  • Am I the only one who doesn't portray Miku as 16? I don't see her as anything older either. I guess I just say she's ageless. Idk after more than 12 years saying she's 16 to me is like having a grown woman act as a 14 year old in a movie

In all of my fanfics, Vocaloids are incapable of aging, but teens declare themselves as adults once they reach a certain point of maturity. So yeah, I'm with you on that one.

I see vocaloids as blank slates that people can morph into anything they really want, thier canons don't really matter and are only there as some starting points for producers to base their characters off of for their songs. If a producer needs Miku to be portrayed as 12 yo then she is 12 yo and if the producer needs her to be a 90 yo granny then she's a 90 yo granny. In that sense I also do see her as ageless.

Funny enough, there's some of the headcanons in which Miku is a child and her parents are Meiko and Kaito.
There's so many sales going on... it's times like this where I wish I had Vocaloid T-T

Alternatively, V3s come with the Tiny Editor version of Vocaloid 3. Avanna's like $30 right now. The TE is pretty limited, but it'd be a good option to play around with the system until you could get Piapro!

That would be the ideal, but currently I don't have any method of paying for either despite the price. Although getting Piapro is a nice thing to consider though. I'll keep that in mind whenever there's another sale!

Ah, I see. If you have the money, you could always purchase a prepaid card and use that to make an online payment. Of course, your finances are none of my business, so I'm not trying to be rude, just throwing it out there - that was how I made online purchases before getting a debit card. Whatever you decide, best of luck to you! It'll come to pass in time, I'm sure of it!

Now that my Ruby thread is done I can finally focus on finishing the raffle prizes and my piece for VocaWeen
OKAY I got the banners down but I just need to know how to convert to a code or something so people can put it in their signatures. I feel bad for asking for help so much, but I have no idea what I'm doing 😅

No worries! I upload them to Imgur. Make an account and upload the banners from your computer, then copy and paste the BB Code to display them. (To share the code itself, go to the ... icon and click the </> Code button, then paste the BB code in there.

Quick word of advice: if you're using anything other than Photoshop, you can't edit the text layer in the file Cheatsy provided, so just delete it and use your own text. (Gives it a little extra individuality, anyway!) Other than that, it works like a charm!

Thanks! This link is really helpful!
Does anyone know how to put on banners on your profile. I wanna put one for the MEIKO fanclub

If you're referring to just putting the one I've got up on your signature: the code is posted below the banner (something to the effect of [img.]codecodecode[/img]). Just copy that code and paste it into your signature, ay presto! The banner will appear in your signature after you save.

If you mean having the banner at the end of your profile, you can edit your settings by going to the navigation where your profile is, clicking on your profile name (or the person icon on mobile), and then going to "Signature"! You can add it to your signature that way, or go to "Account Details" to edit your profile on your page!

To put in an image, get the image URL, then surround it in this text. For example, it would look like this: [IMG]urlofimage.com/image[/IMG]
Hopefully that helps, if you still have issues, let me know!

Edit: Looks like peaches beat me to it, haha!

I'd really want to draw for a producer one day, but I have no idea how commissions work
I'm starting to think that maybe V5 is starting to support Mac more than Windows. Idk I heard someone say how it worked fine on Mac since release and most of V5's tutorials are shown on Mac. It could explain a lot of the bugs and crashes people keep talking about since I'm pretty sure most vocaloid users have Windows computers.

It would make sense if they were trying to appeal more to professional musicians. Macs have a lot of storage capacity the last time I checked so it would be useful for music production. I think the marketing strategy Yamaha was doing was to try and make it more mainstream to musicians. I think they're trying make VOCALOID as it was supposed be advertised 15 years ago: a professional musical instrument.

I'm not going to lie, this seems very unlikely, simply because at the end of the day, Windows is the default for.....EVERYTHING.

Also, Macs have historically had VERY VERY little presence in Japan if i remember correctly.

Besides, I seem to remember hearing some people having problems on Macs, and some people having minimal on Windows. I think it's just luck.

Makes sense if Yamaha is gunning for the more professional musician demographic like V1 was originally aimed at. But it shouldn't be at the detriment of Windows support and stability, especially since Vocaloid was originally released on Windows first and didn't get a Mac version until around V3.
I have this list of hypothetical covers I wanna do if I ever get VOCALOID but I'm pretty sure few of them would actually see the light of day lol

I've got a massive list too! I started it when I first got the editor and, believe it or not, I've ticked about 3/5 of them off the list by now. Having lots of covers to work on helps improve your skills, too!

Honestly, I say go for it. If you're worried about doing it here, you could open an account somewhere else to do it. I live for shipping content!
