  • New favorite YouTuber: Let's Game It Out. Every single video makes me laugh until I hurt. The Planet Coaster video is easily my favorite.
I finally opened up some commissions! I'm worried I'm overcharging though, so if I need to lower the prices please let me know.
Happy Spring Break to me. Next week's classes have been cancelled, and the week after that was our scheduled break, so yay for extended time off!

I celebrated with a cookie and a huge glass of chocolate milk. When I'm happy I always conveniently forget that I'm lactose intolerant, so this will be fun. Wish me luck.
Okay, honest opinions: how does she sound? I busted my tail doing this much, and it still sounds pretty rough I think...

Ahh I think she sounds nice! I didn't think the inst was distracting either, but I may just not notice these types of things alskfjaslf
I know you were saying how hard you were trying to get rid of her rasp (although I think that's just part of Luka's voice, point blank at least a little bit), but tbh I don't hear it too bad here. Nice job!!

I'm not sure what things you don't know, but I'll do my best. If I mention something you already know, sorry. I'm not trying to be patronizing or anything. (Internet communication is kinda janky in some ways.)

Inserts vs. Sends: Inserts are effects that are in the same channel as your vocal (or instrument) track. This is where compressors and EQ usually hang out. Sends are effects that are on a separate dedicated channel strip, with audio from one or more channels being sent there for processing. Common effects are reverb and delay. When using sends, effects must be set to 100% wet with no dry signal passing through. Better explanations can be found all over the internet.

Fader automation, or "riding the faders", is a common technique to adjust levels of important sounds when the overall mix levels/density changes. For example, the "orchestral" mix above gets louder, which means it would be a good idea to push the vocal channel's fader up a bit to keep perceived volume differences identical.

Delay is kinda like an echo. Slapback delay is a technique of setting up delay plugins to sound like a reverb that doesn't push the vocals (or other instruments) into the background. I just checked ReaDelay and its first preset is a vocal slapback setting. I'm not sure if the same presets are in the VST ReaPlugs download pack, but they're free, so give ReaDelay a shot. Just remember not to overdo the slapback mixing levels.

Thank you so much!! And don't worry; you're not patronizing at all. I didn't know any of that. I appreciate the help!!
Slowly but surely, my skin is starting to forgive me. I've slowly phased the ceramide cream out and my regular moisturizer back in, and tonight I figured it'd be safe to use my Vit C serum again. That makes me really happy, because I love that serum and it's my favorite product in my routine~ I had to cut out everything except cleanser and moisturizer for the past week. I'm glad things are going back to normal now.

So, here's hoping it all works out! And remember: if a sales rep at Ulta tells you it's safe to use a product with exfoliating properties twice a day every day, she's a damn liar.
One of my favorite KaiMei headcanons is that they're simultaneously a very lively, sexually-charged couple and a pair of domestic houseparents. They'll flaunt around the house nearly naked performing sensual duets while making sure the Miku's and twins' clothes are ironed and their beds are made and all the shoes are perfectly lined up at the entryway. Everyone's learned to knock before entering the house if they know they're alone in there, because, as entertaining as it is, it's also a little unnerving.
Honestly, at some point I'd love to purchase the full license for SynthV. I never plan to monetize on what I produce, but I use and love it so much that it just seems unfair to keep using it for free.
I've been going through making sure all of my voicebanks are registered, because apparently I never registered Iroha. Everything else is registered, from the looks of it, but for some reason, when I go to my Sonicwire page, a certain someone is missing.

    This is so aesthetically infuriating.
I'm still selling my Engloids (minus Oliver) and Gumi V4s! I'd also be willing to sell Kiyoteru V4 if you want him! I have $18 to my name right now, which isn't even enough to fill up my car, so I apologize if I'm being too annoying about it.

I got Rock for $100 (he's a physical copy) and Natural for $70. I was thinking:
    • $120 for both (including shipping Rock to your address of choice)
    • $60-70 for Rock (less if you just want the download)
    • $40 for Natural
But those aren't set in stone: I'd be more than happy to negotiate price!

If I get some good customers I'll see if I can get at least one more Voicebank of her.
But also if you know anyone that needs some artwork. :mirai_ani_lili:

Sadly I won't get paid until next week, and my funds are tight until then, but if no one else takes Natural I can buy him!!
Look, I love her too, but this is a bit... much.

dftgyuhji this has to be a joke  how would anyone be willing to buy this when you can still get her from Crypton for much less than that ( and I already think Crypton's V2s arent worth their price either )

Truthfully, this seller's currently studying abroad, and they listed ALL of their inventory at this price because they're not selling anything right now. Still, I got a kick out of it.
My skin's so pissed off at me and now it won't accept my attempts to fix it. Sweetie, I'm deeply sorry I accidentally exfoliated you twice a day for over a week, these ceramides would make you feel so much better if you'd STOP DRENCHING ME IN OIL EVERY TIME I APPLY THIS CREAM.

If that were possible, I'd have enough to make an entire fish fry by now.

Ohh gosh that sounds so frustrating!! My face is really sensitive, and no matter what kind of lotion or anything I've tried to use, it gets really oily and irritated. So I just rinse it with a clean washcloth and avoid touching it too much D:
...would anyone pay for their songs (covers and originals) to be mixed and mastered? I'm an amateur myself, but I'm not bad, and I wouldn't charge too much (like, $5-10 per song, maybe $15 if it's lengthy and complicated), and unlike charging for VSQs there's no legal issues attached.

What could I offer that people would pay for?
Would anyone be interested in purchasing any of my Gumi VBs? I'd be more than happy to sell any of them! I'd also be willing to sell any of my English VBs, as they'll be easy to repurchase once I have the money (excluding Oliver, because a CERTAIN COMPANY doesn't believe in sales).

Oh! And since I don’t use him much yet, I could also sell Kiyoteru! I have both his V4s, and I own his V4 Rock physically, so I could sell both. I can negotiate on prices!
What are some ways I can make some money while job hunting? I have a TON of old books I could sell, but how many people would actually pay more than a dollar for old books? So I thought maybe I could sell them in lots (like, $10 for 20 books or something like that), but even then I don't know. I don't have any commissionable skills outside of making VSQs/USTs, but when I presented that idea on Vocalounge someone pointed out it would technically be illegal to charge people to make covers of pre-existing songs...

I have a grand total of $18 to my name at this moment, and I just got $45 from a Facebook friend to buy Rin/Len ACT1 so if I go to FB asking for money again I'd look ungrateful and foolish...

Maybe you could try MTurk? I've used it for years now to make some money on my own. I mostly do surveys on it but there's a variety of jobs you can try. It's not easy to make much money on it at first but it can build up over time.

Huh, I've never heard of that. Is it kind of like Swagbucks?

Hmm, not really, though I used to use them together before Swagbucks got harder to earn. MTurk pays in actual money outright instead of something like Swagbucks where you redeem SB for stuff. The downside is requesters can reject your work and you won't get paid if they do, but in my experience it's rare for them to do so as long as you're careful. If you decide to try it out I'd recommend looking into some forums dedicated to it (I mainly frequent the one that's literally just called MTurkForum but there are others too) because they share good jobs (they're technically called HITs) they find as well as just general advice.
