I still need to listen to her more. She is one of the few vocaloids I am having trouble liking. If anyone has song recommendations, I would appreciate that.
I updated the VST resource today. I wasn't able to do much since I'm tired, but hopefully the new additions can help. I hope to finish it relatively soon.
I'm thinking of perhaps making a list of VSTs to help others find instruments they need for remixing or music creation. I only own 2, however I know a large amount of VSTs from browsing Big Fish Audio, and other sites. Also, the list would only contain paid VSTs since I don't know many free ones. Any thoughts on this?
Also, I wrote this in a rush, so it's not as grammatically correct as I had hoped.

I'll make sure to work on it then. It might take a while to post, as I've never posted a resource before.

You can find many Youtube-videos about free good Vst's but I think it's a great idea to have a list here.

I have mostly paid vst's, and those that come with Studio One Pro, but I would recommend these free ones at the moment:

    synth:
Surge - very good synth with many, many useful presets
    Tal Elec7ro-II - good synth
Spitfire Labs: Many very good sample-based instruments can be downloaded for free on their website, often with an ambient sound to them.
Ample guitar lite, fine for some acoustic guitarsounds
free Kontakt player (there's a bunch of free libraries you can use in the free version)
Steven Slate drums 5 - free version with 1 drumset (but I would rather recommend the Toontrack EZ drummer line, but that's a paid vst)

    Free effects:
    Tokyo Dawn Labs Kotelnikov (compressor)
Tokyo Dawn Labs Nova (dynamic eq)
    Valhallah Supermassive (delay/chorus type)

@Stigbn Thank you! I'll add them to the list now.
Apologies for the inactivity. I've been very busy, as well as tired. I hope to respond to any DMs either by tonight or tomorrow. Tomorrow is the most likely date due to a storm going over my area around nighttime.
Also, out of curiosity, what benefits does using Vocaloid 5 as a VST bring? I've tried using it before as a VST, but it was slow.

Hey, don't worry about it! Things around here are very "Go-at-your-own-pace". Please take care of yourself, friend! :akasakiminato_lili:

If you only make covers then using it as a VST doesn't bring that many benefits I guess.
But if you compose your songs then you can go back and forth and edit the tune AND the accompaintment (the instruments) at the same time.

    @peaches2217 Thank you:kokone_lili:

@Stigbn Ooh, now that sounds interesting:nemu_smile_lili:It would help with timing it with the instrumental as well. Looks like I'll have to use it more as a VST soon.
Does anyone know if Crypton ships internationally, or do you need to use a forwarding service? I'd like to get Kaito and Meiko V1 at some point but they aren't available for download, only physical.

Thank goodness. Does this also apply to the Vocaloid Store? I noticed the Japanese one has different vocals available compared to the English one.
That's annoying. I had hoped Stardust would be the only one I would struggle to purchase from Taobao:ring_ani_lili: I hope so too, I don't know why he wasn't on there in the first place. I have a theory that they have a "exclusivity deal", for lack of better words, for Muxin right now, and I'm hoping the deal will be up after a month or two of his release, which is approaching soon, so let's keep hoping.:mirai_ani_lili:

Since you can use paypal on the japanese vocaloid store I’d assume that you could purchase directly from there. I haven’t tried this myself so I don’t know for sure.

Also, a heads-up: SuperBuy won’t purchase download-only vocals for you, like any of Quadimension’s SVS vocals. I use Taobao Focus instead! Make sure you put your email in the comments, so they can pass the info along to Quadimension.
How do you load a voicebank into UTAU? it recognized I had Momo and her banks, but not for Teto's. Momo is also not producing any sound when she sings. edit: It's because they are VCV, I'm still new to UTAU so I didn't know there was a difference. I don't know how to do the right input though.
edit: It's also not allowing me to input any Japanese. It keeps switching back to English.
Edit: Now it's allowing Hiragana, but keeps switching back to it when I try to input Katakana or Alphanumeric. And now it's not allowing me to use Hiragana at all? This is all so confusing. edit: The last one was my fault. I set the input method to Kana instead of Romaji, which was giving it issues. Also I can't believe I thought Alphanumeric was an actual form of Japanese. My knowledge of the language is not good.
edit: Also, does Utau allow for phoneme editing?

@patuk I would appreciate that a lot. As you can see, I have many questions since this is all so confusing for me.

Ah, I overlooked like all but one of the questions you asked me earlier. I’m sorry!!

