  • For a time, I believe you could email Zero-G and get a downloaded version of the old retired VOCALOIDs. Anyone know if this is still something they do? Or is Leon lost to me forever? lol
Hey so it's been like a week since I finished Cowboy Bebop and uhhh... I'm still not okay. Send help.
So I recently heard a crazy theory that Leon and Lola are voiced by the same person. Anyone know how true this is - if at all?

hmmm i dont think its true because i remember snippets of interviews from way back when where someone described their voice providers as being "lovely people" or something of the sort.

Hm I also imagine switching from deep-toned authentic sounding feminine vocal to high-toned authentic sounding masculine vocal would be super difficult.

The most I've ever heard about their VPs was that they were black Caribbean singers, which obviously would mean that there were two separate people involved.
Can't sleep and need good, late night shoegaze songs. Anyone have any good shoegaze/dreampop VOCALOID songs?
Is anyone else feeling burned out with this fandom? I still love VOCALOID and listening to it and I adore my favorites still, so don't mistake me there, I just don't feel like contributing anything to forums... like I have nothing to contribute. I already can't really interact that much with it, since I don't own any VOCALOIDs and don't know how to use UTAU. But now even writing headcannons like usual is... unappealing.

I do feel like I've fallen out of the actual fandom side of Vocaloid as I've aged. I still take part in discussions regarding Vocaloid and other synths (needless to say, I've been fairly active regarding the drama surrounding Kafu lol), but stuff like shipping, headcanons, fanfics, etc.? Yeah, I've definitely fallen out of that. It's where much of Vocaloid's drama starts (when a producer isn't acting stupid, of course), and as I age, I develop less tolerance for the bullshit that starts in those corners of fandoms.

I feel this a lot, and it is why I have been even less active then usual, and I am already not very active. It seems like there is always drama or something starting up in this fandom to the point where it feels suffocating almost. Thinking of the fandom makes me somewhat anxious at times, and taints the love I have for vocal synths to where I do not want to tune. I have enough money for some vocaloids, and I do not even want to purchase them because I just do not feel it anymore.
I think it is like what Blue of Mind said. The older you get, the less tolerance you get for drama. I suppose ignoring the fandom more would help, but it feels hard to do with this fandom in particular, but in others, I do not struggle like this. Maybe it is because I have to interact for news? I am not sure. All I know is that whenever I isolate myself from the fandom for a while, I end up loving synths again.
(This ended up being more of a rant then a comment. My apologies.)

As for worrying about having nothing to contribute, do not worry at all. Even if you have no Utaus or Vocaloids, there is still a lot to contribute. Like sharing covers of your favorite vocaloids, or obscure producers, etc. I would not worry about contributing fanfiction or headcanons either. Let those come naturally to you. You can also study how to write characters, or look up writing prompts, to give you ideas for your headcanons.

I think It's okay to still "be" in the fandom without really having to contribute anything? You don't have to own Vocaloid / use it to be a part of the fandom (imo). I mean, I don't contribute anything except random UTAU covers and UTAU brain rot posts jdskjdjffk. Sometimes I feel out of place on this forum though with UTAU as my main engine because even though it is place for all vocal synths, Vocaloid seems to be the dominant topic. And I hardly touch my V4 editor anymore :s

I'm really only here to read about what other people have to say about synths and sometimes add my own views. It's basically a very tame and drama-free version of vocatwt lol. I don't have complex headcannons and only have a few for my fav characters. Honestly I'm probably more drawn to the technical / tuning / using the synth side of the fandom if that makes sense.
Getting into electro swing and steampunk music. Anyone have any VOCALOID music that fits those categories for me to listen to?
Oh man why do bands always have to change?? Like guys you were so good before and now... please just go back to how you were.
Remember when I talked about writing that Leon/Lola story five years ago? Yeah I think that idea has died lol.
