I think it sounds like you have legitimate reasons to want to quit, and have been thinking about it for a long while now. Plus, the virus situation is just bringing your thoughts back as a focus. Being a health care worker seems like it takes a big toll on workers mentally and physically, so I don't think anyone would blame you for falling out of love with it. Some jobs just end up not being how you thought they would be, or situations at work change and you no longer love it like you used to. Next semester for college should be starting at the end of May/beginning of June-ish, so you have time to think about if you want to just go for it and enroll.

I'm not a healthcare worker, but I had grown frustrated with my job of 5 years and just couldn't take feeling burned out, angry, frustrated all the time due to things out of control there anymore. The work situation just kept getting worse and worse and I was sick of sacrificing myself there for a crud job that didn't care about the workers. So I quickly put in my resignation notice and have now been taking school for a semester. I wish I hadn't waited so long.

I hope stuff gets better for you. I think things will definitely change if you take life by the horns and force it to go in a new direction by going back to school like you've been thinking about. Lastly, don't worry about "ranting".
