  • If kaito NT ends up sounding like kaito v1 I would cry tears of joy

Sameeeeeeeeee :mikoto_lili: imagine his soft vb was more similar to his V1 tone too that'd be a dream.

I don't dislike Kaito V3, but I'm still hoping for an equivalent to a Power VB for his NT, and some huge improvements on his English bank. (This might sound weird, but at times, Kaito English can sound like Leon?) But considering that Miku NT is supposed to be a return to Miku's V2 tone, I think Crypton might do something similar for Kaito and their other VBs going forward. (Rin and Len NT banks that sound like Act 1?)
So maybe replacing story PVs with the vocaloid characters in them with drawings of OCs is a bad trend for the vocaloid community. Maybe it's hard for most people to get invested in a new character or story arc just for a song. But the people wooma draws are so hot that I don't care
I wish I could like, explain the issues I have with cyber songman in a way that makes sense like...he always sounds off pitch to me and editing parameters and notes only sorta helps. I get that most people don't have perfect pitch but when even Kaito English sounds more "correct" and on pitch something has gone wrong. Whenever I show my friends my songman wips they think it sounds fine though, so maybe I'm just too sensitive to these things.
I cant believe there are people who can finish a cover in 2 days when I struggle with the same file for a month and then give up because I have to make art for it
If I see one more vocatwt person make fun of vy1 and vy2 because they don't have anime character designs I'm leaving twitter
It's so funny how people hate so much on Daina when dex is about the same quality as her. I guess him singing through his nose makes him better or something

Honestly, I found Dex a lot easier to work with than Daina; he’s more flexible and takes less beating to produce desirable results. And voice type-wise, Dex is more approachable. Way more people are in the market for a mature male vocal than a husky female vocal.

Granted by merit of their VPs I dislike both of them quite a bit, but this is just personal experience :yohioloid_lili:

Yeah I'm aware that dex is much more approachable I'm just bitter that there are finally engloids that have a fandom, but then also grew a hatedom :(
    I still think getting people from the fandom to voice vocaloids was a bad idea but Daina is my daughter ;;
I did research on the most iconic kaito songs of every year since hes been out and my brain feels like the inside of a microwave. I ended up with 113 songs
    No one:
Avogado6: hm I will make a video for my vocaloid song using "pixel art" in my DAW and nothing else
Being me in the vocaloid fandom is just getting whiplash every time someone credits a vocal synth for a song even though its the most common thing ever

Do you mean when people say "Song by Hatsune Miku" instead of the producer?

Honestly I see people apply this logic to covers more now eg. "Kaito's cover" it just makes me feel like cover artists are severely underappreciated if they're not kyaami/cilia

Now that you mention it, you are right. I see this often. I wish cover artists recieve more appreciation in the future, there are many I like, but you only see the fandom talk about Tanjiro or Kyaami/Cilla. I love their covers as well, but there are other cover artists that deserve a chance in the spotlight.
Not me defending the V4s constantly and then not being able to think of good songs with them when asked...im Embarassed.
seeing vocaloid producers still calling out hachi in 2020 over the sand planet debacle is so funny. him writing a song about how the vocaloid community was dead made people so upset we get callout posts in songs. never change vocaloid community

They need to grow up lol. Things change. It definitely is sad, but it also gives you that wonderful sense of nostalgia, too.

@Stardust The song (Jackpot Sad Girl) was commissioned for Project Sekai. It's not a matter of being accepted, it was... literally written for the game orz. The shorter version that's in the game doesn't include the Sand Planet commentary, and the rest of it fits the unit it was written for perfectly.

(The rest of this comment isn't to you in particular, just general musings)
Project Sekai's got a whole bunch of Magical Mirai theme songs in, but Sand Planet isn't one of them, which is interesting. But if the developers are aware of the message the song gives, then it'd make sense to not include it.

I don't have much to say on the Sand Planet issue myself; I was there when it was most relevant, I've seen every possible take on it since. I don't mind if people want to express themselves about it - Syudou writing a song about how they disagree is much better than... say, Kurage-P more or less cursing Hachi out in a public interview (which did happen). Even if it's "old news," it's the most popular Vocaloid song of all time if you just go by viewcount. Whether it's three years or ten years late, everyone deserves to have their own say in the matter. (Though yeah, I think Hachi more or less burned all his bridges with the song, haha. Even worse when you remember it was the Magical Mirai theme for Miku's 10th anniversary, which is kinda... :/)

@Rylitah I know it was commissioned, I am just surprised the producer submitted something controversial and that no one on the Project Sekai team has noticed it. That is what I meant by being accepted. My previous post was not clear on that, I apologize for that :kyo_ani_lili:I also did not know the shortened version for the game did not include the Sand Planet commentary. So I apologize for that as well. Maybe that is why the team was okay with including it. Thank you for clearing the latter up.
(Do not worry. It is better to put everything in one post then to double post in my experience.)

That Kurage-P interview sounds bad. It makes Syudou look much more professional in comparison. I always thought it was a strange choice for Magical Mirai and Miku's 10th as well, and I never understood why Crypton chose it or accepted it if it was commissioned.
