  • Only some colour corrections to do and my newest drawing should be done. (Assuming I don't spot a huge mistake at last minute before publishing it...). Hopefully I'm all done tomorrow
When you have an old computer and you draw a detailed illustration on a canvas 15 000 px wide you might experience some lag from time to time. I should try to upgrade to a better performing computer at some point, the lag at random points is making me crazy

600 dpi. In retrospect, I should've changed it to a more moderate 300. The csp file is actually 276 Mb, no wonder my old Fujitsu is struggling with big brushes. At least it's almost done

In general 300 dpi is sufficient for most normal printing jobs (posters, banners) and is basically the same size as the medium you want to print on. It is considered a standard. 300 dpi is good if you know what size you are printing at and won't be like "Dang, I should have made is 600 dpi so I could put it on a billboard!"

600 dpi is kind of overkill meant for specialized prints (like billboards, images shown on Ultra HD TVs, art galleries, it's more for extremely detailed photos that show every tiny detail). Overall, the 600 dpi just makes the file size really big and is like watching a VHS on an HD TV (doesn't make the picture look any better, it's just a safeguard for IF you have to print super big) and it also makes it take longer to print. 600 dpi is for when you want to print larger than normal sizes (like instead of 11x17, you want 36x48 or something).

Note: Both of these sizes are overkill for just uploading to the web (where 200 dpi is fine).

Yeah, I know, I did 600 dpi for the Cheers39 flag that was a 128×190 cm print, I didn't even think I probably left it on as a default setting
This is a peculiar winter. It's February and no snow atm, and temperatures are just above zero. It should be much colder at this time of the year, and snowy. Instead we've been trapped in November weather. It should get a little bit colder next week though it's only temporary according to the forecast.

I've felt the same way for a few years. I remember the summers being really hot and muggy when I was little, but now we go through the season and it never really feels like we *get there.* And it seems like the winters might have tended to be milder for me, as well....

Here the last two summers have been hotter than usual, or at least that's what I feel like, though summer of 2017 was exceptionally cold and rainy

We've had more heatwaves which break over 30°C the last few summers, when most of the time, we're lucky to have our temps above 20 and as high as 25.
Lineart done finally, now to tackle the shading hell...
I wanted to draw more detailed twintails for Miku this time, now I've been drawing hair for 1.5 hours. And that's just lineart. it'll take a while to finish this piece...
Suffering from post expo depression. It's even worse knowing it won't be until December Magical Mirai before I see Miku live again :(
At home safely. Berlin airport security apparently thought Miku makes me suspicious. Had to show the security what a penlight is, itabag emptied and searched and had my baggage and clothes swabbed. The middle aged security woman gave me a funny look when she saw the bright fullgra Magical Mirai shirt I was wearing under a more discreet Miku hoodie.

Just to clarify, I have no problem with security doing their job well, it just felt weird that I was the only person whose baggage underwent an extensive search. I can't avoid the thought it was because of all the Miku stuff in my bag and my Miku clothing.

I went to Berlin in the summer of 2018, and me and my family didn't have those types of problems with security. Still sounded like you had a bit if a nightmare though.
Miku Expo was fun, but please have assigned seating at the next Expo. Someone behind me hit me several times with their penlight, simply because we were so packed there was little space to wave them, same for everyone in the center of the VIP pit.
