and Len are discussing scarves, trying to narrow them down... and get ten of them, because it's traditional to get Kaito a shit-ton of scarves for his birthday.) Then, rather than Christmas Eve, it'll play into Valentine's Day.

It's more cliche that way, but I'll figure out how to make it work.

Over on the VocaLounge I've acquired like three followers. Logically, I know it's because it's new, as am I (I just started posting today), and I haven't posted a whole lot, and nothing I have to post is quality anyway. But my brain won't stop telling me it's because everyone already hates me. I just... can't be convinced people don't hate me, even if I know it's illogical. I always assume people hate me right from the start, and I have to earn the right to be not hated. :miku2_move:
I'm finally getting to the point I can bend my left arm all the way! I can only bend it all the way when I hold it in a certain position, though, and the sutures pull and hurt if I bend it for too long. I'm at least able to wash my hair and face with both hands now! My hand's almost back at full capacity, at least in terms of flexibility; the scar there itches like crazy, and I risk splitting it open if I scratch too hard, and it'll still be a month or so before I can use it same as always. (For reference, I still have some trouble using my right hand, and that surgery was three months ago.)

Nonetheless, recovery is going smoothly, and the pain and agitation I'm experiencing now is nothing compared to the pain I had before the surgeries. I'm looking forward to a brighter future!

Wow I'm glad you're recovering!! Although I've never had arm surgery, I remember the experience of slowly finding my arm's limits on bending and putting weight on it after I broke my elbow a few years back, so I wish you all the best!!

Dang. That sounds painful! Yeah, it'll be a while before I can put weight on it. I can put weight on my right arm for a few seconds at a time, but no more, and it's been three months. It'll be late-spring before I'm back at 100%, so I'm looking forward to it.

I did it! I've managed to successfully integrate Sonika into a song! She sings "Stand by me, darling" in the cover I'm working on. Even that sounds pretty bad. But I'll fix her up! I'm still in the mapping stage, after all.

YouTube has a bad habit of crashing a video and forcing you to reload if you DARE open Piapro Studio more times than it likes. It's worst when you accidentally open Piapro WHILE on the YouTube tab, at which point it automatically shuts off. Yes, this is even with the option to release audio devices checked.

I've had to refresh no less than fifty times in the past three hours. I have the song I'm covering on my iTunes, so I could, in theory use that instead... but I feel like that'd be even more hassle than this for some reason.
Ah, my mom brought home a whole case of Andes mints! I'm gonna snack on those while trying to find the motivation to work on something.

I think I'll be able to get motivated again once school starts back. I lucked out and only have one class a day (excluding Friday, which is entirely free) for the first eight weeks, so getting out of the house but still having some free time should do me well.

Of course, I only managed that because I'm taking mostly online courses, and then a really intensive daily course during the second eight weeks, so I'll need to be diligent.

My best friend's a geology major! She said the labs are pretty simple, so I think that's a good idea. (I got my cores out of the way at a really small community college with few options... I wanted to take geology too, but they didn't offer it. 😥 )
