Because that's about where I'm at, and all the times I've tried to say it a bit more eloquently have gotten me nowhere.
So I've mentioned a time or two how hard it is to find off-vocals for songs that premiered on Bilibili (or any Chinese Vocaloid song, really), but I've finally found an off-vocal for one of my personal favorites, and I think Haiyi's voice would be excellent for it!
Sorry, Hao Xiang Ni. Maybe someday.
Okay, but like-
Tianyi's concept is that she's an alien who can't speak "human language" (which is, in her case, Chinese), and so she can only make her feelings and thoughts known through the universal language of music. (Yeah, I know it's a mostly-abandoned concept, but it's still fun.)
Xingchen, having been birthed from the cosmos (/ZERO), has been stated to be able to travel between stars and worlds. When on Earth, she and her sisters speak Chinese, but there's no reason she couldn't know other languages from other worlds.
Tianyi meeting Xingchen. Xingchen tries striking up a conversation with Tianyi, so Tianyi tries telling her in her own language that she can't speak Chinese. So Xingchen, without missing a beat, says in perfect Tianyish, "Okay, we'll speak in your language!" and Tianyi's just. Shook. Because that's the first time she's ever heard her language come out of someone else's mouth since she left her home world.
They'll have extensive conversations with each other in their alien language and the Vsingers are simultaneously amazed and annoyed because Moke's pretty sure he just heard Tianyi say his name, and now both girls are laughing...
So... what do you do when you're burnt out from the cover you're working on because you can't make it sound good, and you're burnt out from writing because you can't make it sound good either? I don't have any other skills or hobbies, and the weather is awful so I can't get out and about for a while to clear my head.
On that note, my sister's scared that the storms are gonna destroy the house, so we're all crammed into the living room (which is also my bedroom) while my sister plays Roblox with her friends online and my mom's watching a show and talking to her friends. I've got nothing to do and nowhere to go, except maybe the bathroom, but I'm paranoid about going into the bathroom during a storm like this...
Bad news: Haiyi's status hasn't been updated. She shipped out 22 hours ago, so I was hoping I'd hear something by now...
Good news: According to USPS's tracking system, she's in pre-shipment! I'll be keeping tabs on it throughout the day.
Also, I got bored and did this, and it was a lot of fun.

Haiyi has officially left China! She's en route to San Francisco, where she'll be picked up by USPS and driven to Arklahoma, where I've got a place cleared out on my collection shelf for her! This is so exciting
It's not bad so far, I think! The vibratos need a lot of work, but knowing I can edit them in Piapro the same as I can in V4 (Kazumi I could never thank you enough) I think I'll manage.
I literally had a dream last night that I got Haiyi, and she was a lot smaller than I expected (like, the size of a pamphlet), and I accidentally tore and crinkled her packaging right after I got it. I've never been so anxious about getting a VB that I dreamed about it.
According to Superbuy, she's been sent out! If she makes it out of China then we're home free I think, but that would be the hard part. Here's hoping!
(Now to see about that Buyee order... which STILL hasn't been shipped out by the seller... nearly THREE WEEKS LATER...)
The detailed photos are in! (They included a picture of the back of the case but it was too small to tack onto these.) I'm excited yet anxious, especially after reading about how strenuous the process of getting a package out of China is... but I followed all of the advice I was given, both here and from a random subreddit I found, so here's hoping!
It's almost 10AM in Guandong, so she'll be shipping out probably within the next ten hours... assuming they send it out without trying to get the keychain to me as well. If that's the case, it'll be a few days.
...y'ever feel like everything you do just leads you down a path to inevitable failure? Like, no matter how many hours you spend working with Vocaloids, and no matter how many years you try honing a skill to the point that's one of the only things you're known for, your only option is to fail, and no matter how hard you work for it you'll never be good and no one will ever love your creations and, to that extent, you?
Maybe I just need to find a less challenging song. Iroha's a tricky bastard.

Y'all have ordered from Superbuy, right? I need some help.
Haiyi hit storage about an hour ago, and when I went to arrange to ship her out, I got a notification informing me of three things:
1.) Something was missing (a "Physical Bonus" I think is what they said) and they were going to contact the seller about it.
2.) There's a good chance the package will be denied or confiscated, which I have no control over, and if that happens then nothing can be done.
3.) She's a restricted item.
Did y'all get any similar notifications? I'm just worried I'm doing something wrong. On the bright side, they sent me much clearer photos, and she looks to be in great physical order! (Xuu, did they send a serial code or do Quadimension's SynthV vocals use serial codes? I know the free VBs you have to register and enter a code, but I don't know how it works for paid VBs.)
The most ambitious crossover event since Endgame
By the blessings of Superbuy, I have been given my first look at My Girl! She is blurry and sideways but I love her anyway.
I finally found the perfect song to show off Iroha's lovely lower range! Since Studio One won't let you listen to the backing track while editing in Piapro, I laid out the beginning in V4, as it's all over the place in regards to tempo before the chorus... I've only been using Piapro exclusively for a week or two, and already using V4 felt so weird.
Me: "It's still a few more hours before Superbuy's warehouse opens up, and your package is hardly the only one they'll be receiving. Focus on your writing tonight. When you wake up tomorrow morning your order might be ready for processing!"
Also me, violently refreshing my page on Superbuy: "IT'S TOMORROW IN CHINA NOW GIVE ME MY WIFE"
Now we're getting somewhere! Buyee contacted the seller and they confirmed they're sending it out ASAP, and they were held up due to the holidays. (Now I feel like an A-hole for inquiring...) On top of that, Haiyi's on her way to Guangdong, where I requested some pictures to make sure she's in good shape (and tipped my buying agent again for the trouble). Now just to wait for both VBs to hit their respective warehouses and go from there! -
