  • In Finland the ban on non-essential travel to and from the Uusimaa province has been discontinued and movement is free again. Other measures to curb the coronavirus epidemic are still in place though

In here the government still recommends not to travel around if it's not necessary, but the "soft closing" of Uusimaa was found to be ineffective and it was legally a bit dubious to close off one province while elsewhere in the country movement was still free. Finland hasn't been badly affected so far, but stuff like restaurants, schools etc. will remain closed until the end of May

We currently don't have any date for when our lockdown will end, and it's making a lot of people anxious. Our government was literally planning to let the virus spread throughout the UK, and they had to backpedal once they realised our health service would collapse from the amount of Covid patients trying to use it at one time. But now we're on track to have the most Covid deaths in Europe. >:(

Hopefully the restrictions there will be effective and things will be under control.
Why do I get creative at 11pm when I should think about going to bed, and not earlier when I had nothing to do
Itashas are really cool to look at. Not planning to have flashy wrappings on my car tho, it might not really work on a daily driver
I really haven't been motivated to draw recently, no idea why. I still have one unfinished piece (two versions of the same art) I'd like to get done over the Easter holidays, but I always end up doing something else
EMS mail seems to be just as fast as before despite the reduced number of flights. I got a merch package today, I was expecting a delay of 2-3 days and was a bit surprised it arrived within the usual delivery time.

That’s awesome! I had a 4 or 5 day delay on a package last week.

I got the job I was interviewed for on Friday. I'll be doing both landscaping and lorry driving (the two professions I'm qualified for) in this job. Not yet sure when exactly I'll start, but it's within this month, possibly even next week.
Went to a job interview today, it went well in my opinion. They said they'll let me know next week if I got the job. It's a landscaping job, but turned out they'd have use for someone with a truck license too, so my chances might be good.
Abe and his promise of two free face masks per household has really become a meme
I applied for two jobs yesterday, today I was invited to an interview for one! I'm waiting for them to give me an exact date for it, but looking good so far

The fact that tomorrow is April 1st has a lot to do with this ;)

Yes, April Fools, hence the remark I put in spoiler
It just occurred to me that this year marks the 10th anniversary of my first trip to Japan... how time flies. It was a big thing for me to go to a far away country without my family back then. I wasn't really that much into Vocaloid at that time, but rather Japanese culture (both traditional and modern). While it kind of feels it was yesterday (figuratively), at the same time it feels like it was ages ago
Now they have checkpoints on the province borders to restrict movement in and out of Uusimaa. It's not impossible to slip through via smaller roads tho
I very much disagree with the decision to shut down Uusimaa region. Shutting down the Helsinki region might've made more sense, but in my municipality, on the outskirts of Uusimaa, there's next to no covid-19 infections, so it makes little sense.
Welp, bye bye 2020 Olympics I guess
(Note this is not an official IOC decision, but it seems more and more likely the Tokyo Olympics will not take place when they originally were supposed to)

It's sad, but better to be safe than sorry. Besides, that gives Olympians another year to train, which means the Summer Olympics will be even better!

If the Olympics move to 2021, I guess it means next year's Magical Mirai will be organized the same way as this year (Osaka in August and Tokyo towards the end of the year). I won't be happy if that's what happens. To me the turn of August/September is the best time for Mirai, and Tokyo is the better location.

@peaches2217 I don't care that much about the Olympics really, but agreed, better not take risks with the virus.
