Yeah, it sucks when you wake up and feel really inspired, and then something happens and the wheels fall off and not only is the inspiration gone but you feel miserable. Sorry that whatever it is happened. Hope you feel better soon!

Sorry you are feeling bad. The only advice I can think to say based on personal experience is to take some time to heal (try to relax, take as many "fun breaks" you feel like you need for as long as need, like watching TV or just laying on the bed even if it seems "excessive"). After a couple days when you start to feel more back to normal, then gradually start to get back into hobbies by doing something small (ex: creating a project file, I often find I work further than that simple step even though I wasn't feeling 100%). Right now is such a tough time with everything bad going on, so I think any personal problems that pop up have been hitting harder. I hope you feel happier soon
having to listen to the original version of a song side by side with my cover 100000 times because my ears arent very well trained on timing and i so desperately just want things to be on time :kaito_lili:
my goal this year was to upload at least one cover every month. we are 6 months into the year and i have uploaded 2 covers.
I love Meiko V1 so much. I know her vb has quality issues since its so old but damn I love the way it sounds. Im sad her V3 couldnt quite recapture the magic for me.
my japanese text books for my class came in but im actually thinking of taking the fall semester off so maybe ill just study the textbooks myself in the fall and see if i can take a placement test to get to jpn 114 (the second class) in spring....my one worry in this case is i would struggle with pronunciation and listening skills. hmmm

I think if you self study a bit, you will be fine. Japanese pronunciation is pretty simple. There are only 5 vowels. And there is only a few times when the pronunciation doesn't sound like it looks (ex: when you say the names Daisuke, Sasuke, it sounds like "daiske" and "saske", and how you have to say "des" instead of "desu"), but if you listen to music and print of the lyrics to get in some listening practice, I think you will quickly get used to pronunciation. There is a channel on YouTube that I really like called 日本語の森 , they teach Japanese in Japanese normally, except for the lowest level N5, which are in English. I also really recommend reading the "Tae Kim's Guide to Japanese" at an equal pace to your textbook to supplement it for grammar and vocab. If you listen to a little Japanese on YouTube every day (make a playlist) and also read a few pages per day (not even a huge amount, just 3 or so), then you will be doing super well and have a huge advantage over other students!

this just in: my cat is really cute
So I've been working at a job that I worked at for over a year when I was in high school and people who started after I left think I'm new and keep teaching me how to do....the most basic things....and it's a little irritating I just want to wear a giant sticker that says "im not new i know what im doing pls leave me be"
gosh its been just about 10 years since ive been a vocaloid fan ! cant remember the exact year i discovered miku but i was in about fourth grade i think. and to think i just thought itd be a middle school phase and then be over....lmao

The first time I ever heard vocaloid was from this album here. I bought it when it just came out (don't even remember how I found it...I believe from youtube). The first track I listened to was one that used IA. Didn't even know it was a vocaloid at the time. I thought it was a real singer until I found out otherwise on the interwebs. Couldn't believe technology like that existed.

    I found Miku around 2008, so I've been in the fandom for around twelve years now? Good lord, I feel like an old fogey now. On the other hand, I actually kinda enjoy imparting ancient wisdom and reminiscing about old school Vocaloid fandom things to people who jumped into it later. ^^;

But I think preteen/teenage me would be impressed and surprised that I'm still nuts about Vocaloid (and Miku) in my twenties. Good music always sticks with me, no matter how old I get. ;)
I've heard the "vocaloid is dead/dying" conversation so many times for so many years and im so bored of it

My theory is that, if the fanbase is still around, it'll never truly die. It's become outdated and is being replaced with better synths, so its "death" was inevitable, but it's nothing to moan and groan and point fingers over; it's just the consequence of all technology, to one day be unable to keep up. Vocaloid is no exception, and just because it's in decline doesn't mean it's bad or that it's anyone's fault. I swear, some people are so pessimistic...

I hate having to defend my own interests like if people dont understand that vocaloid content is constantly being made thats on them

It's true the Vocaloid brand is dying, but the fandom itself isn't dying. It's just changed a lot from its beginning, and older/former fans can't recognise the fandom they used to take part in anymore.
my university is maybe going to be remote again in the fall. i really want to take the semester off if it is because i dont learn well online, but i rely a lot on loans and scholarships so taking a semester off might not be feasible....

i'm worried about mine doing the same thing too;; while i'm not as pissed about the remote learning, i AM however missing people!! totally underestimated how long things were going to be shut down, and how long they COULD be. that's why i'm hopelessly waiting for something big to happen this summer in terms of vaccines or something so that class can be normal again. I really hope things work out for you though!!! :/

My government announced yesterday that they're gonna allow non-essential stores to reopen in mid-June if they can do social distancing, so now I'm expecting my uni to make a statement about reopening. I don't think they'll reopen all campuses and buildings yet though. (I just want them to reopen the library because I'm running out of research spots for my dissertation. orz)

Fortunately, I'll be done with lectures by this autumn, so all I'll be doing is writing up the dissertation and for the most part, I can stay at home. I feel awful for everyone else doing full-time degrees though. Distance learning doesn't work for everyone.
i dont follow anyone on twitter that starts drama but i do follow people who are always tweeting "damn so much drama in the voice synth community this place is awful" and i never ever know what the damn context is
every night i have the struggle of "im too lazy to take my makeup off, but if i dont i will break out really badly in the morning" and i have to make the ultimate decision of what i care about more: my skin or my desire to not leave my bed

God, if that ain't a surefire struggle... I shower every night, so I kill two birds with one stone, use an oil cleanser before getting in, and use my regular cleanser in the shower.

I always feel bad about taking my makeup off after a day out because I like the way it enhances my face. I just feel I'm wiping away a lot of time and effort, even if I've literally done a 9 to 5 day and it's starting to go a bit off on my face lol. (I've noticed my face makeup starts to go a bit oily after hours of wear, even though my skin is dry as hell?)

i'm kind of the opposite, washing my face is super addicting mostly because i love the way my cleanser feels (and my serious mask addiction), but i always feel bad about taking off a really nice makeup job :,(

I remember when I was really little and my dad let me have this big hunky old PC in my room, and I always thought the recycle bin was cute how you could throw a file in there and it would look like paper in the little bin
