    had too much happening to make progress on my planned new utau but i really do want to record a new vcv bank since its been almost 2 years being on T now, so i know for a fact my voice as definitely changed lol... i want to make a duet with my new bank and my old bank, itd be a fun comparison

    very much appreciate the kind of video that eclipsed sounds made for their updated banks- going into detail about and even point out that the way the vocal modes have changed may affect their quality when maxed (as its beta release i assume theyre working on it- but admitting it is there is good) or suggesting how you could maybe better use these features together.

    a cover artist i follow has made a few covers with Yun Quan and boy, i didnt read that it was a cover (it was all in japanese/chinese so i didnt read who it was in the title) and legit took me a hot minute to register it was a synth lol. i hadnt heard her much before this so i didnt expect it. especially because this is the first time in years i have heard a child like voice- the last being kaai yuki or oliver. so to hear that kind of sound being acheived again and having my last reference being those very old banks is wild

    while there are things to critique about the vocaloid 4 growl function, i just wish we have some kind of growl function in synth v. i even like some of the growl options in v5. to have it *at all* is more useful than to have no options... and i can often get some kinda result out of the vocaloid growl's anyways. we really need that in synth v...

    But I agree, every vocalsynth should have options for glottal effects nowadays. Not just growl, but glottal stops like the "?" phoneme in vocaloid. Anyway, I think soon or late they will add a feature in SynthV since SynthV team is pretty good in what they do (The Rap thing is pretty neat!)

    @AddictiveCUL (Add) i do know about that one! i have used it :') but its good but definitely not as convinient and tbh getting a good result can be a bit of a struggle with how the settings work.... it would be nice to have it as simple as vocaloid's. hpsynth's plugin also reminds me of one of the plugins someone made for v4 that gave more vibrato options and really my problem w this and those it you dont see the change until you hit the button to finish it :/ so the struggle is just. doing it multiple times until i understand how the sliders will work out lol...

    @IO+ not sure how youre using tension but, tension definitely isnt the same gravel-y growl that id need from vocaloid's version and i think any attempt to use it as such would be taking the same method of work from hpsynth's above plugin, but manually lol.

    you ever have a band/album that is good but its so like. depressing. that you really cant listen to it much at all even though you really love it and you want to?

    Anyways for me its "Home, like no place there is" from The Hotelier. theyre indie rock/emo. good shit but if i listen i know its gonna make me think about the past and feel bad

    Yes - Ethel Cain's Preacher's Daughter and Lana Del Rey's Ocean Blvd have a bunch of songs I just have to avoid because they're too evocative and emotional. :kaito_lili: They remind me of issues that hit too close to home.

    found files for a veryyy old Ken cover i did years ago but since took down- was thinking of reposting bc i liked the song. but man it reminds me how much i wish Synth V had a very blatant manual vocal fry function like V5/6 does. the cover i made may have been a... bit intense with it lol. but it really impacted the cover overall, i still like it

    i really liked my yuma/fukase cover (kinda wish it was getting more views on yt lol) and i havent done like... any cross-synth covers at all in ages. and it really reminds me how fun it is to have duets of different synths! especially non AI vs AI. bc i still LOVE fukase's voice and many other non AI voices can still be just great vocal pairs... its not fair to see them as worse or more awkward next to AI, theres so many great tones from the massive library vocaloid has. also i need the twinks to sing together. yuma/fukase/piko cover when

    i know its been a hot minute since i picked up that utau im working on-- which is mostly just life being busy. but really the plus is seeing more much my voice keeps dropping. but also.... its hard to determine the best time to stop waiting and just record lol. idk if my voice will go deeper or if its leveled out enough to not change too obvious in a short period. but at the same time i also feel i need to practice talking deeper... some ppl may not realize but being afab pre-T, you talk with your throat. amab talk with their chest. when you go on T you dont just... start talking with your chest really. you gotta be conscious about it and practice keeping that, which i havent done and kind of want to acheive bc id prefer that deeper sound- especially for singing range.

    yesss unit.0's remixes out... theyre so good. the videos are awesome and everything sounds great. surprised to say i dont hate the screamo attempt too much- its always so hard to do and i usually prefer for vocal synth artists to just... not even try it lol. but it didnt feel too awkward as to take me away from the song itself. but still... screamo vocal synth when???

    i was out all day and missed whatever happened earlier regarding v6 discussion! and thats ok bc it means i dont need to get upset trying to voice my opinion <3 and now those opinions will stay in my mouth outside of interacting w some posts lol.

    i didnt test this enough w the last beta... i think the betas make the realvoice script break, as it crashes when used. but i dont recall if it worked w 1.8 full release (if someone has that installer let me know!). my last older setup is 1.5 and if i revert to that, it works. but it also crashes with 1.9 if you make a file in 1.9 beta, it will crash when played due to new features (even with an older voice model loaded in 1.9 i think the new manual/sing/rap choices also mess it up?). soooo right now im kinda using 1.5 entirely for realvoice attempts i guess. as long as you start the file in 1.5/older you wont have issues as 1.5 wont load a newer voice at all. will have to wait and see if it changes on 1.9 full release though.

    i found my 1.8.1 installer (it was there, but not named w a ver number like the rest. i think this happens and then the next full release download overwrites it... i have 1.1.0-1.8.1 now!) and tested-- it crashed and took a moment but when it crashed and i opened again, synth v had its backup and it was actually all there, loaded in? so. i guess it works lol

    i also wonder to maybe "neutralize" the newer files for older ones, if running it through utaformatix would do anything? idk what itd do to a svp to svp. i will have to test if putting a 1.9 beta file in there will make it work with older versions

    when the installers aren't numbered it's real annoying ( especially cuz I go back and forth between them cuz there are pros and cons to the prior versions of the editor ), hopefully I'm not being redundant but if you look into the properties of the file, it should tell you the installer version!

    ah i hadnt checked the properties for that, just installed it and checked :P which wasnt an issue cuz i had all the others... but i feel like they changed the naming?? i feel like before each installer just... came named with a version number and now the new ones just replace each other? its weird they they do this when they at least allow old versions of the voicebanks to be swapped easily, why not allow the same for the program itself? though admittedly, most software doesnt host old versions either...

    theres one key issue i keep running into w synth v that i cant imagine is anything but a bug, but when i swap to the cursor and note bending on the timeline, the click and drag box sometimes just stops working. i can no longer select a large area of the nodes on the timeline and only select by clicking on each individual note.... this is still in the 1.9 beta as well so idk if this is getting fixed or what

    ages back when flower wasnt popular i had been making a list of every flower song i could find, which wasnt many back then!! so many good gems. i thought i deleted the list but its here! looks like i actually updated it randomly in 2019 too but i started it in September 2016. started it by going to the oldest videos of flower on nico/yt and once i went through those i went for whatever release i found lol.

    pleasantly surprised im really into circus' new song (no its not just bc its flower lol). im not the biggest fan of circus these days really, didnt think id be into the new song just bc it has flower. but i think its probably my favorite circus song in the last years that is really in my head now. plus rice's video for it is very good, and i am also a fan of the meta themes

    nah i get that, i wouldnt take it as hate- ppl have different tastes. and i also think thats why i havent been super into his stuff over the years-- i was very very into it when i was 13-16 because i was more into the general vocaloid hype rather than the genre. but circus' music isnt what i really play these days in general. but this one for sure got my attention more than usual