Will this work with voicebanks like Momo's where it only has VCV?
In theory, yes, but I like to make sure I have the notes laid out and the lyrics input correctly and such before rendering it as VCV. Attempting to play CV with a VCV bank will result in a whole lot of nothing but silence. So I use either Tei or Teto’s VCVs (depending on which one is more similar to the VB I’m planning to work with), make sure the UST is correct, render it to VCV, then switch to my VB of choosing to begin the fine editing and tuning.

As for the plugin, I forget the exact name... there’s a few. I’m at work on my phone, so I’ll need to look it up 😅

Thanks. That's a good method. It might also help to save before rendering it, so you can go back and fix anything if you noticed something wrong after the rendering process.
Don't worry, I found it. It's Lyric Diphonizer.
I wonder, will UTAU start working again if I switch my system locale back to Japanese?
    peaches2217
    peaches2217
I'd say so! I don't think it can work without having your locale set to Japanese, can it? Of course, that doesn't change your computer's interface at all. Sometimes my login screen will be in Japanese upon restarting my computer, but other than that, it's perfectly fine.

:teto_lili:It did! I thought I would have to reinstall it. Now, to see if I can get the voicebanks to load.
@peaches2217 I had originally switched it back to english due to an unfortunate incident I had once where Studio One updated in Japanese. I guess if that happens again I'll put up with it if it means I get to use UTAU.
Teto was a prank designed to trick people into thinking she was CV04, or more technically, CV0401(The date of April Fools). I wonder if Crypton will end up playing on that and announce an NT voicebank for her on the 1st of April and say she's CV04.

I'd put my odds on an entirely new character instead. I think CFM knows better than to release another female head voice to compete with Miku & Rin.

I'm pretty sure I suggested before on another thread that Teto could be a prepackaged/"free" VB for Piapro NT, like Defoko for UTAU.

At this point, I'd be happy for a new Cryptonloid regardless of gender. It's been so long since they dropped Luka (their last new VB), and I miss the hype surrounding new Crypton vocal synths.

@Exemplar True, but knowing how vocal synth companies are, I could see them releasing another anyways just because female synths sell better.
Though I would love a new character and voice, it would be wonderful to have a new addition to Crypton's lineup:kanon_lili:
@Blue Of Mind That's a good idea:nemu_smile_lili: Having a way to test Piapro NT in any way would be great to me.
I feel the same way. I got into vocaloid long after Luka's release, and I remember being excited thinking CV04 would release any day now. It's starting to feel like the Half-Life 3 of vocal synths at this rate.:kaito_lili:
The birthday songs are coming in :miku_ani_lili:
I already made a post about Starry Song, but I also wanted to share this one by OwataP. I wish I knew the English name so I could make a topic like I did with Starry Song, but I don't know Japanese, and I'm not sure Google will translate it correctly.

I think I'll wait on purchasing SynthV's editor until we get news on Eleanor and her release. I need to save what money I have for VSTs and V3s, and while I like the vocals currently on it, Eleanor was the one that introduced me to it, so it only feels fair that I buy her with it.
Until then, SynthV will be my midi export tool. :clara_ani_lili:
Why do I continue to procrastinate on finishing this cover :ring_ani_lili: It's very short and tuning is my favorite part of Vocaloid, so this should be easy. But every time I open it, I tune one verse, then close the editor. I think it may be because I keep trying to balance all my creative hobbies instead of just focusing on one and doing it for hours, which is the most productive.
If anyone in the US plans on buying Maika digitally, I recommend buying from the Vocaloid Store. She's 10 or so dollars cheaper there then on Voctro's site.

Edit: thanks to Patuk and DefiantKitsune for alerting me of the price difference depending on your country's exchange rate with euro. The status has been edited accordingly to reflect the price I saw.

Alternatively, if you wanna buy her physically and you live in the US, this is the time to do so! Since most lines are shut down, Voctro will ship her via DHL, which is SUPER fast and normally really expensive. And it won’t cost you a penny outside of her product cost!

I also live in the US- Voctros price includes tax, while the Vocaloid store does not.

@DefiantKitsune Ah, that makes sense. I didn't go through the checkout process since I wasn't buying her right now. I thought the tax wouldn't bump it up too high, but I suppose it does.
If I remember right, Eleanor's SynthV 2 version is coming in september. I hope we'll get to hear a demo soon.

Probably not quite September, I'm not sure if they finished recording yet. If everything goes to schedule they'll open reservations for ANiCUTE VIP customers this week which will give a discount.
I should calculate soon and see if I'll be able to buy Chipspeech along with some VSTs from Plogue.

I can! I would have to wait a bit, but I don't mind. I'm just excited to finally own Chipspeech.
