    I've been messing around with the new web versions of Saki and the Kotonohas! First off: the current web editor is a LOT more stable than the original web editor, a better reflection of what SVS is really like. And while I can't speak for the Kotonohas, Saki's web voice seems a bit more unstable than her full voice... I loaded in the project I'm using her in, and it had jumps in tone and such that aren't present in SVS Pro. So if you run into issues like that while experimenting around, know that it's likely not a completely accurate depiction of what the full product is like. It's still super cool though! The Kotonohas getting a demo was one of my top wishes for SVS, and damn if AHS didn't deliver.

    Also, if you're having trouble navigating it: click the bottom icon on the right-hand side, and the first drop-box will let you toggle between Japanese and English! The option windows are different in SVS than they were in SynthV; it takes some getting used to, but I think it's ultimately easier and less time-consuming.

    Also, a quick re-affirmation: the pepper spray status was a joke, I'm not literally going to try to eat pepper spray, holy shit, I know I'm stupid but I'm not THAT stupid.

    Twelve days ago, when FoMT was shipping out to me, I signed up for text notifications through UPS so I'd know its progress and would be able to properly anticipate its arrival. Those texts never came, and ultimately, it arrived without fanfare.

    Well! Guess who FINALLY got the texts in one fell swoop at FIVE IN THE MORNING?

    (I get the US' various postal systems are severely overworked right now, and my game ultimately got to me, so it's mostly just funny... I didn't realize what it was at first and thought I'd drunk-ordered something again, which would be a feasible explanation if I'd touched alcohol in the past month.)

    Me, until literally a few hours ago: Selling the Vocaloid editor and the voicebanks separately is so stupid! Why don't they do it like they did V2 and bundle the editor in with the bank from the get-go?

    However! I THINK I've solved my problem! And again, since I don't plan on ever trying for VY2 V2, I'LL NEVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS BULLSHIT AGAIN (until I get a new computer, in which case I THINK I'll know what to do).

    It's finally done! Everyone's all nice and cozy in V2, and Luka and Miku/Append are being consolidated as we speak, so in a few days they'll join the fray!

    (Also, as of right now, I have 13 separate banks in V2, and only three of them are non-Kagamine VBs. I'm so proud.)

    I messed up and tried opening V2 after installing the Kagamine Appends, forgetting that I was using Tonio as my base V2 and the Appends came after him. Now I have to uninstall and reinstall EVERYONE! Yay!

    I’m not sure how much of this is my computer being a dick again, and how much is just V2 being V2. Either way, wish my sanity luck.

    Mercifully, since the only V2 to come after the Appends was VY2, and I don’t ever plan on trying to nab him, this SHOULD be the last time I have to try and get the editor to cooperate with me! Just... gotta find a work-around for not being able to install the Appends without ACT2 installed... and not being able to install ACT2 unless I install V2 with them... and not being able to install the Append’s V2 over it...

    huh, normally V2s from like 2009 onwards don't have these issues. (ie, installed Miku Append over Al with no issue). sorry bout that :/

    That super-rare Gakupo listing is sitting at ¥23,000 as of now, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it end up at ¥30,000 or so... I’m a little jealous, but it’s still amazing! I didn’t know it even existed until I saw it.

    Yaaaaaaas! Miku V2/Append shipped out to the Buyee warehouse last night (less than 24 hours after purchasing them). As soon as they're there, I'll consolidate them with Luka V2 and get them shipped here, then all that's left is to wait for Meiko V1!

    And then I'm banning myself from buying anything else until Eleanor's full VB is released, unless of course I find another deal too good to pass up, in which case... no promises.

    God, I wish I could leave reviews for the people I order from through Buyee. Prompt shipping deserves all KINDS of good reviews.

    Great news, for a change!

    1.) I’ll be back on my meds in short order! My doctor refused to refill my prescriptions unless I came in and saw her face-to-face, and she wouldn’t work with my work schedule or accept Skype calls; as I’ve only been working for two months, and I already asked for time off for my dad’s birthday, I got too nervous to ask for MORE time off to see the doctor, so I figured I’d just wing it.

    I’ve been off my meds for over a month now and it’s taken its toll mentally, emotionally, AND physically, so I finally said “Fuck it,” scheduled in as fast as they would see me, and figured I’d let my managers deal.

    Got my schedule for next week today, and my appointment falls on my day off! So that’s exciting~

    2.) My next haul of vocalsynth products: Luka V2, Miku V2, Miku Append, and, most excitingly, Meiko V1!! I’m so happy!!

