  • I was going to preorder Taito's summer Miku figure, thankfully I double checked my order history as I had already preordered her some time ago. I should start keeping a list of my preorders across different sites. I had completely forgotten I ordered her :P
I've been watching Magical Mirai 2016-2019 Blurays over the weekend. I wish it was December already, can't wait for Tokyo Mirai this year.
It's been really quiet on the vocaloid front recently. No interesting news, song uploads and not very much good artwork to enjoy on my twitter feed. At least the weather was nice for a change and I did some hiking in the nearby forests

Assuming I'm not legally forced into quarantine, I want to get out and about hiking too. (Since my government has only just closed all pubs, restaurants, cafes, etc., there's nowhere else to go for a bit.)
I said some time ago that I wanted to try out a dakimakura type of art. I've finally got around to work on it, and I like the way it's turning out so far (still in lineart phase tho). It 's going to be a lot of work, not to mention I want to make a sfw version too.
I don't tend to buy nendoroids (Snow Princess Miku is my only nendo), but V4X Miku is tempting, very tempting...

yeah I was eyeballing her too lol!!!! those glasses alone almost have me sold. I only have about 5 nendoroids in my collection either, the only vocaloid-related ones being sakura miku. SHE'S SO PRETTY :<< and Teto because I couldn't physically live without her.

I guess it's Geralt VS Miku V4X now

Yeah, the glasses and her cute expressions are what make me want to buy her!
Piapro photo session at Volks' Doll Point Akihabara. Essentially a meeting +photo session for Cryptonloid Dollfie owners. So many nice looking Dollfies! I wish there was one when I visit Japan next time
And now my country is closing schools and several public facilities, banning gatherings of more than 10 people and closing borders starting on the 18th. No curfews or anything though. Only 272 confirmed cases in the whole country, so this feels a bit excess. It's not affecting my life for now, but still.

It looks like the UK is gonna impose a mass gathering ban too. No curfews or formal lockdowns yet either, though pubs, restaurants and cafes might be forced to close.

To be honest, the British public seem to be more up to speed with Covid than the government is. A lot of town and city centers have gone really quiet over the last couple of weeks, and the pubs which usually do great on the weekends were half empty this weekend. I also spotted less traffic on the roads this morning as well. Sport and entertainment events have either already cancelled or postponed stuff as precautions.
People are seriously overreacting to covid-19. You don't need to hoard toilet paper and preserved foods, shops aren't going to close.

Come to think of it, I'm sure the grocery stores would deliver TP, too...I assume. At least I'd think that Wal-Mart/Target/Amazon would....

China's TP production doesn't affect Europe in the slightest, Finland for example is more than self-sufficient when it comes to paper products. The toilet paper thing just spread from country to country. I think Australia actually had really some shortages as their TP mostly comes from China. Rumours spread to Japan and people started panic buying TP despite almost all of the toilet paper sold in Japan is manufactured domestically. By now toilet paper has kind of become a symbol of covid-19

That's good to know--wouldn't seem wise for only one country to produce all of the world's toilet paper!
I'm strangely tempted to draw a dakimakura-type art next now that I've found some motivation. It'd be fun to try
A lot of these spam messages advertising random supplements have been popping up lately here, is it a trend now or have the mods just been quicker to remove them in the past?

    Just reported another spam message.

I would hope for "solid security between them just when they are explicitly dynamic and appreciative to one another" in a sexual relationship as much as the next person, but I really don't think I can just pop a pill to bring that about....

I reported that too, in the morning. All in all that spam stayed up for over 6 hours. I decided to monitor the staff response time; the spam was posted yesterday 7:45 EEST, I reported it at around 8:45, and finally it was deleted somewhere between 13:45 and 15:00.
On the topic of moderating, if something serious were to happen, it could take six hours or more before a staff member happens to comes online and deal with it. That's a bit worrying if I'm honest, though it's unlikely something serious would happen.

Mm, I'd like to think it wouldn't get any more serious than these oddball spam posts...which unfortunately are getting more frequent lately.

I think the first step should be to do something more to try to keep these spammers out. It could be 2-factor authentication, it could be a captcha if there isn't one already, or something else. But it might be worth looking into some other creative solutions. Maybe reported posts could get hidden by default, at least for some temporary period at least, until a staff member reviews and re-adds them? The community of users seems pretty trustworthy to me, and unlikely to get into wars of hiding each other's stuff. Or maybe a new, lower tier of admins/staff members could be added who has the ability to deal with little things like these--with more of them, issues would be more likely to get resolved faster. I feel like many of the mod/admin staff are getting into busier stuff with education/work, so their time gets limited. Having said that, I noticed RazzyRu on a lot yesterday or the day before, after the profile post about the spam went up. He's an admin, with more technical responsibilities, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's trying to look into it somehow, if only to get ideas of what might be possible :) .
Anime figures are inappropriate to have in an office? Sounds dumb. If I had an office I would certainly decorate it the way I want
