  • So, the package that finnish post briefly lost was finally delivered yesterday. It was EMS, but still took 11 days. Corona is not to blame, as the labels on the package proved it arrived in Finland on Sunday the 24th (2 days after the seller in Japan shipped it, meaning it indeed took them 8 days to first register as arrived in the country. I also got a package from Japan delivered via DHL. That took 3 days altogether. If only DHL was cheaper and offered by more Japanese online shops, I'd only use it.
Test shots of my new phone's camera. Shot in artificial warm light and default (automated) settings. The quality seems much better than in my old phone, but this phone likes saturated colours it seems.

Thanks! The new wig is noticeably shinier than the old one. I tried to maintain the old wig with various care products, but I wasn't quite satisfied (the old wig had some stray hairs poking out here and there, and was overall lacking shine. In the end I decided to get a new one.

Wow I never thought about how the Dollfie wigs could wear and tear like that, but I can see how that could happen over time. That's too bad but I'm glad her new wig is working out though!
So my phone decided to break down, can't make phone calls anymore. The issue I'm having is that this phone didn't even quite reach three years of use. My previous phone lasted about the same length of time. Is it too much to ask to have electronics that last longer than a couple of years in today's world?
Seems the package that started to look like it was lost has popped up in the finnish post tracking. So it took them 8 days to register it at the airport. Now to see how much longer it'll take until they deliver it to me (it's less than 100km from the airport, and takes a minimum of three days from my past experiences), hopefully no more delays from now on.
I'm getting worried about one package from Japan I'm waiting for. I know from Japan Post's tracking that it has left Japan last Sunday, and from experience I know EMS is always put on board a direct flight to Finland (during the pandemic it has always been Japan Airlines flight JL047, as revealed by the labels on every package I've received). which arrives within the same day. So it's now been in Finland for 6 days and Finnish post tracking still doesn't give any results for the tracking number. I know Finnish post is unreliable, but if you can't even register the package as 'arrived in destination country' within almost a week, that's pretty poor. Sure mistakes can happen, but I've had various problems with Finnish post so often it can't be just occasional mishaps. Sorry for the ranting, but I'm just so fed up with them always having difficulties with doing their job. Sometimes I've had my stuff delivered via DHL, and they never have any problems. Unfortunately DHL tends to be more expensive and many Japanese shops don't offer it as an option.

Is it possible to call the post office and ask them about the package directly? One time, I had a package that just got lost with the US post office, but after calling, someone was able to do some detective work and find it/get it going again. If they haven't even registered its arrival, though, that makes things more dicey... :(.

I'm going to wait it out a bit longer still, if nothing happens within next few days then I'll have to start inquiring. Though their service phone number is quite expensive to call to, and from what I've heard you have to queue for a long time. (And tbh, I think their response would just be something like "it's not in Finland because it hasn't been registered as arrived" or "ask the sender to make an inquiry" (in it's great wisdom the post decided that an official inquiry on lost or delayed packages can only be done by the sender. So if the package doesn't show up in finnish tracking next week, I'll probably email the sender and ask them to file an inquiry with the Japan post, who will then forward it to Finnish post, since it's 99% certain the package is in Finland, probably laying somewhere in the black hole of airport international mail centre.
Today it's exactly one year since Miku Expo in Berlin. Also a whole year since I last saw Miku live
My dream is to get a Racing Miku costume for my dollfie. I'm watching if some of the aftermarket clothes makers will make a 2021 version, but I'd be happy with almost any past racing Miku costume.
Just a random pic from twitter:
We got quite a lot more snow this week, now it feels like a proper winter (also it's -20 today so the temperature is appropriate for winter also)

Wow, that's such a beautiful winter scene, with those giant evergreens and all the snow! Is that a park/road or something, or is it near where you live?

It's a nearby forest 5 minutes walk from my home. I consider myself lucky to live in the countryside where I can easily go for a walk on the forests, I like to do that quite often.
Volks has been pretty busy with orders around the new year holidays it seems. I ordered stuff on the 2nd of this month and the package just shipped yesterday.
