  • Just paid 50 euros worth of taxes on the Magical Mirai 2019 figure, hope the post delivers it before Miku's birthday
I managed to finish my Miku birthday illustration yesterday! (At the cost of sufficient sleep though).
I have so many ideas about what to draw but no time. I just came up with an idea I definitely want to make into an illustration, but I have no idea when I can actually start working on it...

That must be very difficult to deal with. I think I've had a similar feeling before, and what I did to ease myself into drawing was to doodle first.
It's also important to remember that art is suppose to be fun. That helps it from feeling like a chore or a duty you have to do after a long day.

Yeah, it kind of sucks, but it's what it is. When I try to work on art while tired the quality goes down and I make mistakes (that I have to correct next time I continue). I've been trying to tell myself that I don't need to rush drawings just to be able to work on the next one. In the end one piece of art done well is worth a dozen rushed ones. So it's better to only draw when I feel I can focus on it. But still I wish I could draw more, hopefully the situation at work will ease up over time and I can do that

I've faced that issue before, it's terrible to feel so good while you draw, like you're doing your art normally only to notice all the errors when you resume and realize you weren't at your best.:ring_ani_lili:
I hope your work situation will ease up soon too.

I was doing a stone pavement at work today. I calculated I carried over 3000 kg of stones by hand (only a fairly short distance thankfully, but it wasn't possible to bring the pallets right next to the place where we were making it). And same stuff continues tomorrow...
Goodbye holidays, it has been nice. Next holidays are probably in December when it gets freezing and snowy. I talked with my boss last week before the holiday week started, and apparently autumn is going to be very hectic. Lots of new and challenging sites starting soon.
The latest patch broke MikuTap, after startup you get stuck with a black screen (music keeps playing tho). Seems a lot of people have the same issue. Hope it's sorted out tomorrow.
I regret not taking more photos of my Dollfie Miku (need a proper camera I think). But I'm getting some new clothes for her soon! Meanwhile, I tidied up her hair and gave her a negi

I would say lighting would help more than camera.

Yep, unfortunately I don't have proper lighting at home
I feel like summer's over already. Just as I got my holiday week, the weather turned cool and rainy and the long term forecast says it's going to be the same for the next month or so, which means the rest of the summer.

Ha ha, I feel this. Where I live, all too often it feels like there are only two seasons: rain and snow. Recently its been pretty decent, though. I need to get outside more....
Went fishing a bit today. It was a little too windy so I left after a couple of hours. All I caught was one 30cm-ish pike, which I of course released.
This year will be the first time in 4 years that I'm not in Japan on Miku's birthday. Unfortunately August 31st is a Monday so I'll have to be at work, it's very unlikely I'd get the day off despite the important nature of said date.

I may have phrased that in an unclear way, I'm not hoping to visit Japan this August, due to Magical Mirai Tokyo being later in the year. I assumed it's clear I won't be in Japan. It would just be nice to have a day off for Miku's b-day just to be at home.

Okay :) that makes sense. I saw a vocaloid concert before and loved it. I’ve never been to Magical Mirai.
I was overjoyed today when I found Pocari Sweat in a regular supermarket in Helsinki, I've never seen it anywhere in Finland. On my visits to Japan it has always been my favourite soft drink, and man, does the taste bring back memories. Now I'm sad my local supermarket doesn't have it.

@jasmin00 K Supermarket Lauttasaari. I had one worksite near there, and stumbled upon this while buying something to eat. For reference, I don't live in Helsinki area so I don't know if there's other shops selling Pocari. Ja kyllä, olen suomalainen ja puhun suomea :)

@mobius017 It's a sports drink, the flavour is a bit difficult to describe, but the flavour is quite mild. I don't have an idea how to describe it tbh.

@hamano Oih! Tosi harvinaista bongata suomalaisia vocaloid faneja foorumeilta!

I'm getting a one-week summer holiday next week! In fact the whole company will be closed for a week in order to let everyone recover from the huge workload we've had for the whole spring and summer. The big projects we've had so far are all now ready or getting finished this week, so we just need to push hard for this week and then enjoy some time off.
