I don’t think it’s Utau-user exclusive. There’s a huge variety of reasons one might dislike a VB, y’know? And to pin it on one group of people seems kinda random, I guess.

And if I may: quality issues aside, the behaviors of the VPs is just uncomfy. And they’re so tied to their VBs that separating their behaviors from the VBs is challenging for some people.

The status they have in the community is due to them being voice providers ( besides being veterans ). They're easy gate-way to relevancy in the community and so many flock to them and befriend them, you're friend of a friend who's buddy-buddy with them before you even know it, in return you have to be all hush-hush about their wrong doings and uh....it is definitely taken advantage of I don't like that...so I don't support DDR

I always see things about what their wrongdoing but I have legit 0 idea :x can someone illuminate for me? I tend to not even realize drama exists cause I just kinda doot around in my own world over here tbh

A/k/i in particular is an uncomfortable person to me; she fetishizes wlw and constantly calls us “yuris”, and she’s made some... concerning remarks about underage characters(her remark about Len’s “little shota pantyshot” is probably the most infamous). Mi/sha and Lu/pin also respond very poorly to criticisms of any kind, no matter how kindly-worded. When Lu/pin brought up the possibility of Dex getting a SynthV bank, someone asked if he’d re-record the samples so that the end product would be higher quality, to which he threatened to record the samples on his phone out of spite. That could get a pass if he was just an Utau user having fun. Someone representing a company and a paid product? It just reeks unprofessionalism. On top of that, there’s accusations of people being scammed related to VocAmerica, but I admittedly don’t know the full details, so if anyone else knows more feel free to let me know.

For me it was more that utau users complain about the quality of dex and daina when their utaus are at about the same level. Im not blaming them I just don't get it. I still think it was a bad idea to get producers to record vocaloids in their own homes but there's not much anyone can do about it now...
On a personal level, I had no idea who aki and lupin were before 2015 so I genuinely liked dex and Daina for a long time. I still like dainas voice type but I won't forgive aki for how vocamerica went down, etc, it's just a little easier for me to separate them I guess. I think part of me wants to be nostalgic for the days i could like dex Daina and ruby without a hint of irony or self deprecation