    Lmao yeah totally! And besides that, i think act1 is my favorite of the kagamine vbs. I love how bright they sound. If i were more of a len/rin stan i would get them in a heartbeat 😅

    One of my big yet quiet dreams is to own Miku's original English VB. It's not sold on its own anymore, of course, and only comes in bundles. The problem is finding a bundle... most versions you find on Mercari and the likes are either her Japanese banks only, or, one cruel time, her bundle... but the seller said they were keeping her English bank and only selling her Japanese banks.

    Given my next Buyee shipment will be Luka and Miku's OG banks and Miku's Appends, Miku V3/English is now the only Character Vocal Series vocals I don't own. So... I may have to find a way to make this happen.

    I just... don't wanna spend full price... since I’m getting her Appends, I don’t care about her V3 JPN at all.

    Y'know, I've been awfully grumpy today. Forgive me. I'd like to change it up a little bit and introduce more positivity!

    I'll start by saying: I've finally found a song for Aiko! It's actually a song I used Miku Chinese in during the two days I had her, and I think Aiko does it a LOT of justice. It's gonna need some heavy editing since the original file is from my early days, but that's a challenge I'm willing to undertake!

    My consensus is: what Aiko lacks in power, she makes up for in clarity. She's not as versatile as the Medium5 girls, but by her own merit, holy shit she's good.

    I love this fandom but it can be so exhausting sometimes, I swear... or maybe it’s just the medication withdrawal and the long hours at work making my skin thinner. Probably a combination of the three. :yohioloid_lili:

    Can we not get any news without half the fandom turning it into a parade of “Vocaloid’s dying! Yamaha sucks!” and jumping aboard the hype train not out of a desire to see new synths thrive, but a desire to see Vocaloid crash and burn? That would be nice, just every now and then.

    I was about to write the same thing... orz I was already getting tired from the Synth V 2 news, and now I'm already sick of hearing people belly ache about CeVIO being horrible or Vocaloid dying and yada yada yada... People wanted the vocals updated, but half of them are flipping their lids because it's for CeVIO AI. Ergg. Make up your minds, if everyone accepted Vocaloid is "dead", why be surprised when companies take action by going to a new synth? (Need to go back to my underground bunker...)

    Honestly, it's less that people are hating on CeVIO and more that people just wanted Yukari and Flower on SVS, from what I've seen. It's not that that bothers me (though it IS quite annoying - CeVIO has NEEDED something like this), so much as the fact that people won't stop beating a dead horse in regards to "Hooray! I hate V5, so I'm glad Vocaloid's finally gone!" As I said on another of my posts, it was unfunny at first, and now it's just hurtful.

    I'm with you 100% though. People are being suuuuuuuper demanding about "I WANNA SEE *insert Vocaloid here* IN SYNTHV!" and get upset if a vocal gets a release in anything else it's quite annoying, and this is coming from one of SynthV's most staunch supporters.

    With the announcement of CeVIO AI, I really hope we’ll be getting some new vocals for it alongside Yukari and Flower... I don’t care for Yukari and can’t stand Flower, and as the Color Series probably won’t be ported in, the only vocal I’d consider is ONE, and I’d rather not buy a whole synth just for one vocal, y’know?

    Still, my own feelings for Flower and Yukari aside, it’s exciting to see them on CeVIO! Given their intense popularity, it’ll give the engine some much-needed attention.

    WOKE: Loving or at least respecting Vocaloid, SynthV, and CeVIO as a whole, for their own merits, and NOT rooting for an entire synth to die just because it hurt your feelings

    Like, I’m excited about SynthV and CeVIO’s growth, but come on, we’re better than this.

    I really don't care for the competitiveness/infighting that occurs among the fans of various synths. Sometimes, it seems like people have a need to claim that their particular synth is "the best," and those that came before or their competitors are all crap. It's just impolite/not very classy. As the owner of a Toyota, you wouldn't go around telling owners of a Nissan that you had the best car, better than the one they chose--it's just pointless and kind of hurtful. Similar kind of thing if you were a really good three-point-shooter in your P.E. class--hopefully, you wouldn't go around telling everyone who would listen about that, right? I like voices on a number of different synths (a ton of Vocaloids from different companies, IA English C, Eleanor Forte, hopefully Miku NT once they finish her) and I'd like to keep enjoying them all without the attitude.
