Unfortunately I think you have to add a rest in its place, but I'm not really sure how. When I first bought Vocaloid and found out rests weren't a thing, I think I nearly cried. I never did figure out how to manipulate UTAU like some of you geniuses alsdjfasf

im here! to put rest in between the notes w/o fucking up the ust, click on the note and drag it while holding the "alt" key on the keyboard! to make one note shorter while making the note next to it longer w/o fucking up the ust do the same thing but instead hold "ctrl"

^ that, but also to just straight up delete a note without messing up the rest of the UST, just cick on the note you want to delete and put "R" as the lyric -- that turns it into a rest.
